Chapter 17- Sorry
(This is the chapter with only Jaden and Alexis, no twins. But Roxanne will appear in one part.)
3rd person POV
Jaden and the twins arrived home 30 minutes ago. Jaden was watching TV while the girls were in Katherine's room, Roxanne was out somewhere, and Alexis was… well, I'll not spoil the surprise.
Bang
"What was that noise?" Jaden asked himself, looking around. No one. He shrugged it off. Then he heard laughing. That had to be someone. He got off the couch and followed the laughing. It was coming from the basement. Alexis, he smiled.
Sure enough, when he got there Alexis was sitting on the loveseat in the corner of the basement, photo album in hand. This one looked familiar to him. The title was, "Duel Academy Days." Jaden smile and walked over to her, taking the seat next to her.
Alexis Jumped, "Oh, hey. Didn't see you there." She looked at Jay.
"Good." He chuckled. "Cause I just got here."
"You kept these?" she asked, ignoring that little remark.
"Yup!" he smiled, "I have 'em all. All kinds of 'em: trips, school, friends, … weddings."
"You still have the wedding pictures?" Alexis asked in awe.
"Mhm." He got up and went to a self. "Here we go." He pulled out an album from the self, handing it to Lex.
She looked at it and hesitated, but she took it none the less, flipping through the pages. She stopped at a picture. It was of her and Jaden, in the middle of their cake fun.
*Flashback* (In Alexis POV)
"Cake time!" Jasmine squealed, pushing me over to Jaden who was next to the cake.
I smiled at him, he smiled back.
"Ready?" he asked. I nodded happily.
He cut the cake into two slices and handed one to me, on a plate of course. I got my spoon and took a piece of the cake, as did Jay. He put the spoon up to my mouth ready to feed me, I opened my mouth. That's when it began. A cake fight. He smirked and instead put the cake on the tip of my nose, I gasped. I took a handful of the cake on my plate and threw it at Jay's face. I laughed like crazy. His face was covered in cake.
"Oh, you're on!" he laughed.
"CAKE FIGHT!" someone in the crowd yelled, they sounded scarcely like Jesse.
Cake was throwing in all different directions, I know a waste of cake. But what the hell, it was fun! Me and Jay were all covered in cake. I laughed at him, he laughed at me. Our foreheads were touching, my arms around his neck, his arms around my waiste. "You got cake on your face." He whispered softly to me.
"What ya gonna do about it?" I say back, the same way. He smiled and took his finger and slid it across my cheek, he ate it.
"Mmm." He teased, pulling me into him kissing me on my lips tenderly. Cake was still being thrown.
*Flashback ends* (Back to 3rd person POV)
Alexis let a lone tear leave her eye as she smiled a sad, longing smile. She missed his hugs, his kisses, his love, everything. Why did she let it all go?
"What happened to us?" Jaden asked her in that soft whisper. Looking at the picture too, remembering that beautiful moment.
"Wh-what do you mean?" she stuttered wiping away the tears forming in her eyes.
"You left without telling me a thing after only 2 years into the marriage. Only leaving a note, which I didn't find till the day after by the way." He scoffed, "I even called the police. You had me worried sick!"
"S-sorry, I'm sorry ok!" she couldn't take it anymore, she cried. "I- I had to. If I didn't… y-you would've- would've…"
"Would've what?" he demanded.
"It doesn't matter anymore." She said, "It's in the past…"
"Exactly!" he exclaimed, "So why can't you tell me? Lexi, you left without so much as a goodbye. You took Cassy with you. When I woke up and couldn't find you two, I went insane! I didn't even know who I had, who was gone, the girls were identical! They were only one! I never got over you, ya know… I never stopped loving you…"
"I didn't know you still loved me!" she cried, "I wouldn't love me, I'd hate me! I left without an explanation, taking Cassy with me, leaving you and Kathy behind. I was stupid, stupid because I didn't give you a chance to help me... I just ran..."
Alexis POV
He walked up to me and took my hand, "I'll say it again," he raised our intertwined hands and showed them to me, "I'll never, ever, stop loving you."
That's when I noticed it.
On Jay's ring finger was a shining silver wedding ring. Our wedding ring. I gasped. He followed my gaze. "I said never didn't I?" he smiled.
"Why'd you never take it off?" I asked, awe strucked.
"Because I meant what I said." He whispered. I looked into his eyes, they were filled with love. Exactly what they looked like when I arrived here, and I thought it was for Blair when he was looking directly at me.
"Prove it." Now I was teasing.
He chuckled, "Ok." He started leaning in. I gulped, long time no kiss….
When we were a millimeter away from each other, the door opened. I jumped back and looked at the door. Roxanne was standing in the doorway.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't know you guys were in here!" she smirked. "Did I interrupt something?"
I blushed, "Nothing at all Roxy," I smiled, "I'll be going now." I walked out before anyone could object.
That brought back memories. Oh, I remember the time we confessed like it was yesterday!
*Flashback*
It was about two weeks after graduation. Three weeks since I saw Jay. I still regret that day where I had the chance to tell him but didn't. I just wished that I could see him one last time, one last time was all I needed. And he'd stay if he felt the same… right?
I was in the park sitting on the bench minding my own business, reading a book.
"L-lexi?" an anxious voice asked behind me. That voice… no, it couldn't be. I slowly turned my head and gasped, dropping my book in the process.
"Jaden…" I lost it. Tears flew down my face. "Jaden!" I got up and ran over to him, not really caring that I was acting totally out of character, I let my emotions take control of my body. I tackled him in a hug.
"Woah!" Jaden laughed, "Easy girl." He put his arms around my waist and hugged me tightly. I buried my face into his neck. "I missed you." He whispered softly to me.
I smiled, I didn't care what your reaction is anymore, I can't deny these feelings toward you… "I love you." I whispered back. I felt his heart beat quicken.
"I love you, too…" he admitted. I couldn't tell if he was joking with me or not.
"Prove it." I smiled to myself. Will he? He shrugged.
"Okay." He pulled me toward him and smirked. I blushed. Then I felt his soft, sweet lips against mine. That was all that mattered in that small moment.
*End Flashback*
I remembered what he said to me, ' I could never stop loving you.'
Well, guess what? Me neither, I could never stop loving you.
Sorry for the long wait... again. I'm pretty sure that the next chapter will be the last one. Then I have to work on 'A Huge Misunderstanding' and my new story I'm making. I'll see you later reader. Hope you have/had a great day.
