Sorry it's been a little while, Kids! Uni is now finished so I should hopefully have a little more time… I know I say that every update but…

A week passed and Piper found herself settling back into prison life far easier than she had expected and, if she were honest with herself, had hoped. The early morning showers, the talk over breakfast, the game of scrabble Nicky and Alex played in the rec room. Nothing really changed here.
So when Lily Crane walked through the prison doors, Piper looked on curiously. She wasn't the only one.
"She's quite something" Nicky said behind Pipers shoulder, a lecherous grin on her face and an eyebrow raised. Piper nodded. Lily looked exactly like one would expect a 'Lily' to look. Long blonde hair that ran down her back in hipster waves and huge wide eyes flitting around her wildly taking in her new home.
"What the hell did that one do?" Alex asked with a sly smile as she appeared from down the corridor and stood with the other girls, eyeing up the newbies that followed Morella like lost children.
"Kill puppies?" Nicky mused. The girl looked like she wouldn't hurt anything, let alone commit a crime that could land her in prison. Piper let out a small laugh and turned to the other women.
"Well I'm sure we'll hear about it soon. Nothing stays secret in here for long". Nicky and Alex looked at each other, seemingly in agreement and the three made their way to the rec room.
"Well she's definitely going to be on Big Boos' list. I'm surprised she's not here already, checking out the new meat and staking her claim."
"And you're not going to, Nichols? She looks exactly like your kind – that little girl lost, easy target kind?" Piper asked, picking up a pack of cards and beginning to deal them out.
"Nah, not for me. I'm off pussy for a while. Too much fucking hassle" she shrugged, picking her cards up and fanning them out. Piper laughed and then realised she was the only one to do so. She looked over at Alex who seemed more interested in her cards than her friends entire change of personality. Looking between the two women.
"You're kidding, right? You off women?" Piper scoffed. "Yeah right". Nicky shrugged.
"Too much time and effort. Besides, why go for the little fish when you can have the big, sexy ones?" A secretive grin lit up her face but her eyes still didn't leave the cards.
"Big sexy fish? Like who?" Piper asked, curiosity piqued. Nicky shrugged again, this time laying down a card.
"I don't know, Chapman. Any that may come along and take an interest in my hook, if you catch my drift" Nicky winked. Piper did not, in fact, catch her drift but she got the general gist. Piper played her card and waited for Alex to take her turn.
"What makes you think the newbie might not be that fish, Nichols? She might turn out to be quite the little prize?" Alex asked with a smirk.
"Nah. I think I have my eye in a far better prize. One with sexy as fuck glasses and a height mutation" Nicky raised an eyebrow and threw Alex one of her lopsided grins. Piper rolled her eyes and laughed as Alex pretended to preen herself, wrapping a tendril of dark hair around her finger, before laying down her card.
"You two are ridiculous"
"Yup" they replied in unison.

"What's your name, hon?" Morello asked the young blonde as she guided her to her new dorm.
"Lily" the girl said with more confidence than Morello expected from the seemingly skittish girl.
"Pretty name. What's your surname? Everyone goes by their last names here" Morello smiled. Lily paused for a second.
"Crane." Morello nodded in approval. "So is it really that bad in here? Because everyone looks kind of….normal" Lily asked. Morello guided her into the dorm and pointed to a bed.
"That's yours. Oh, we're one big happy family around here" she grinned "you'll fit in in no time. Now these are for you" she handed Lily a toothbrush and a small bar of soap and gave her a friendly smile. Leaning in closer, she said in a lower voice "they don't give them to you but" – she winked – "we stick together around here". Lily gave her a grateful smile and nodded, eyes wide. Morello turned and made her way towards the door. Turning, she looked at the new girl who was staring at her bed with disgust. "You'll be alright" she said plainly.
And she was sure that she would be. She seemed sweet enough.

Dinner time came and Piper wandered into the canteen with her stomach grumbling. Collecting her food as quickly as possible, she dropped her tray next to Jones and began to shovel food into her mouth. Big Boo threw her a disgusted look from across the table.
"You're like an animal" she commented. Piper scoffed.
"Like you can talk". Big Boo gave her back a smirk and shrugged in agreement, turning back to her tray. Sister Ingalls nudged Jones beside her and nodded towards the door, causing the table to turn and look to see what it was that had caught her eye. Numerous women at the table let out little laughs at seeing newbie Lily standing with a clearly unsure look on her face and her eyes wide.
"Here we go" Nicky mumbled. Morello gave the woman beside her an amused and reproachful look before she stood up slightly and beckoned the young girl over to them. Her face was instantly overcome with relief and she scurried over to the group of white women.
"You can sit with us, Lily. It's always hard to know what to do on your first day" she smiled and Lily took a seat at the end of the table next to Nicky.
"Yeah, you just settle yourself riiiight there. I'll make sure you settle in okay" Nicky grinned, leaning in slightly closer to the girl and bumping her shoulder.
"I thought you were off women, Nichols?" Piper asked with an eyebrow raised. Nicky lifted a shoulder nonchalantly.
"Just being friendly, Chapman" she winked. Cutting off the younger womens conversation, Sister Ingalls leant over towards Lily slightly.
"How are you settling in?" she asked. Lily looked at her for a moment as if she was trying to suss her out and then shrugged, her eyes downcast to her tray. The sad expression fixed on her face could clearly be seen despite the curtain of hair that nearly covered her features.
"Okay, I guess" was all she offered. There was a moment of silence at the table as all women waited for her to elaborate but it became clear very quickly that she wouldn't. It was Alex who eventually broke it.
"So, what did you actually do to get thrown in here?" her deep voice carrying from the other side of the table where she was sat. Nicky nodded next to her, leaning her head on her hand and waiting for an answer.
"Yeah what the fuck was it? 'Cause you don't really look like you fit in here, ya know? You don't look like you'd be one of Vause's girs. I see you as more of a tree loving naked kinda girl." A thought seemed to occur to her "was it indecency? Did you show your tits and pussy to kids?" she asked, eyes wide and scandalous. It took a moment for the girl to move her eyes from Alex who she had looked at intensely as soon as Nicky had mentioned her surname – it was actually slightly unnerving and Alex had exchanged a glance with Jones to see if she had been imagining the long stare – but she gave Nicky a quick look of disgust before her sad look settled over her face once more.
"I don't want to talk about it" was all she mumbled and the girls let out a chorus of 'ooooooh's'.
"God, this one is just like you when you came in, Chapman" Big Boo piped up. Piper, who had been watching on with interest but choosing to focus on her food rather than contribute, looked up and gave Boo a sarcastic smile.
"Fuck off" she said with a small smile, flicking a fleck of mash potato at her.
"She kinda is though, Chapman. Got that whole doe eyed innocent shit going on" Nicky piped in. Holding her hands up, she did her best WASP impression. "Ohh, god no. I only eat organic. No doors on the toilet stalls? Vile! And people have seen me naked in the bathroom?" she let out an exaggerated shiver of disgust which made Morello laugh loudly.
"Yeah, well I can beat you the fuck down too if you want, Nichols. Come at me" Piper said smugly with a shoulder shrug which caused the table to laugh. Alex, sat a couple of people down from Piper, lifted one eyebrow.
"You're far too fucking white to say that shit" she drawled, a smile tugging at her lips.
"You gotta stop that shit, Chapman. You beat up one hick and you think you're the big shit" Boo grinned.
"Even out of here you weren't a fucking bad ass, Pipes". Piper looked down to Alex and gave her the finger. "Mind you, I don't remember you being the little girl lost you were when you came in here either" she said with her eyebrows raised in the signature Alex way. Nicky gave a wolf whistle and turned back to Lily as the rest of the table laughed.
"See, Hippy. One day you could be a giant confusing fuck up like Chapman over there" she turned back to the rest of the table and stage whispered "anything's better than that boring as shit going on now. You're welcome to her, Boo".
Jones and Sister Ingalls exchanged small exasperated smiles while the rest of the women laughed loudly and continued with their usual meal time banter. Piper, scooping up the last of her potato, looked around at the women around her and thanked god she was no longer the left out, intimidated newbie that she had once been. Looking over at the women in question, she paused, her fork half way to her mouth. With noones attention on her, Lily had her eyes firmly fixed on the back of Nickys head and the look on her face was far from the innocent, scared little girl look that Piper had seen so far. Her piercing blue eyes narrowed and her brow furrowed, she was glaring darkly at the woman sat laughing next to her. Apparently feeling Pipers eyes upon her, she quickly glanced over to her and within a split second, the glare was gone and the new girl was sat staring at her tray once more, the picture of innocence.
Looking quickly to see if anyone had seen the change come over the girl, Piper realised that they hadn't and mentally marked Lilys card.
After all, nobody was innocent in here.
