Fairy wings

"Erza!" Mirajane called from across the guild hall smirking at the said girl "I have eaten your strawberry cake!" At this point Mira had all Erza's attention and in an instant the redhead lunged for the demon. The sheer force of their fists colliding caused a tremor big enough to knock over everyone withi range.

"Onee-san" Elfman and Lisanna both yelled in sync, not understanding why their sister needed to start a fight with the red head almost every day.

Luckily for them master happened to be in the 5m radius and due to his annoyance of falling over and the fact the guild hall could be destroyed he decided to break up the fight.

"Enough brats! You two are as bad as Natsu and Gray!" He yelled stopping the fight immediately. Erza turned to him immediately and gave an apology; however, Mirajane did nothing of the sort. Instead she just let out an annoyed sigh and sat down mumbling about how she would get Erza next time.

Elfman let out a big sigh of relief and turned to check how the rest of the guild was doing. Apparently everyone was fine as they went back to what they were originally doing. From the corner of his eye he saw the new girl sitting in the corner, all by herself, slowly sipping on her orange juice carton.

She looked so lonely, Elfman thought and wished that he had the confidence to go over and introduce himself but he just couldn't. He wasn't strong and confident like both his sisters; he couldn't even do a fullbody takeover.

Evergreen, that was the girl's name. He liked it because the name reminded him of the forest and the sweet smells that came along with it. She had only joined the guild last month and he'd barley seen her interacting with anyone in guild except Freed, Bickslow and Laxus. He hoped that she would interact with the other guild members as he had actually never seen the girl smile before. I know, he thought to himself that what I'm going to do, I'm going to make her smile and feel more welcome into the guild.

"Are you okay?" Lisanna spoke very concerned about her big brother. "Yeah I'm fine" He smiled reassuring his sister.

"Okay! Me and Natsu-san are going to see the egg!"

"Just be home for dinner" she nodded in reply and ran out the guild with Natsu.

Elfman walked out of the guildhall about an hour later after playing cards with Cana. He needed to grab a few ingredients before he could make dinner, so he headed into the market.

Elfman managed to retrieve all of his needed Ingredients carrying them in a woven basket. The house that he and his sister lived in was a 20 minute walk as they could only get one on the outskirts of town but Elfman loved it as it was cosy and no one was mean to them like they were where they previously lived. Especially to Mira. Also the landlord let them have it at a good price as long as Elfman made her pies every week.

Elfman took in all the scenery of Magnolia as he made his way back home smiling to himself when he caught a glimpse of brown hair.

There stood Evergreen. Her hand was pressed against the window of the Toy shop as she stared dreamily at something. Then she looked down at her hand where around 100 jewels were in utter disappointment, before turning away from the wings and heading in the opposite directing to Elfman.

Frowning he approached the window curious as to what she had been looking at. In the window were some pale pink fairy wings and from the bottom of the left wing hung a giant price reading 20000 Jewels.

The next morning the Strauss family went on a mission worth 1200000. All they had to do was investigate the disappearance of a rare jewel from some rich guy's house. The mission wasn't patricianly hard the only issue they had was tracking it down as the man's information wasn't entirely accurate but they still managed to find the men who had stolen the Jewel and found that although they were great thieves, they were terrible at fighting.

So the Jewel was returned within not time and with all the money they made they managed to pay all this month's bills and have 60600 left over which was divided between the 3 siblings to spend as they pleased.

Elfman was really excited that he had 20200 Jewels. Usually they only had a couple of 100 Jewels left over from their missions so he was super happy. Now he could buy that robot toy he saw in Benny's Toy Shop last week. At that thought he was really excited and he practically ran to the shop his smile plastered to his face.

The bell rung as he opened the door to the toy shop, he ran to the back of the shop to where the robot was placed. His full attention was on this toy so he didn't hear the bell go again signalling the arrival of a new customer, he however did hear yelling, pleading and huffs of protest.

Picking up the toy he approached the cash register where the owner stood arguing with Evergreen.

"Come on I promise I will pay you back!" She pleaded with hopeful eyes

"No money, no toy. That's the rules little lady, now hurry along so I can serve people who can actually afford their toys. Come back when you have 20000 Jewels" The grumpy man replied in annoyance.

"STUPID OLD MAN!" Evergreen grumbled slamming the shop door behind her.

Elfman stared down at the toy in his hands feeling guilty. He promised himself that he would try to make Evergreen feel like a real part of Fairy Tail, so she could make good friends like he had. She looked like she really wanted those wings and it would be selfish of him to buy this Robot when he could use his money on to make his guild mate happy and feel like she was a true part of Fairy Tail and had friends that care for her.

Maybe they could be Friends.

He could always get the robot some other time anyway.

Putting the toy on a nearby shelf, he approached the cashier. "Could I buy the Fairy wings in the window?" he asked showing the man the 20000 Jewels it was worth.

The man eyed him weird at first confused as to why a boy would want Fairy wings but then concluded they were for a younger sister or something. "Sure" He replied taking the money and handing over the wings to Elfman.

It was evening by the time Elfman found Evergreen sitting on a wall near the guild hall. "Hey" He greeted his voice sounded a bit weird due to his nervousness. Clearly the young mage had been crying as her brown eyes were rimmed with red as she tried her hardest to get rid of the tears.

"Hi" She replied not facing Elfman, hoping he would go away.

"My names Elfman. Um…I'm sorry I haven't introduced myself earlier, I was just nervous, I noticed you haven't made many friends at the guild yet. So I thought we coul-" Elfman began to rant but was cut off by Evergreen.

"Are you saying I don't have any friends?!" she yelled jumping of the wall facing Elfman glaring intensely at him.

"For your information, I do have friends!" She began poking him in the chest anger practically rolling off her.

"I am friends with Freed, Bickslow and Laxus!" She yelled poking him in the chest again. "Is that all? Or are you going to insult me again!"

Elfman began to panic realising that this wasn't going to plan "I didn't mean to…um I just meant…im sorry! Um…I was…well…I saw you…um…looking at these…so I um got them for you…as a…um…welcome gift" He explained hoping she would believe him.

Sceptically she opened the bag he handed to her and saw the wings she had wanted for months. Immediately she felt absolutely horrible for yelling at him now. She really wasn't used to people being nice to her without wanting something in return or just being nice in general so she really didn't know what to say.

"Oh so you're stalking me now!" She yelled without thinking, god she was emotionally constipated.

"I'm sorry!" Elfman replied shocked and terrified "I'll just…um…go" he spoke before practically running away from her.

As soon as he was out of sight Ever sunk to the ground clutching her gift. 'Why?' she practically screams at herself. This is why people didn't like her, she wasn't much of a people person and as soon as she knew she was wrong she would immediately say something stupid like that. God she was horrible

The next day Elfman entered the guild behind his sisters feeling really bad at yesterday. He didn't mean to upset evergreen yesterday. He was trying to make her smile, honestly.

Looking around the guild he noticed Evergreen sitting in between Bickslow and Freed, who he assumed had just got back from their mission. The thing that made him smile was the fact that she was sitting in her usual spot, drinking her juice, kicking her legs, all whilst wear the wings. So she liked the gift after all.
