Chapter 6
Later on that night, back at Wolfsberg manor, Jordan sat at the beauty table in her room. She slowly smoothed down a piece of waxing paper before quickly ripping it off. On the paper held a lot of hairs, making her let out a loud, disbelieving 'Whoa'.
Hunter, who was walking down the hallway to his room, paused as he noticed a plate of bones outside his sister's door.
Jordan ripped up another piece of waxing paper, once again with a load of hairs attached to it. She looked at it with shock on her face, before looking down at her legs. The small patch that held no hair remained for three second before growing back. "Are you kidding me?!" She three the waxing paper onto the table. Leaning closer to the mirror she watched in disbelief as her own eyes went from brown, to an amazing blue, back to brown. Standing up in shock, she started to back away from the table. As she turned around she let out a short, shocked scream at the sight of her little brother standing there. "What are you doing?" Jordan asked his after a second.
Hunter clenched his eyes together, the loudness of the shriek ringing slightly in his ears. "What am I doing? What are you doing?" His question and face were lined with suspicion.
"Me?" Jordan was still getting her heartbeat back to the regular rhythm, "I'm, uh, getting ready for my date!"
Holding up the plate of meat bones, Hunter commented. "I found this outside you're door!" He watched as his sister's eyes widened a fraction.
Let out a slight cough, Jordan spoke. "Hunter, you've acting really strange lately. You alright?"
"I'm fine. Are you alright?" Hunter asked carefully.
Letting out a forced laugh, "I'm fine!" She smiled at him, "Alright, why don't you go chat with you little nerd friends online so I wont be late?" Noticing that he was looking at her legs suspiciously, she brought the dressing gown closer around body.
Downstairs David Sands was sitting at the dining table, clearly waiting for something. The silent question was answered when the blonde, bombshell, ray-of-sunshine herself, Paulina Von Ekberg walked out of the large kitchen next door wearing a pair of oven gloves and holding a silver tray.
"Oh, my God! These smell scrumdiddlyumptious." She laughed, walking closer to David. "Look at our little faces!" Placing the tray on the table, the cookie which they had been baking had their faces on them. "So cute!"
"Yeah!" They both shared a laugh and David went closer to look at them. The two sat up while turning after hearing the step of high heels. "Madame Varcolac," Wolf howl, confused look, "Uh, you remember Paulina?"
Paulina smiled and waved, "Hi."
Madame Varcolac was not happy, "You 'vill clean up mess in kitchen." She stated.
David nodded, "Of course." Madame V then turned on her heel and left. After Madame Varcolac had left to go back into the kitchen, the two adults burst into giggles. "Busted!"
Paulina managed to giggle out, "Creepy."
David smiled, leaning closer to Paulina, "She's the mayor of creepy town." Paulina nodded, agreeing with him, "So what do you know about her anyway?"
Paulina laughed, "There's all kinds of rumours."
David shrugged, and interested look on his face, "Well, what kind of rumours?"
"Oh, David, I shouldn't say, I just hate gossip," She sighed, but then looked towards him seriously, "But Dragomir did die under mysterious circumstances."
"Really?"
"Yeah." Paulina whispered back, "There are those that believe that Madame V may have…" She put her hand, and then thrust it down, as if she was stabbing someone.
David's look of disbelief was funny. He slowly dragged his finger across his neck, something that Paulina nodded to.
"But come on!" Paulina laughed, "Its crazy right, I mean there's no way." Paulina paused for dramatic effect, "Is there?"
Later on that night Lillian had been walking around, after watching a particularly funny episode of Looney Tunes, searching for Hunter. As of late she'd been spending a ridiculous amount of time with the boy, something which neither had spoken of. Lillian was sure she liked him, definitely as more than a friend, but what if he did not feel that way? What if she did not feel that way? Was she even sure about her confusing feelings?
Was that her heartbeat that was pulsing uncontrollably?
Perhaps she was thinking too much into it, perhaps there was no need to fret. Lillian paused in her thoughts; her feet coming to an abrupt stop too. Was she flirting with him all those other times? Even when she was unsure of her own feelings?
Thinking back on her behaviour she smirked, of course she was flirting! Even this afternoon, she had kissed him (on the cheek, of course) and if that wasn't flirting… what was? Lillian bit her lip, her face flushing a light red when she noticed she had come to stop right outside of his bedroom door.
Clearly her subconscious was telling her something.
She sighed, looking down at her outfit, having changed out of the one from earlier, and she caught herself wondering if said outfit was cute enough for her to be wearing in front of Hunter. The black stocking/tights were almost see-through underneath her black and red pleated skirt, with that she wore a black tank top with red lace on it.
Lillian rolled her eyes and thought to herself; when did she turn into such a girl? She softly knocked on the door and was soon face-to-face with, what she now realised, her crush (something that did not help her fast-paced heartbeat).
"Lil? What are you doing here? Won't Madame V kill you or something?" Hunter was still wearing his clothes from earlier, which conveniently matched her outfit… Her subconscious was clearly telling her a lot today.
Lillian shrugged before raising her eyebrow, "If I say she would, will you let me in?"
Hunter smirked before sliding out of the doorway. "After you." She walked in and gently swept passed the boy, unknowingly rubbing against his chest, making him shiver slightly.
Hearing the door close, she turned back to him and began to speak, only to realise he was about to speak also. "After you." Lillian murmured, teasingly using the words he used only moments before.
Smiling at her softly, a feeling overtook him, a feeling that made his gut clench at the sight of her, standing in the moonlight pouring in from the window behind her. God, that moonlight made her look angelic... Moonlight…
"I think there's something up with Jordan." Hunter spoke, quickly distracting himself and pretending not to notice the saddened look on her face, "I think it has to do with Dragonmir's secret lab that we found." Hunter looked at her from the corner of his eye as he went searching for that piece of glass that he found in Jordan's foot, the one that he found 'gnarly'. Quickly finding it, Hunter went about inspecting it before quickly venturing to his door.
Lillian was looking at him confused. She paused, thinking what he said over in her head… but Jordan couldn't be. Could she?
"You coming?"
She looked up, finding Hunter standing in the now open doorway, holding in his hand the fragment of glass and the other hand stretched out towards her body.
"Duh."
