The next morning saw Kakarot waiting in the front hall of the palace with Goten for the others to arrive. He had no idea where they were going but somehow he was still excited. He hoped that Chi-Chi would obey him and come down, she had been getting ready when he left their room but who knew with her? When he felt a tugging at his pant leg he looked down at Goten who seemed incapable of standing still. "Daddy, do you know where we are going? Where's Gohan and Kaida, why aren't they here yet?" Kakarot laughed, "I don't know where we're going today Goten, and I'm sure that Gohan and Kaida will be here soon."

From down the hall came the sound of laughter paired with groans and muffled curses. Curious father and son wandered over to see what was going on. They both broke out laughing as the twins came running into the hall, or rather Gohan came running in. Kaida was sitting on his back as if riding a horse, her hands pulling back on the collar of his shirt. "Whoa there Gohan." When he stopped she nimbly jumped off his back and patted his head. Kakarot looked at his eldest children, "What the hell is going on?" Gohan groaned and mumbled something under his breath. Kaida, however just laughed, "Gohan's mad cause he lost a bet to me and now he has to be my noble steed for the rest of the day…or at least for twelve hours." Goten jumped up and down behind Gohan, trying to grab onto his shirt, "I wanna ride too!" Gohan turned around and decked his brother, "It's bad enough I have to put up with her shit, I'm not dealing with yours as well Goten."

"Gohan!" Chi-Chi exclaimed as she entered the hall to see her eldest hit his younger brother. "What do you think you are doing?" Gohan looked sheepishly at his mother but was put off apologizing when his father interrupted. "They're fine Chi-Chi, leave them alone." Much to the boy's surprise their mother backed off. Instead Gohan turned to his sister, "so where are we going?" Kaida smiled as she led them out of the palace to a waiting vehicle, "Tupuna's and Koroua's." She jumped into the driver's seat leaving the others to fight over who got to sit where. In the end Kakarot and Goten sat up front while Chi-Chi and Gohan shared the back. "Where's Videl Gohan?" his mother asked, looking around for the other girl. Gohan sighed, "She said she didn't want to come. Actually she's probably going to head back to earth really soon. I don't think she likes it here." Up front Kaida snickered and Kakarot began to have an idea about what the bet was that Gohan lost.

An hour later Chi-Chi was sleeping in the back while Gohan and Goten (who had crawled over the seats into the back) sat together talking about the things they were seeing as they drove across the country side. Kakarot and Kaida sat up front quietly listening to the music, neither one feeling the need to begin a conversation. Kakarot was actually quite interested in the music that Kaida had been playing for the tip, he had heard a bit of music at the parties but that seemed to be more along the lines of religious type music while this…this was more like what he had heard them play on the guitars.
When the next song came on it sent shivers down his back, especially when Kaida turned up the volume. The beginning piano sounded haunting and he knew that this was not going to be one of those happy songs. When Kaida began singing along the lyrics went straight through his heart. "You've seen my hands are steady/You've seen my face before/Soon you can take your last look/And they'll close the door/I stand accused before you/I have no tears to cry/And you will never break me/Until the day I die." Kakarot could tell that there was something different about the way she was singing this song, as if it really meant something to her or that it was something she connected with.

"A criminal mind was all I/All I've ever known/They've tried to reform me/Cause I'm made of cold stone/My criminal mind is all I/All I've ever had/Ask one who's known me/If I'm really so bad.../I am." Yep, he thought, definitely something she could relate to. I bet Vegeta and the other three have a thing for this song as well.

"I've spent my life behind these steel bars/I've paid my debt in time/But being brought to justice/That was my only crime/I don't regret action/I'd do the same again/These prison walls secure me/And I'm numb to pain." He knew all too well that growing up under Frieza's rule would numb anyone to pain and it hurt to know that his daughter was. Even though he knew that it was not his fault he still felt responsible and horribly guilty.

"Before you hand me over/Before you read my sentence/I'd like to say a few words/Here in my own defense/Some people struggle daily/They struggle with their conscience 'til the end/I have no guilt to haunt me/I feel no wrong intent.
A criminal mind is all I/All I've ever known/Don't try to reform me/Cause I'm made of cold stone
My criminal mind is all I/All I've ever had/Ask one who's known me/If I'm really so bad.../I am
Oh I am/Oh I am/I'm made of cold stone/Made of cold stone/I'm just like these prison walls/A criminal mind."

It wasn't long afterwards that they began to drive through a small town. "Where are we?" Goten asked as he climbed back into the front seat. "Onshitsu. It's a third-class settlement for those who no longer fight and who do not want to live in the barracks or the capital." As they drove through Kakarot took in the sights. The houses were small and looked to be made from mud, or at the very least something similar. Yet the houses were spaced a fair distance apart giving each home a decent sized 'backyard' and they all looked well taken care of. Another thing he noticed was the lack of vehicles and the manner in which they all dressed. None of the women had their hair up, they didn't wear the stupidly long skirts. Most of the males were shirtless or wearing small vests that barely covered their chests, hell he was having a hard time finding someone, male or female that was wearing shoes. He loved it. They drove to what seemed to be the far end of town and stopped in front of a larger house that already had two vehicles parked in front. Kaida turned around to look at them all, "If the king asks, my hair was up and I wore shoes the entire time we were here, ok?" getting out of the car she kicked off her boots and pulled the pins out of her hair and walked into the yard.

Getting out Kakarot wasn't surprised to find Raditz already there with his parents. What did surprise him was that Raditz was holding a young boy, probably around six, that looked very much like him. With a gasp he realized that this was probably his brother's son. The young boy squirmed to get out of Raditz' hold and went running to Kaida who bend down and picked him up. "Ragu, you little monster have you been bugging your Mitera?" Raditz laughed, nodding in agreement as two other children joined them. The little girl was most likely around ten while the boy was a little older than Ragu, maybe around seven. Kaida knelt down to greet the newcomers, "Shoga, Azuki, how are my favorite cousins?"

While Kaida talked with the three children Bardock and Kyandi came around the corner of the house accompanied by five males. Kakarot noticed that one of the males looked very similar to himself and his father, only with slightly longer hair. The male next to him had extremely short hair, while a third male looked like a combination of the other two. He had the same facial features as Bardock and the look alike stranger while he had the same short hair as the other, just slightly longer. The other Saiyan had longer hair, reaching down past his shoulders, while the one in front had shoulder length hair and many scars across his arms and bare chest.

Ragu climbed out of Kaida's arms and ran to the male in front, "DehDeh Kaida's here!" the male bent down and picked up the cub, "I see that. Hello Kaida how've you been?" Kaida walked over to the scared male and nuzzled the side of his cheek, "Uncle Jicama. I'm good, just got back from spending a little over a month in the sacred valley." Turning she walked over to greet the other four males then disappeared into the house. Bardock wrapped an arm around Kakarot's shoulders and pulled him further into the yard. "I hope you have that woman of yours under control," he whispered. Kakarot nodded, so do I, he thought.

~~WARNING! WARNING!~~

"Now for introductions. Kakarot, boys this is my brother Arttok," he pointed to the older male that looked alike. "And this is his mate Datura." Kakarot was shocked when his father pointed to the male with very short hair. If Bardock noticed his sons surprise he ignored it and continued on. "Their son Daizu and his mate Kurrat. Shoga and Azuki are their cubs." Bardock gestured over to where the other male stood with Raditz, "and Jicama here is your brother's mate."

Kakarot could feel Chi-Chi's anger from where she stood behind him. Knowing that he had to do something before she completely lost it he unwound his tail and wrapped it tightly around her wrist, squeezing. She tried digging her nails into his tail in an attempt to make him let go but he just squeezed harder. Thankfully she got the hint and kept quiet. While Kakarot was keeping Chi-Chi quiet his father had stuck his head into a window and shouted, "Father, Mitera, come out here and meet your other grandson and great-grandsons." Kakarot stared at the two men who emerged from the house, their arms wrapped around one another.

First, Translations. Tupuna is grandmother in Maori. Koroua is grandfather in Maori. Mitera is mother in Greek. Onshitsu is greenhouse in Japanese.

Second, the song. The song is 'A Criminal Mind' by Gowan or Styx. If you want to listen I recommend searching Gowan - a criminal mind studio version on youtube. It's 7:20 minutes long but well worth the listen. I always thought of Vegeta and the others when I listen to this song, something about the lyrics really connects in my head with them.

Third. If you have issues with male/male realtions...keep it to yourself. I don't have issues and do not need to hear about yours. There is no need to leave mean and hurtful reviews just because you have an issue with something like this, espically when the next chapter will be full of it as we spend more time with Kakarot and his family

I hope you liked the chapter, let me know what you thought! :)
