Neji Hyuuga had no clue why he was doing what he was doing. Stalking the annoying, loud, Idiot,blonde, ninja. Even after the blonde had beat him in the chunin exams and the clan head apologizing to him, he was still skeptical about the boy becoming Hokage, after-all Kages did not get to their position by just brute strength, they were smart and experienced in how the world work. Now Naruto could gain real world experience no problem, the problem came with smarts, the blonde didn't have them, and he was naive and oblivious. However, despite all that the Hyuuga prodigy just couldn't see Naruto failing at gaining his objective. That put a smile on Neji's face, which he shook off. Why the hell was he so happy at thinking about someone else future and happiness. Neji watched the blond as he walked with Sasuke and Itachi to their training spot with Kakashi. It was odd that Itachi had started joining the pair it would have made since after Sasuke failed the chunin exams to insure the boy was getting stronger at an acceptable pace, but that wasn't so. It was two months after the exams that the man bothered with the two the odd thing was he seemed more concerned with Naruto instead of his own brother now that was just weird and suspicious. The Hyuuga boy couldn't help but go see Naruto from a distance more often now the elder Uchiha was around.
However, since Neji wasn't as skilled at stalking as his cousin Hinata he usually got caught, by none other than Naruto himself, and would always make up some excuse to go somewhere else. The Hyuuga really didn't want to speak to the blonde in front of others, especially Sasuke. That brat always decided to go with them when Neji just wanted to be alone with the blonde boy, and now Itachi decided to tag along too. Having just Sasuke around was one thing but both Uchiha brothers that was intimidating. Neji hit his against a wall damn how was it had turn into Hinata when talking to Naruto. Neji Hyuuga didn't run away damn it. Hmmm now this was interesting it seemed Itachi and Sasuke started fighting, and Naruto was walking away, and he didn't seem to be too aware of his surroundings. Now the blond might have been less than capable at sensing chakra, but the boy was usually and oddly observant of his visual surroundings, unless he was in a forest. Here Neji was standing right out in the open and Naruto just walked right passed him. Normally Naruto would stop to say hi and chat with a big smile on his face, but now he just looked down. LIke everyone else Neji couldn't stand to see Naruto so upset. So he called out to the boy
"Oh Neji hi how are you I didn't see you where'd you come from "Neji Sighed at how Naruto plastered a huge fake grin on his face.
"Naruto I was practically standing in the middle of the road and you passed me "
The blondes smile faltered a bit then he started rubbing the back of his head
"Oh sorry you know I can be oblivious at..." The Hyuuga cut him off
"You're never that oblivious Naruto I'm not Sakura that excuse won't work, and I know something's wrong do you want to talk about it?"
"Well nothing's really wrong Neji I'm fine I'm just..."The Blonde was cut off before he could finish his lie, by Neji grabbing his arm and pulling them into the closest place which happened to be a coffee shop. Neji forcibly sat the younger boy down at a table
"Don't lie you and I will sit here until you tell me what's wrong were friends Naruto I want to help you." Naruto paused did Neji just say they were friends, they were friends. He didn't really hang out much with the other boy but Neji still called them friends, and he didn't he didn't pause afterwards when he said it like Sakura did. Naruto was so happy he jumped up and hugged Neji
"You really mean that?"
"Of Course I do I would never say something I do not mean, now could you let go please so we can talk" The blonde blush brightly, let go, and sat down.
"Now I'm going to go get us a couple of drinks you sit here and maul over what's been bugging you" Naruto nodded his head and when Neji left he giggled a little bit when he thought of how much like Iruka Neji was acting like just now. When Naruto thought about it he really wanted to let out what was bugging him. When the elder boy came back instead of just two coffees he had a tray with two coffees a bottle of caramel and chocolate like twenty little cups of cream and sugar.
"I like my coffee black, but I didn't think you'd appreciate black coffee i think you'd like it sweet, however how sweet is up you take your time ."
"Iruka gave me coffee when I asked once and I didn't like it I didn't know you could put sugar in it.
"Most people put a little bit of both cream and sugar in theirs most can't stand it black. Naruto spent the next ten minutes putting cream and sugar in his Coffee to get it to how he like it and then drizzled with caramel and chocolate. Until he was satisfied with the taste. It amazed Neji to how much concentration the boy seemed to put into making his drink. "You are an unexpectedly focused person Naruto."
"Really I've never heard that before"
"Yes when you want to be you can be quite focused it is surprising, but back to why we're here you're seem to be sad today why"
"Thank you for the complement Neji, ha you're right there's something wrong well nothing really wrong but something I've been feeling down about since this morning and Itachi-san and Sasuke just made things worse even though they didn't so intentionally." Naruto paused. Neji waited patiently for Naruto to continue.
"It started out this morning When I was um Well I was buying Undergarments "It was cute the jinchuriki's face flushed at the mention of undergarments, but Neji kept his face stoic,
And waited for Naruto to continue. "and well the manager of the store charged me twice as much as they were on the signs I Tried arguing but he put his foot down and said that if I didn't pay the price I would be kicked out and not allowed back and that was the store I could afford to buy from, so I bought them. Now the brunette knew that he forced Naruto to talk but the boy was on the brink of tears, he didn't have any idea on how to comfort someone, but he still tried
"Naruto its ok what happened this morning is in the past tomorrow a different day and you won't have to bother with that manager for a good while now."
The blond managed a meager smile and thanked Neji and Continued. "Well because I had to go home to get more money and come back to buy my undergarments I was going to be late.
So I had to take them with me Sakura and Sasuke were really curious as to what I had I asked Kakashi sensei to take care of my stuff"
"Wait you trust that pervert with that kind of stuff"
"yeah but that's a story for another time"
"Alright then continue on I'm sorry for the interruption"
"Well we were training today working on traps when Itachi showed up he scared me and I fell into my own trap and ripped my pants farther up than was well advised Sasuke was nearby and he came by to see what happened since he sensed his brothers chakra . Well he saw me pulled in to Itachis chest and freaked, and for reasons I'm not ready to tell you Itachi was just holding me close to hide the ripe in my pants that showed well you know what. Sasuke asked Itachi what the hell he was doing with me, and that he should let me go cause we were in the middle of a training session. Itachi then stated that I wouldn't be participating anymore and took off with me in his arms. And Sasuke chased after us. Itachi found Kakashi-sensei and passed me off to him. Sasuke demanded to know what was going on. I was going to tell him what was going on when Kakashi poofed of with me. Well me and Sensei came back like 20 minutes later. Sakura was trying to get the two to stop from arguing .when they saw me Itachi asked me to explain that what happened was not of Sasuke's business then Sasuke said of course it was that we teammates and that whatever happened to me was his concern too. I wanted to tell Sasuke I mean he said he cared for me Sasuke doesn't say that kind of thing often but then Itachi said Sasuke just said that to satisfy his curiosity. I wasn't sure if I should trust that Sasuke was sincere or Itachi. Of course Kakashi said that we couldn't train if Itachi kept interrupting things and that since this revolved around me that the three of us should figure things out together. We were walking home I told Sasuke I'd tell him about things, but Itachi was trying to convince me not to that's where you met me.
"That sounds exhausting Naruto I am curious as to why it was really necessary to hide your underclothing since you are a boy but I'll ignore it for now " Neji saw Naruto breathe a sigh of relief when he stated that he'd drop the subject revolving his underwear. "Naruto for as long I've known you you've always been one to keep your word I believe you should tell Sasuke you've always been determined always known where you want to go. But answer me this do you trust Sasuke?"
"OF Course I do how could I not"
"Then what are you afraid of if you trust him"
"Thank you Neji" Naruto jumped across the table to hug the Hyuuga landing them in the floor. With Naruto straddling and Hugging Neji.
"My My my doesn't this look like a troublesome little predicament I found you two in."
Both of them looked up to see.
