Two days of yelling, arguing and listening to just how evil Saiyans were and that they should all return to earth immediately had pissed Kakarot off. He had tried to convince her that they were in no danger here, he was stronger than all of the Saiyans here and could protect her, but that didn't work. She claimed that these Saiyans would corrupt her boys, turning them to their evil ways. Nothing he said seemed to get through her head. He was sure that if she kept up screaming at him about the evils of his race he was going to put his fist through a wall, or worse he end up hitting her and he defiantly didn't want to do that…yet. So now here he was wondering the palace halls trying to blow off some steam in a non-violent way. I should go and talk with Kaida, she's been hiding from Chi-Chi since we got here, not that I blame her in the slightest. Now where the hell were her rooms again?

Kakarot walked down the long hall trying to remember down which hall Kaida's rooms were. Shit, I'm so lost right now I don't think I could even make it back to my room right now. Turning a corner he saw a guard making his rounds. Walking up to the man he motioned the guard closer, "Can you tell me were the Lady Kaida's rooms are?" Thankfully he remembered to use his daughter's title. The guard just stared at him, clearly thinking that this person needed to be removed from the palace. "May I ask why it is you think you may just walk into the palace and be shown to the future princess' rooms?" Kakarot growled lightly at the guard You know what, Fuck this! I'm tired of taking crap like this from those who think there better than me. Time to show this asshole just who he's dealing with. He drew himself up to his full height and glared at the offending guard, "I am the Lord Captain General Kakarot and the Lady Kaida's father. Now you will show me to my daughter's room…or do I have to put an end to your sorry existence?" The guard's face paled and he nodded quickly turning and leading the way down another hall not stopping or turning around until he reached the correct door. "This is the Lady Kaida's room Your Grace," he bowed and left the hall. Kakarot laughed as the guard ran in his haste to get away from him. Still shaking his head Kakarot knocked on the door and waited for an answer. The slight raise in ki that came from inside the room was what he was waiting for. He opened the door and walked inside.

Closing the door behind him Kakarot looked around taking in his surroundings. He had entered a small living room, to his left was a door that appeared to lead to two bedrooms, straight ahead on the other end of the room an archway led to a kitchen and beyond that another door that was open to the outdoors. The living room was a comfortable size and he felt at home there. On one wall was a bookshelf and TV across from that was a dark brown leather couch. To the left of the door was the matching loveseat and behind that stood a large white cage with two medium sized birds. These he stared at for a few minutes, one was stunning his underside and the end of his wings were a deep red while their head and upper body were yellow, while his cheeks and under their beaks were green. The part he was most fascinated by was his tail, the base was yellow but it faded into white and the tail had to be almost a foot long. The other bird was plain, being brown save for its underside which was white and had a much shorter tail. Once he was able to pry himself away from the birds he took in the rest of the room. On the far wall, next to the archway, was covered in books and other knickknacks. Curious he walked over to look at the collection displayed on the shelves. He was surprised to find many snow-globes and teddy bears littered among the books. Hn, I would never have thought Saiyans would have so many things. I always thought they just had the absolute basics.

"Oh, hi Dad. I thought that was you. What brings you to my end of the palace?" Kakarot shrugged, "Thought I would come and see where you were hiding out." And potentially find a hiding place myself. That earned him a noise that was somewhere between a snort and a chuckle, "I'm not hiding." He raised an eyebrow at her. "Ok…so I'm hiding, but not from you or my brothers." He nodded in understanding. After a moment of silence Kakarot gestured to the shelves, "I didn't think Saiyans collected things." Kaida looked behind her and blushed so slightly Kakarot was sure he made it up. "We don't. With a few exceptions all of the things here I've collected in that last…two years. After we came here."

Kakarot nodded absently as he walked over to one of the shelves and picked up a snow globe. It was smaller than the others, fitting comfortably in the palm of his hand. The base was made of three rings of dark grey stone with five curved metal posts around each attached to the other by a thick chain. Inside the globe sat a blue and purple baby dragon. Its tiny wings were partially extended, while its tail looked like it was trying to wrap around its body, only it was still much too small. In places along its body the scales were made from jewels, making it sparkle in the light. What really caught his attention was the dragon's eyes, they appeared to be made from some precious stone, either she has very expensive taste, which looking around the room he highly doubted, or someone bought it for her. Kaida looked over his shoulder at the snow globe he was holding, "DehDeh got that for me, about a month or so before he and Nappa left." Slowly he put the globe back on the shelf where he had got it. I really need to apologize to Vegeta for what I did. I know that he'll throw it right back in my face but I think I still have to do it.

Kaida watched her father put the snow globe back on the shelf, wondering what was going through his head to make him look so serious, that look really doesn't suit him. "Come on," she said putting her hand on his shoulder, "I'll show you my garden." Turning she led him through the kitchen into a tiny hall that only had two doors, one on the right and one on the end. She opened the one on the end and led him out onto a covered patio. To say that he was surprised would be an understatement, he fully admitted that to himself. The garden was huge and absolutely gorgeous, instead of grass there was mostly sand and rocks, yet the flowers that were growing…he had never seen such a variety of colours and they were all so vibrant. Reds, purples, pinks, yellows, oranges, blues and whites, some of the flowers were three colours at once, even the greens of the leaves were somehow more vibrant than at home. I guess without all the grass the flowers…pop. Who would have guessed Saiyans have a green thumb? He sat down on one of the chairs on the patio watching her three 'dogs' run around the garden. They sat there together in silence for hours.

Kakarot though about how he could convince Chi-Chi that the Saiyans were alright…at least the ones they had met so far. Except for that little puke this morning, but that's more arrogant than evil. He didn't realized how long he had sat there thinking until his stomach decided to make itself known. Grimacing slightly at the hunger pains he stood with every intention of finding food as quickly as possible. Then suddenly there was a tray of food right in front of him. Kakarot looked past the food, which was rather difficult, and smiled in thanks at Kaida before taking the tray and sitting down to devour it. When he was finally finished Kaida whisked the tray away just as silently as she had brought it, then returned to sit beside him on the patio. Once again they fell into a comfortable silence.

This is nice, Kakarot thought, I don't feel like I have to talk to her, I can just sit here in silence if I want. Yet I get the feeling that if I wanted to talk with her she would, and not just because she thought she had to. A few hours later Kaida produced another tray of food for both of them. After eating father and daughter sat and watched the suns set.

If you want to know what the birds look like google the 'Lesser Bird of Paradise.

This is something that my dad and I do, we can sit there together for hours and not say a word, it's nice to just be able to sit with someone sometimes. :)
