Tyler's Prospective:
"Is she still alive?" My mom says, coming into the room with her skeleton body.
"Yes, it is a miracle. She can really win this you know?" I say quietly, I don't want to jinx it.
"She is tough, provided just like her dad does. When the trumpets blare I want to be the first one to throw a party, then maybe we will get food." She says jokingly about the food, but sounds soft about her victory.
"I am going to the Seam, our herbs right now will sell good considering she made it this far, Greasy Sae gives us good deals if we get this far." I get up from the couch, grab the herbs, and lightly jog to the Seam.
On my way there I see crowds of people, hording at a hologram of the Games. I catch of glimpse of Riley, running from Tucker's dead body with tears in her eyes. If I were there I would just joke about the Games, but if I joke about them now I am making fun of her possible death. Greasy Sae is behind the counter, but she almost doesn't recognize me because she is watching the Games.
"Can I get 2 pieces of bread with this?" I say, kind of loud trying to grab her attention.
She takes my herbs and finds 2 loaves of bread, but she gives an extra one for some reason. "Can you believe she made it this far? That girl has a kind of determination that drives her." Sae says in awe.
"Did you even know her that much Sae?" I ask, I don't see Riley here that often
"Of course I do, she comes here at least once a week for a loaf or two of bread or maybe some strawberries. You can stay here and watch the Games with me if you like." She then gasps, my eyes open quickly, I jump over the counter and look at the screen.
I notice the remaining tributes, girl from 7,8 and of course, Riley. Girl from 8 makes me almost want to throw up. She is getting devoured by what seems like bald eagles with the sharpest beaks I have ever seen. Her body is going limp, multiple stab wounds cover her chest, legs, arms, and face. A cannon fires for her, and I watch Sae put a hand over her mouth.
"I need to get home!" I shout, jump over the counter and dash out of here, I need to see if my mother knows what jut happened.
Lily's Prospective:
I hear the screams escape my mom and dad's mouth. I dart my head over to the hologram of the Games, I was cutting some bread but I wonder what just happened. I hear a cannon and the screen is zooming in on a person, but before I can fully see the screen my mother puts her hands over my eyes. I just hope it isn't Riley's cannon.
After about few seconds my mother's hands drop from my face, I then look out the window. Tyler is sprinting to his house, loaves in his hand and he also almost shoves a pregnant woman. Caesar Flickerman then moves away from the Games and talks about the tributes without the showing of the footage.
"As of tonight, 2 tributes remain. Who will win? We will find out, but as of right now lets go interview the families of the final 2. Usually we interview them in the final 8, but it went from 8 to 2 quickly."
Interviews? I am about to question my mother when a horde of cameramen swarm into our house. They click their camera, takes pictures while other grab ahold of my mom, dad, and me for individual interviews. I am confused with what is happening, but they don't care, they just pester me.
"How do you feel about your sister being in the Games, going this far?"
"Mixed feelings, I am happy she might come home, while I am scared that she might come so close but fall short." They nod and continue.
"When she was on her pedestal, did you think she would maintain the bloodbath?"
"Actually, tributes from our District don't really ever survive the bloodbath, but I knew my sister would. Tucker on the other hand got a knife in the back." They chuckle, but my face just appears to show 'You serious, laughing!' so they stop
"The poisonous meadow, she was choking on poison, did you think she was going to make it past that?"
"Honestly, no. She was in a poisonous meadow, there really isn't many people who live through that."
"Remembering back to when she saved Tucker from drowning in the lake. Did you want them to team up?"
"Yes, if somebody is willing to beat the odds with my sister, they are practically family."
"Thanks Lily, that is all we need from you, we wish your sister good luck." Then they are gone, just like that.
I take a seat and watch my sister running. The screen is split up into 2 sections, Riley, and the girl from 7. They are both running from eagle mutations, but then I see something. The screens are beginning to look similar, they are nearing each other. I stand up, mouth open for what is coming ahead. The Games are going to end soon.
Tonight.
Thanks for reading my chapter on what the Games have done to District 12. I think that I left it on a cliffhanger, which I like :) . This story is coming to a close soon. I need to focus more on my Powerless story, which you should check out. Now, please review on all of my stories on what you like, and as always. CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM IS ALWAYS HELPFUL!
