Welcome to chapter 3 I got a review asking who is Laharl-chan? well she is the female version of Laharl that appears in Disgaea d2. The game is for ps3 if you have not played it please do. as for how this story will go well lest see. The parings have been picked for this story will be LaharlxBarbaraxrainier will others be added who knows.

As for what powers will be used well that's hidden for now I will also bring back some old classes from disgaea one. Now let the chapter begin and if you have ideas for the story let me know and be warn this chapter will show a bit of Lahral's other side we know he has but refuses to believe in it

Chapter 3 memories and trust

Rainier carried the knocked out Laharl to the hospital wing of their leaving him on the bed gently as she moved her hand through his hair smiling. But lost the smile when she found the scar on his back.

"Just what happen prince? You're not someone who would get hurt so easy… so what happened..?"

Rainier asked sleeping prince hoping to get a response but had no luck as she turned to Barbara who was awaiting orders.

"Barbara stay with him till he wakes. When he wakes up come get me or Grosso."

"Understood!"

Rainier left the room as Barbara took a seat and started to watch the prince sleep.

Laharl breathed steadily for a while but started to breathe heavily and move around in the bed. Barbara watched and wondered if he was waking up.

Laharl's mindscape

Laharl was standing alone in the rain looking at his mother's grave which he would visit when he was alone since he became overlord. Next to her was his father grave. He didn't cry for them since he had lost them a long time ago. He had lost his mother when he was baby so he could barely remember her. But his father was all he had left even when his father asked him if he loved him he told him he hated him but he didn't hate him he was scared to lose him as well since he was the overlord and had lots of powerful demons after him.

"Tsk, love, a useless emotion the pain I feel cause of that love freak. Why does it hurt now?" He asked himself. He didn't know why nor he cared he told himself as he walked away from it.

The scene had change he was alone sitting at the place of reincarnation for the Prinnies for the first time since he last came trying to get the Prinnies back.

"Huff, huff, I made it..." he said to himself as he saw souls start to disappear as he heard the song again.

"Why, why did they leave me. I thought we were friends..." he asked himself as he saw more souls start to disappear into the red moon. "Who needs them anyway I am the great Laharl I don't need them!"

He felt his chest hurt after saying that not understanding why but the area around him turned dark as he saw a red Prinny standing in front of him with its back turned as the red Prinnies song continued.

"You!?"

The red Prinny suddenly took a human form making his eye widen as she began to walk away into the red moon not turning to meet his gaze.

"Wait!... Please! MO…."

Dream end

Laharl awoke with his hand raised and sweat running down his face. He clenched the bed sheets with one hand but what shocked him was what his other hand was out starched like in the dream but he was reaching for the air. He retrieved the hand and grabbed his face.

'What the hell is wrong with me think about them of all the time and where am I?'

He looked around and saw he was being stared at by Barbara who was sitting on a chair he was about to ask what she was looking at but was surprised when she spoke.

"Are you all right prince?"

The way she called him prince made him remember his past glory but he threw the thought out.

"I'm fine I just want something to eat and drink. I have been tired for some time."

"I see."

"Wait I thought you couldn't speak for yourself?"

"I can speak just fine I just trained myself to follow orders more efficient since it helps me get the job done. There was a time when I just followed orders to the extreme not caring about my needs but..."

"But?"

"That's an old story I still follow all orders but I was given an order 150 years ago to try and live my life. So I do a few things for myself now I need to get Rainier and Grosso." (A/N ok so i decided to give her a bit of free will to make her play more of role here and then ok no flames)

She rose from her seat and left the room leaving him alone as he looked at the ceiling wondering what she meant or why she would tell him any of that.

'Do the others know that she has a bit of free will and who was the one that gave her the order? At least with her sexy body gone I can finally get some real rest.'

He sighed thinking to himself as a thought finally hit him as he looked around the room getting up from the bed and began trashing the room shouting.

"Where is it! Where is my sword?"

He felt himself tire from the search cursing to himself as he sat on the edge of the bed.

"I still haven't recovered from the sword, I can't believe that weakling made me use it on him. Tsk is my power really disappearing after all?"

He looked at his hand and tried to summon a bit of his power and only got a spark. He clenched his fist an anger and was about to leave the room but heard the door open. The smell of food caught his nose and his stomach growled.

"My,my looks like the young prince is still a baby if he needs me to feed him."

He didn't speak he just looked at the floor as he heard the voice get closer.

"Awwww, don't you want to talk me I did take care of you growing up."

"What!?"

He looked to see Rainier but paled as he saw getting closer to him holding a tray of food.

"Don't get any closer you hear me!"

"What can't stand the sight of a grown women?" She said with a smiling at the princes reaction to her but was a little worried about him.

"Whatever, who are you and where is that old fossil? I need to talk to him. I think he may have my sword I need it back."

"You really don't recognize me? I'm a little hurt since I was your baby sitter for a number of years." She set the food on the bed and he began to eat not looking at her as he was eating his antennas went up from being fed.

"No I don't know you, I would recognize someone with a sexy body trust me. Since I tend to remember everything that makes me want to throw up like I want to right now."

Rainier looked at the prince thinking about what he said.

"So you think I have a sexy body do you prince?" She said with smirk.

"Trust me, in my view that's a bad thing and don't get too close to me whoever you are. Beside I may be a bit weak right now and from my years alone but..."

"But?"

"I am not stupid you know, you're here to watch me until that old fossil comes to speak to me. So who better to watch me than someone like you? Am I right or are you going to prove me wrong?"

"My,my you sure have gotten a little smarter since the last time I saw you."

"I keep telling you I haven't seen you before and if you want to keep praising me go ahead I wont stop you, beside. I had to learn the hard the way that my power can only get so far."

She looked at him when he said that and asked.

"Is that how you got the scar on your back?"

Laharl spat the water he was drinking and looked at with a glare before he stopped eating didn't speak. The room stayed silent for a few moments as he got up from the bed and walked away from her and sat on a chair on the other side of the room avoiding all contact.

"Tell the old fossil to hurry up before I decided to leave this place."

The door opened and in walked in Grosso along with Barbara who stood near Grosso who looked at the prince who had his back to him.

"I see your awake prince, how are you feeling?"

"Like you care! Lets get down to why I am really here you fossil.

"Very well prince I assume you will be wanting your sword back."

At the mentioned of his sword he looked at him and saw him holding the sword beside him Rainier stood looking at the sword along with Barbara.

"Give me back my sword!"

He reached for it but Grosso pointed it at him.

"May I ask were you got such a sword like this and do not lie to me. If you do we will not help you to take the throne."

"Wait,what! We're going to help him get the throne but why?!" Rainier yelled looking at the prince who raised his hand and was given his sword by Grosso.

Laharl looked over the sword and saw it was undamaged he was being looked at by them.

"This sword is all I have left from when I was overlord."

"Lier. "Replied Grosso as Laharl sighed as he spoke again.

"I'm not lying when I lost my title I lost everything so I had to turn to fighting other demons that wanted me dead because I am still my old man's son. Sometimes demons wanted me dead just cause I lost to angel and for not being a worthy overlord, I didn't care if they wanted me dead I would fight back to prove my power to them. My old sword broke after a few years so I..."

"You what prince?"

"I snuck back". Was all he said letting them figure out the rest.

"You snuck back to castle to steal a sword?" Asked Rainier wondering why he would risk being found at the castle.

"Yes and no, you think I would really go to the castle with my ex friends? Hahahaha good one I went to see my mother's and old man's grave."

Grosso eyes widen figuring out what he meant as he grabbed the prince by his scarf holding him up in anger.

"You! Did you!?"

Laharl smiled but shook his head "I'm not going to dig up the dead for my own personal gain. I may be a demon but I have some standers. Do you really think I could dig up my own mother? Well maybe my old man but..."

He was dropped by Grosso on the floor hard probably getting him back for that digging up his old man up thing he said. He raised hand up a little.

"A little help?"

His hand was grabbed by Barbara but felt a little sick that he was being helped by her but shook it off since someone was helping him. He stood back up and dusted himself off.

"As I was saying I went to the graves and took the sword that was left on my old man's grave since he wasn't going to need it."

"So you just took a priceless Netherworld treasure from his grave?" He asked the prince as he shrugged.

"Like I said I needed a sword and fighting to stay alive I didn't have the money to buy a good one with most places not wanting to serve me. I wasn't left with much options, beside don't you think he would want me to have it so I can stay alive long enough to get the throne back?"

Grosso rubbed his eyes and saw the logic behind the prince's words and couldn't say anything to him but only had two more questions for him and he hoped he had the answers.

"I can see that you had your reason for this prince but I must ask what you did to our coworker. What exactly did you do to him?"

"That guy? I didn't do anything special all I did was put my element into this sword. Nothing special, just a little magic."

"How is this possible for you? You are a prince, you can't cast any magic."

"Look I can tell you all this some other time but by the sound this women made she doesn't know about our little deal?"

"Indeed I must have forgotten to inform her. Rainier from now we will be helping the prince to help him reclaim the throne."

"What? Why do we have to help him try and reclaim his throne?!"

"You misheard me Rainier, I said we will help him get the throne I didn't say it would be his throne…..yet..."

"What are you getting at?" She asked his as she the prince let out an evil grin.

"What he is getting at its I told him before we came here. I will help get the throne but you have to help me become more like my old man a bit."

"What!?"

"Its exactly as is sounds Rainier. We will be helping the prince try to become more like the former king and hope we succeed."

"But why him?! Of all people!"

"I know he may not be the best choice but he has one thing we need for the throne. The former king's power. We can deny it all we want but we alone cant take on that angel overlord since she has the old king's servants and the prince's old friends. Even with Barbara on our side we would be walking to our defeat. Beside were you getting to know him a bit before I got here?"

"That's different! I didn't know I would be working with this brat!"

"You sound just like my no good vassal, and I don't care if you want me around or not since we both need each whether we want each other's company."

She stayed silent as Grosso looked at the prince.

"Since you seem to be bit better we have a lot to get ready for you. Mainly the teachings of what will be expected of you."

"I understand." Laharl said with a grin but in his mind he was laughing.

'Soon once I know what made my old man so great I will get my throne back and teach that angel what happens when you mess with me. Nothing these people teach me will make me change my ways.'

Grosso spoke to Rainier who nodded and left the room leaving Laharl alone with Barbara and Rainier.

"Barbara take the prince to one of the empty rooms then turn in for the day."

"Understood!"

Laharl followed her out of the room passing Rainier giving her a smirk since she was unhappy with him staying there in their base. As he followed Barbara he pulled his sword out and looked at the ruins still intact.

"Good no damage done to them." He said to himself as he heard Barbara speak.

"Magic knight runes."

"What was that?" he asked her.

"The runes on your sword are based on the same runes that magic knight use, aren't they?"

His eyes widen at what she said.

"How do you know?!"

"I am a great and noble demon I have learn a lot over my training to become a high rank demon. So naturally I learn about other demons encase I ever have to fight them."

"Why are you telling me this and why is you talk to me when I don't give you an order?"

She shrugged.

"As I said I have some free will but have never chosen to use it around them since they only care about getting the throne. So I have not spoken to them unless ordered to. But for why I, speak to you I don't know myself maybe I am worried since i know what the runes do."

"Hehehehe, for a girl with a sexy body you sure know a lot."

"Is that some kind of cheap pick of line?"

"Ha! If you knew me at all you would know that's insult."

"Maybe to you but I will take it as a compliment"

"Whatever floats your boat, besides I don't care about the draw backs of if these runes, they have helped me out of a lot of trouble in the last hundred years."

"Aren't you worried I will tell Grosso all of this?"

"Should I be? You said it yourself, you have no reason to tell him unless he orders you to find out about it. But I say he already knows since he returned my sword without any questions about it, the hard part was getting a magic knight to help with it."

"From what I heard they don't like helping men out since they are an all-female knight's race."

"Don't remind me I went to get them to help me with this sword but they refused me and I almost passed out by just seeing them. I just managed to get out alive, I could have sworn some of them were looking at me with weird eyes."

He shuddered at the thought at what they might be thinking to do to him but anyone that got near him well he managed to get out of their village with only burning down a few houses….and a weapon shop. He saw that her face had a questionable look on it and shrugged and thought.

'Why not I can just order her to shut up about anything about me.'

"Hey I bet your wondering how I got the runes on my sword if they didn't help?"

She nodded as he grinned liking that someone wanted to hear about him again since he hadn't spoken to anyone in a long time and didn't trust Grosso or Rainier, but held no grudge against Barbara...yet…

"Well I was just wandering the netherworld one day and out of nowhere I looked and I saw this strange orb of energy in the air I thought I was seeing shit, since It had been a couple of days since I had eaten. I heard the sound of fighting and made my way to see if I could get anything out of it." He paused and took a breath as he said the next part.

"When I arrived I saw man fighting demons and protecting angels from the look of it, but these angel looked weird I never seen any of them before. Maybe the angels have changed their looks over the years. I saw he needed some help but didn't want to get involved, but I decided to lend a hand. I thought why not I could get something more out of it if I help the angels since they might have something I want."

"So you helped them out?" She asked as he chuckled.

"More or less, the man I helped thanked me and asked what I wanted in return since he knew a demon would want something for helping an angel. To my shock he was magic knight and was a male at that."

He saw the shocked look on her face since who ever heard of male magic knight? It was unheard of in the netherworld. She looked at him with questionable eyes trying to tell if he was fibbing since with years of training she could tell if someone would lie about something like that.

"So he helped you power up your sword?" she asked

"Yeah I even got him to teach one of his own moves."

"What's his name?"

"I don't remember it much but I think his name was Kratos Aurion I think?" (A/N if I have any Tales fans here you will know who he is and yes he is mentioned lol. But will I do flash back showing what move Laharl learn from him?).

"That's a weird name."

After their conversation they had arrived at Laharl's new room. He opened the door and walked inside and saw Barbara about to leave but decided to try and keep his runes and how he got them a secret even though he knew Grosso probably already knew what his runes were and about the man he had met.

"Barbara, I don't want some information that I told you to get out so I order you not to tell anyone about what we talked about."

She stopped in her tracks and nodded as she spoke again without being ordered to.

"Understood I won't tell anyone, but you needn't ask since I don't tell them anything unless asked. I try to keep my secrets when I can and others since I am alone here."

He was going ask what she meant but she walked away leaving him in thought.

'She is alone?... She must have been through something since she said she trained for years making her self into the perfect order taker but who gave her the order Whatever why am I thinking of this now?'

He retired to his room for the rest of day resting for the next day and for what Rainier and Grosso had planned for him and he had to be ready for whatever they had ready for him.

The next day he woke when a Prinny knocked on his door bringing him a plate of food.

"Here is your food prince Laharl dood."

"Whatever."

He took the food and was about to go out his door but saw the Prinny looking at him.

"What are you looking at?"

"Nothing dood but can I have your autograph Dood!?"

"Huh? Why?"

"The other Prinnies wont believe me if I told them I met you dood. The hero of Prinnies that may even be greater than Prinny Mask dood!"

He didn't understand what the Prinny was talking about but smiled at the thought of him being respected even it was by the lowest of all demons in the netherworld.

"Whatever you want as long as you see me as someone great I don't care what you're saying."

He sighed the Prinny's small book and saw the Prinny run away with joy for some odd reason. He shrugged at the sight and ate his meal in peace before leaving the room deciding what he would do till he was called. But as he traveled the halls he heard talking behind a door. He put his ear near the door and heard Grosso and the rest.

"We need to do something about him now before he does anything else! The Majin in my right arm also agrees."

"Will you shut up? You don't have a Majin in your right arm!" He heard Rainier shout.

"Both of you be silent!"

They both stayed Silent as Grosso spoke.

"I agree we must do something to put him in his place. He still wants to be over lord and is getting people to support him. If we try something he will see it coming we need someone to take care of him once and for all."

Laharl's eyes widen at what heard he was reaching for his sword thinking they were going to try and kill him. Stopped as he heard the next part.

"We need to kill Maderas!"

Done well what do you think? And yes I know some people might not like that I did a small part with Kratos meeting Laharl but its Disgaea it has lots of Camoes so yes. Should I do a small flash back showing what move Laharl learn from him his reaction to him? Now yes I know I gave Barbara more of a speaking role that's because she will be more free willed but still need orders to do things and right now only talks to Laharl as for the runes well it will be explained later since I had to put a male magic knight since there are none.

But will I invent a whole new class of Male magic knights since Kratos paid a visit? Who knows, as for what will happen with Maderas and Laharl if the meet again and Will Barbara play a part in with this, and what about his sister and old friends and whats up with Rainier? Anyway how will I take this story and will Xenolith make an appearance
