Chapter 3

Natsu, Laxus and Erza had left immediately to Galuna Island since their mission was to bring back Gray, Lucy and Happy for going on an S-Class job and breaking the rules. Not much happened while they got there due to Laxus already being pissed off before they had left. They got there and Gray bitched about him having to beat Lyon and practically demanded that they should be allowed to stay and finish the mission.

Laxus simply told Gray to shut up in the nicest way he knew as he had knocked him out and then left alone to take care of the job. Lyon and the others proved to be quite easy to deal with for Laxus and his Lightning dragon slayer magic. There was something off about the short guy that smelled of women's perfume, Laxus noticed. That guy had disappeared quickly however when Laxus showed up.

In the meantime back at the village Erza and Natsu took care of the barrier that had blocked the moonlight from directly lightning up the village. And it turned out all the villagers were actually demons.

The group had decided to stay the night at the island and head home in the morning. Everyone had gotten into their own beds and was about to fall asleep when Natsu had walked out the door. Erza noticed this and was about to follow him when Laxus stopped her saying "Leave it"

Natsu would do this often as he would not get any real sleep anyway since that day he had lost control and attacked his friends. Natsu would have nightmares from that night and he regretted it every day and wanted to make it different, he has suffered from insomnia ever since that day. Laxus would help him out sometimes but Natsu preferred not to be knocked out unconscious just to get a few hours of rest.

Gray and Lucy did not seem very happy about Natsu being here either, as mostly Gray had glared at him and then asked "What is he doing here?" as soon as he saw him. Lucy just avoided him and that was fine with Natsu. Happy however was glad that Natsu was here, Happy had not spent any time with Natsu for a long time and it was not because Happy was afraid or angry at Natsu it was because Natsu had asked him to leave him alone for a while.

Sometimes Laxus would talk about how much better the guild would be once he was the guild master and he has even mentioned his plans to take over the guild. Lately Natsu started thinking that maybe Laxus was right. But then he also thought that what point was there to take over the guild if no one would like you and he did not want to attack the guild once again and have the others fear or hate him even more. Sometimes Natsu thought it would be better just to leave and find a new home.

The next morning they quickly left the Island and travelled back to Magnolia and their guild. And once they entered the guild, Natsu's thoughts of having a chance to leave the guild were all gone. He would not have a chance to leave anyway as Makarov had appointed him and Laxus a new team mate. Their new team mate was also to act as the team leader due to him being the most experienced and arguably the strongest of them.

The new member of their team also greeted Natsu as soon as he saw him, the man had walked up to him pinched his cheek "Such a bad boy, attacking the guild and all" then he had laughed for a while.

Laxus was not as happy as the others with having this mage back in the guild, since now it would be nearly impossible to take over the guild and he would have to change his plans.

"Gildarts.." Laxus growled out quietly.

Most of the guild members cheered for the new team, if they started working together, Fairy Tail's reputation would only grow even bigger. But then there was some that were jealous, why was Natsu part of that team? He was not even an S-Class mage and he had attacked the guild just a few months ago.

Laxus - who still had the job request he and Natsu had picked out before being ordered to bring back Gray and the others – threw the job request at Natsu and said "We are leaving"

Natsu just nodded and followed after him.

"Guys" Gildarts said and then a little louder "Guys.." but neither Natsu or Laxus stopped and they had now walked out of the guilds.

Makarov sighed as saw them leave and said "You better follow them, please do not disappoint me"

"You owe me big time for this" was all Gildarts said before he left as well.

Normally when Laxus and Natsu does these types of missions they don't really have to strain themselves that much. Now with Gildarts joining them, well.. it did not get harder. But something did happen just as they were done and had gotten their payment.

Mirajane had called and told them that the guild had been attacked and destroyed by Phantom Lord.

"Deal with it yourself, it is not my problem" Laxus had answered and Mirajane had a disappointed expression.

"Now wait just a minute, Laxus" Gildarts said but Laxus would not listen.

"We are supposed to be strongest right?" Laxus said and Gildarts sighed as Laxus kept talking"Then why the fuck cant they deal with that second rate guild themselves?"

"What do you think, Natsu?" Gildarts asked knowing Natsu's answer already.

Natsu thought on it for a second then said "I do not really give a shit, you decide"

Well that was not the answer Gildarts expected so once again he sighed and said "We need to talk sometime, Natsu"

Gildarts was now the one speaking to Mirajane. He wore a sheepish expression as he said "We would all be glad to help, we will get back as soon as possible"

The call ended and Laxus got out of there after saying "I am going to get something to eat, you two go ahead"

Natsu followed him "Wait for me"

Gildarts was normally very calm and it did take a lot to anger him. But right now he was pissed off. That was the master's grandson and Natsu Dragneel, probably the one that used to love the guild the most when was young. The Natsu he remembers would never do something like this, what the hell has happened while he was gone? Makarov did explain everything right? Then why is it as if Natsu was an outcast in his own guild.

Laxus and Natsu did not get that far after that as Gildarts had catched up to them. They were starting to get a little bit worried now seeing Gildarts staring them down and his magic powers making it hard for them to breathe and causing objects to fly around them. They had pissed of Gildarts and he was about to show why he was the strongest.

Thanks everyone for reviewing; if I answered you all in this chapter it would take up more space than the actual chapter. Also I'm sorry for the long wait. I will try to update much more often it really should not take this long for me to write a chapter. But I promise I will not abandon this story, it may take a while for each update sometimes though as I am writing two others stories at the same time.

I did say in the last chapter that I would post 2-3k word chapters in the future but I figured this is better than nothing. I will take that back and not promise anyting, instead I will try to get another chapter out before this month is over, even if it's short.
