My Boarding School

Author's Note

I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING! I was so busy updating Iridescent :( Okay, don't kill me. Also, you may not completely like this chapter if you like Fax. It's not like there's Dylan or Bridget, but Fang and Max argue a bit. Yeah, um, but that's part of their relationship's healing process, I think. Sorry. But, there's a slight twist at the end. And I know you will all love the ending.

SOOOO read and review and all that. Hope you guys enjoy this chapter. *hands readers virtual cookies and bird DNA for being so loyal to this awful writer who loves converse*

"No, I didn't, you imbecile!" I screamed, lunging forwards to attack my former best friend.

He snarled, an evil glint in his dark eyes as he dodges my attack. "No, you're the idiot! I can't believe you, who would suggest painting a teacher's classroom hot pink and decorating it with unicorns? That is so immature and just like you!" he yelled, letting a fist fly. I nimbly jumped over his attack and tried for a flying kick to his jaw, but he just grabbed my other leg and slammed me to the ground. I flipped him off and prepared to-

"GUYS, YOU WORK TOGETHER OR I WILL FUDGING TAKE BOTH OF YOU OFF OF THE PRANKING TEAM!" Anika screamed. I winced, covering my ears. "Anika, can you please not scream? I would like to keep my ears, thank you very much," I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

She sniffed, shaking her head. "No way. If you don't stop fighting, I'm afraid you will be no use to this team," she said. My eyes narrowed and replied dangerously, "I'm the one who created this stupid team. So, please, I think I should be the one taking people off the team."

Anika met my gaze and answered in a calm voice, "Max, I'm invoking VP Queen of Pranking rules. If the team votes you off the team, then you're off, no matter what your position is," she said. My jaw dropped. "Seriously? What the hell is that? I thought creating those stupid titles was a joke, and you're actually - ugh, you guys made this club so lame!"

I stormed out of the room, fuming.

"Max, Max, Max!" I ignored the voice behind me, chasing me. I didn't care who it was, and I was too mad to see how it was. The person yanked my arm, forcing me to face him.

To my utter surprise, it was Ratchet. I had nothing against him, so I listened to what he had to say.

"Max, uh, both of you are really stubborn. You and Fang. Dude, you're really killing him. I understand Fang. He misses you a lot, but his pride has been hurt too much and that's why he's not apologizing. I know he should probably apologize, but please be the bigger person in this situation. You will be happy in the end. It's the only situation."

I glared. "Well, I don't want to be the bigger person! It's not in my blood to back down, and I sure as hell don't want to. So, just run back there and tell them I quit." I started to turn away as soon as I finished these words, but Ratchet's next words stopped me.

"I'll help you prank them."

I grinned, facing him. "Now you're talking. What's the deal?" I asked. Ratchet sighed. "It'll be just between us, okay? And the deal is that you apologize and make a truce with Fang. Come back to the pranking game, too. 'Kay?"

I tilted my head, thinking. It would be worth it, and I really didn't want Fang and I to be enemies. I mean, we had been best friends. You can't exactly hate a guy who was your former best friend. Besides, I wanted to see just how good Ratchet's pranking skills were.

I groaned, throwing my right hand out for him to shake. "Fine. You got yourself a deal, moron. I'm warning you, I won't be nice to him."

Ratchet grinned, taking his sunglasses off and shaking my hand. "Were you ever?"

Both of us walked back into the dorm room with Ratchet in front of me. I pulled on a slightly strained but calm expression on my face. Ratchet winked at me, and mouthed, "You can do it." I glared at him and turned to Fang, who was studying a lay-out of the school.

"Excuse me, Fang. I'm sorry about being so mean. Really, I am. Can you accept my apology?" I asked, gritting my teeth and trying to sound sincere. Fang eyed me for a second before slowly nodding. I heard all of the others behind me cheer. Meaning Alex, Ash, Anika, Kate, Nudge, Iggy, Ratchet, and Star.

Alex swooped in and said, "Congrats, guys! You have called a truce, so now-"

I turned on her. "Please. We'll just figure out three pranks and we'll be done for."

Alex sighed and nodded, pulling out a notebook. I looked down to tie my shoes, so I didn't notice the sly look of mischief on Alex's face.

*ALEX'S POINT OF VIEW*

While we chatted about different pranks and how funny they would be, Nudge and I were planning another prank. One to get our dear friends Max and Fang back together - hopefully.

I was scribbling in my notebook an discreetly showing ideas. After we were done, we would call Iggy and Ratchet away from the two bickering children and ask him to set it up. They had created an excuse, saying they had to ditch for a tutoring session. I knew Max didn't believe the excuse, but she let it pass. Fang, however, was too busy talking to Anika about pranks anyway.

Ratchet had convinced Max that she and him would prank Fang today in his dorm. Dylan had been notified and he promised to stay clear of his room. In reality, her idea was false and this would be the exact location of where we would prank Fang and Max. Fang believed that he had to meet Dylan and talk about important football plays. Dylan had opened the door for Ratchet and Iggy, allowing them to mess up the room and prepare.

Both of them were absolutely wrong.

Max's phone rang. She picked it up quickly. "Um, hey, Ratch - I mean, uh, Rachel," she amended, shooting Fang a worried look before proceeding after realizing he was too focused on something else. I grinned at Nudge. Ratchet was brilliant! This would verify Max's thinking that she would prank Fang.

"Uh, thanks so much! I didn't know you would go this far. I'm glad you already set up the entire plan. Thanks," she said, snickering. "Oh, Fang will be in a world of hurt."

"You said my name?" Fang asked with a confused expression, staring at Max. Her eyes widened and she shook her head. "Oh, no. Um, okay, gotta go, Ra- Rachel." She hung up.

Nudge and I high-fived behind out chairs. Part 1 was completed and part 2 was underway. "Can we please call it the end of the meeting today?" I pleaded, shooting Max my best puppy eyes. Anika noticed my significant look and joined in. "Yeah, please! I'm really tired and I gotta, er, study for my Chemistry test. I suck at Chemistry and I seriously need to study."

"I have to study for English and listen to Green Day," Ash chimed in dully.

Nudge was the one who finally broke her resolve, producing the world's best Bambi eyes.

Max sighed. "All right. Let's call it a day. See you guys later. I have to catch up with Ra- I mean, Rachel, so that's a good idea."

I cheered inwardly. Part 2 ready with part 3 set. Now began part 3 - getting Fang and Max to be friends. All of us headed towards our dorms, waiting for Ratchet to call and tell us the signal. Max and Fang went to their respective dorms, but Iggy managed to prevent him from going right away.

Max hurriedly knocked on Fang's door, hoping for Ratchet to open up and have the prank completely prepared. The rest of us hid behind the corner, watching carefully. Kate's phone vibrated, and she read the message on the screen. "He's ready. He's told Iggy to come because Max is in the dorm. We have to sneak in when the prank is in motion. "

Everyone sighed in relief. "Yes. OMG, they're going to be friends again," Nudge said, grinning. "If it works, " I put in, trying not to raise all of our hopes up.

Iggy steered Fang back to his dorm, asking, "Hey, uh, I think I may have let Dylan borrow my Biology textbook so can we just go in there and get it for me? I gotta study." Fang agreed and opened his room.

We carefully followed Fang and Iggy, sneaking in. We would pretend that we needed help with stuff or some sad excuse like that. Fang wouldn't even be able to answer to our ridiculous questions. He would be too busy being pranked.

"Uh, hey, Fang, um -" And I started screaming. The room was pitch black. Fang cursed, asking, "Why the hell are you in here!"

"You see, we - "

That was when the final stage began.

MAX

I screamed, trying to not lose balance as Ratchet pushed me out of my hiding spot and made my land on the trip wire, successfully causing the sticky net to force me onto the opposite wall. I squirmed, trying to get out. My mind whirled with anger and questions. Ratchet had betrayed me, using my own prank against me!

I heard another person scream but I didn't know what was happening since it was completely dark.

And then, another warm body landed on me, both of us trying to move.

Our lips landed on each other's, and we couldn't do anything about it. My eyes snapped open as I felt the person's lips on mine. The person's lips instinctively moved, and I kissed back. Even in the dark, I knew who's lips those were. No mistaking it. I was melting inside and a warm shudder went up and down my spine.

Fang.
