Meanwhile, downstairs, Harry was on Severus's lap where he received eight hard swats to his bottom and was sent to bed. Severus hugged him and told him he was forgiven, and to go to sleep after his night out.
Then he called Maggie to bring down Eli, and sat his son down so they could talk.
"Eli, you know you're not to leave this house at night. Not only did you disobey me, but you got Harry to do it as well. "
"I'm sorry dad. I just could not sleep and thought it would have been fun."
"You know what the punishment for disobeying me is, Eli?"
"Yes a spanking dad over your knee. But please, I don't want one. I'm really sorry and it won't happen again. Dad, please."
Severus looked stern. "Eli, Harry got spanked. You don't think it's fair that he got spanked and you did not when it was your idea, do you Eli?"
"No, dad."
"Now come here Eli. Lets get this over with. pull down your pants and lay across my lap, son."
Once Eli had done that, he got the same eight hard swats that Harry had. Severus hugged him as well, then told him he was forgiven and then sent him right to bed to fall to sleep.
After that, Severus went back to bed to get some sleep as well.
The next day, Harry and Eli came downstairs, looking pale. They both sat at the table for wait for breakfast. The food appeared on the table when Severus sat down. He glanced at his sons and gave them permission to eat.
When he saw that they were only picking at their meal he asked if they were both all right.
Eli looked up to his dad and said, "No daddy, I don't feel good at all. I think I am going to sick up soon." Right before he said "sick up," Harry was throwing up what little he had eaten.
Severus came over to reassure his sons, and told them to go back upstairs to their bedrooms, to get in to bed except if they needed the bathroom.
Before Severus went upstairs, he retrieved two thermometers from the medicine chest, and asked Maggie to make plain buttered toast for the boys.
Severus went into Eli's room first, to take his temperature and to examine him to see if he needed to call Poppy. He took his son's temperature and the thermometer read 101.5°. Maggie entered with the toast and glasses of ice water for both of them. Severus asked her to set up the guest room with three beds, so that he could watch over his sons. He also asked for her to help Eli to the guest room and he would help Harry.
Severus went to Harry's room but he was not there. He looked in the bathroom and found that he was throwing up again. He went to him and began to rub Harry's back and helped him wipe his face. He helped Harry back to bed to take his temperature. When that was done, learned that Harry's fever was higher than Eli's that it was 102.4°F. He picked Harry up and carried him to the guest room with Eli who was already a sleep and laid Harry down and went to call Poppy to have her find out what was wrong with his sons.
He used the floo to contact Poppy, telling her what was going on. When she came through, he took her upstairs where the boys were sleeping. She cast several spells before turning to Severus to say "They both have Dragon Pox and need fluids, lots of rest, and three different potions twice a day. Harry will need one more because he will end up getting the spots. Eli will not get them. I will give you the potions so you can stay with your sons."
Poppy handed Severus two weeks' worth of medicine and a salve for Harry when he developed itchy spots of Dragon Pox.
Severus said goodbye to Poppy and awoke his sons to give them their first dose for the medicines.
"Eli my sweet boy, wake up for daddy."
"Daddy, I don't feel good, I'm going to throw up."
Severus conjured a bucket just in time for his son and created another for Harry as well and left it near his bed.
"It's ok son, I have some medicine that I need you to take for me, please."
"No daddy, they don't taste good. I don't want them, I feel bad enough."
"Please Eli, it will make you feel a little better. Can you just take them? You can have some water after and some toast. There are only three of them. I will help you."
Severus uncorked the first potion and held it up to his son's mouth and tipped it in. As Eli swallowed it, Severus gave him water and repeated this two more times then gave Eli some toast.
When he eating Eli looked up and said, "Daddy will you tuck me in, I'm tired."
"Of course, son." He does just that and then watched as Eli fell back to sleep.
Then he went to Harry and woke him up.
"Harry baby, wake up for daddy, would you please?"
Harry opened his eyes and looked at his father and said "It hurts, daddy. Make it stop. I feel so bad and so hot. please help me, daddy, please."
Severus sat down on the bed and said "I know, baby. I have some medicine for you that will help you feel better will you take them for me."
"I not allowed medicine."
"Yes you are, baby. I will give you some water after each one. Let me help make you better."
"Ok daddy, I will." As he opened his mouth and swallowed the first potion and water. He then shut his mouth. "I don't want no more. They taste bad. Please no more, please daddy, please."
Severus looked at his son saying "I know they don't taste good, but they will help you. Please take the other two so that you can get better and play with Eli when you're both better."
Harry opened his mouth for the second time and swallowed the potion and started to cry. "Please no more, I no like them. Please oh please daddy, stop."
"There is only one more baby," Severus said as he wiped Harrys face. "Just one more. Can you do that for daddy, please Harry."
Harry just shook his head no and kept his mouth shut.
"Oh please Harry. I will make sure you get something special once you are all better and we will go get you one toy for being so good. How does that sound?"
"Ok, I take it," Harry said as he opened his mouth and swallowed the last of the potion and water and then ate a bit of toast before falling asleep.
Severus tucked him in and sat down watching both his sweet little boys sleep, and began to read a potions book.
