This is the new version of this chapter. I really wasn't as happy with the original as I hoped to be. I've changed a couple of songs to fit better, the ones I had originally just didn't work. I hope that you like this version better than the first one.
Once her grandfather had finished yelling at her Kaida disappeared into the small sitting room. Finding her headphones and her music player Kaida turned up the volume and allowed herself to get lost in her music.
/Raditz watched his nice run down the hall and followed his father back into the sitting room. "Father will you relax, it's not like they were doing anything wrong. I mean really it's not like you never made out with Mother before you mated." Bardock growled at his son, "That is not the point. I was a third class warrior mating another third class warrior, not an elite about to mate the prince. She has enough problems from some of the elites about me being a third class, she doesn't need them thinking they've already slept together."
"He's right Raditz, they have to be careful." Vegeta stood by the fireplace glaring at his son. Raditz sighed, "I think there's one thing the two of you have missed. There is no one here to see them, the king made sure of that." Bardock and Vegeta looked at him, "Explain" they both demanded. "The king made sure that those who do not want the prince to mate Kaida were not given permission to spend the festival in the Sacred Valley this year. He wanted them to have some time by themselves. I guess he just forgot to tell you father."/
Trunks and Goten decided that it would be a good idea to leave the area while the grownups were angry and yelling. Wandering around the mansion they decided to try and find Kaida. "Can you sense her ki Goten?" Goten tried to find his sister's ki but had a hard time with the adults' ki being raised so much. "Wait I think I sense her near the kitchen. Come on Trunks." Together the boys ran down the hall. They found the door to the little sitting room wide open and Kaida inside dancing around the room. "Kaida are you okay?" Goten asked. When he didn't receive any answer Goten called again, "Kaida! She can't hear me Trunks..."
"What are the two of you doing?" Gohan asked, spooking the boys. "We were worried about Kaida." Goten pulled on his brothers arm. "Your grandfather really took a chunk out of her didn't he?" Videl asked, "She probably doesn't want to talk to you boys right now. Maybe I could try talking to her." She ruffled Goten hair. "We already tried talking to her, but she didn't answer us when we called." Videl took a closer look at Kaida's dancing form, than she noticed it, "she's wearing headphones. That's why she didn't answer, she's got the music up so loud that she can't hear you." Goten smiled and tried to run into the room but was stopped by Gohan's hand on his shoulder, "Wait. Videl do you think...Videl?" Gohan looked around but Videl was nowhere to be seen.
Videl entered the drawing room to find it still in chaos. "Chi-Chi! Chi-Chi, come on you really need to see this." She grabbed the older woman's arm and pulled her out of the room. Intrigued Goku and Bulma followed. Videl led them to the sitting room where Kaida was dancing around.
The three adults crowded around the door with the boys. "Instead of everyone trying to see though one door why don't some of you follow me and I can show you another door to spy though." Goku turned around to find Geta standing near another doorway. He took Chi-Chi's hand and followed Geta into the other room. Unlike the other rooms this one was almost barren; there was only a couch and two chairs in front of the large fireplace. In the back corner was an open door and Goku could hear Kaida singing in the other room [Deep Silent Complete ~ Nightwish]. "I'm not sure about the song but her voice is amazing." Chi-Chi exclaimed, she could be a famous singer or opera star! That would help out with all the bills around the house. I can just imagine it! One twin a famous opera singer and the other a world class scholar. "What's really amazing is that she can hit those high notes without hurting our ears." Goku said as he leaned against the doorframe. Geta nodded, "It takes a lot of talent and practice to be able to do that, years of practice really."
Kaida changed her music and cranked the volume to high, trying to let the music heal some of the hurt. [Eva ~ Nightwish] Music had always helped, it had started as she was growing up on Frieza's ship, living through the beatings and purging planets with the others. She would go back to her quarters and crank the music as high as she dared and let the notes take her away. /"Mocked by man to depths of shame/Little girl with life ahead./For a memory of one kind word/She would stay among the beasts./Time for one more daring dream/Before her escape,"/ Kaida paused as she detected someone watching her. Ripping her headphones off she turned and saw her parents standing in the side door watching her, /"what the hell do you think you're doing spying on me like that?"/ Chi-Chi ran forward trying to embrace her daughter, "you have such an amazing voice, I'm sure that you will have no problem getting in with the best opera house in the world." Kaida pushed Chi-Chi back, gently this time, "First of all, don't touch me. Second who says that I will be returning to your planet with you?" shaking her head Kaida walked away, pushing Goten and Trunks gently out of her way as she left the room.
/After lunch Raditz took Bardock off somewhere secretly for over an hour. When they reappeared they secretly spoke to Vegeta, Geta and Kaida. Over the following half-hour each of the five Saiyans snuck away from the earthlings and headed into the ballroom. Along the back wall a small platform had been raised. On the platform was a large drum set, two electric pianos forming an L, a bass guitar in its stand and two guitars beside it. Along the front of the platform and in front of the drums and piano were mics. "Raditz for once you've had an excellent idea." Vegeta smiled as he picked up the spiked guitar, the outer edges looked like someone had splattered blood over it while the center was black covered with skulls. Lovingly he rubbed his hand over the smooth finish and strummed a few notes, "How the hell did you manage to get my guitar. Last time I saw my baby was on Frieza's ship." Raditz shook his head, "I'm not really sure, they were just there one day. I kept her tuned and safe for you."
"Well are we gonna have some fun and jam or just stand around?" Geta said as he picked up his black axe shaped bass guitar. "Sounds like a good idea and I know just how to start us off, Kaida take the center." Raditz sat down at the pianos and began playing, Bardock sat behind the drums and waited for his cue. [Come Sail Away ~ Styx] Kaida let the music wash over her and the words came from deep in her memory. As she sang she lost track of the others until Vegeta handed her her guitar. Smiling she looked down at the black and red finish, it looked like a heart had exploded from inside her guitar covering the black surface with blood. She put the strap over her shoulder, looked at Vegeta and the two of them began rocking out.
"Hey Raditz," Vegeta turned to look at the long haired Saiyan as they finished the song, "your turn up front, let's go." Smiling Raditz came out from behind his pianos, Kaida moved to stand beside Vegeta, "Why don't you take lead for this one." Kaida's face lit up as she nodded. [Razamanaz ~ Nazareth]/
Out in the hall Trunks wandered with Goten bored to death of the adults. His father had disappeared somewhere with his brother, and his mom was being loud with Chi-Chi and Videl. "Hey Trunks do you hear that?" Trunks stopped and listened, "Where is that coming from? Come on Goten lets go and find out." The boys ran down the halls following the music. Trunks paused in front of a dark hall, "This way Goten." Goten walked over to where Trunks was standing, "Are you sure Trunks? It looks really dark down there."
"Quit being a baby Goten, let's go." Trunks grabbed his partners arm and ran down the hall, the further they went the louder the music got. They reached the end of the hall and hid in the doorway. Leaning around the doorframe they were shocked and amazed by what they saw.
/With a look from Vegeta Raditz moved away from the center mic and returned to his place at the piano, letting Vegeta take his place. Together the four men began singing [Princes of the Universe ~ Queen] Kaida only providing back up guitar and vocals. She watched as Vegeta let loose on his guitar, Gods I love it when he does that. As the song ended Kaida had a thought, "Raditz you take bass and Geta you get center." Kaida moved to the right of the platform and waited for the men to move into their places, "Alright boys, follow my lead." [Sweet Child O' Mine ~ Guns N' Roses] Kaida let her guitar talk for her. They continued to play for the rest of the afternoon, switching places enjoying the sense of freedom that came from their music. They played for so long that they almost missing out on dinner.
