"Stares blankly" Well, I'll be damned. I'm done.
Thank you to who have read my story to this point, I hope if nothing else my story has entertained you for a little while. May all of you who are lost be found, and those who are found never be lost.
Please Enjoy.
Epilogue-
Jake wiped his eye with a tissue and handed it off to Beth, who also took a turn wiping her eyes. They, along with their friends and various rulers and representatives-all covered with flame shield of course- stood in assemblage with the citizens of the Flame Kingdom. Today was the day that Flame Queen was officially crowned in front of her subjects as the High Ruler of the Ancient Burning Lands, with Finn as her future King Consort.
Their little man was engaged!
They watched with pride as the humble hero took his place beside his Queen, a cute blush dusting his cheeks. His usual hat was off and in its place he wore an iron circlet upon his bare head- simply for the sake of the ceremony, mind- his golden, tousled locks clean and actually combed a little.
As the ceremony completed a cheer rang up from all, fire confetti was thrown in the air and everyone was smiling, even those who still held a "torch" for Finn or Flame Queen. Jake and Lady Rainicorn held on to one another, looking for all the world like proud parents. Furnius and Torcho cheered for their sister, proud to be part of her benevolent court.
Princess Bubblegum allowed herself a large, and relieved, grin. Happy that all had worked out. She shared this grin with Marceline, who stood beside her and casually draped an arm around her waist and kissed her upon the cheek, for all to see. She did not mind-as long as she kept it sedate while in public.
Peppermint Butler watched this with a smile, happy that his Princess was content.
Flame Queen Elinor Justine Sula locked eyes with her intended and felt the warm fire of Love burn brightly within her; she held out a gloriously burning white hand toward him. King Consort-to-be Finn Mertens took it without hesitation with his flesh hand, his own love obvious upon his young face. The cheers only grew louder at the display.
Beth let out a loud holler for her brother and her smile only grew bigger as she felt fingers slip between her own, she turned to Huntress Wizard who gave a small smile in return.
Simon Petrikov watched all of this, his thoughts a mixture of happiness and grief. He had lost a world, a life…a love, for now…but before him lay a new world. A new life. He let his hand brush against the Ice Crown, which hung from his hip, silent and only slightly cold.
He had been lost for so long, but now he had found his way back home.
They all had.
Yes, he would never forget the past. But the future was bright and full of adventure for him now. For them all. He could live with that.
