Sorry for the late update, but such are the consequences of holiday Mondays and parting on Sundays lol. Slowly getting to where I actually want to be with this part of the story, dam random plot bunnies. Thanks again to those wonderful people who read and review, especially ThomasaTa and pannybaby123 who have posted many wonderful reviews and keep me inspired to continue writing.
It was no surprise when the food disappeared quickly. With seventeen Saiyan's sitting around the table. Tarrokot and Kahle sat at either end of the table. Beside Kahle Kyandi and Kurrat had the four cubs sitting between them and, surprising enough, minding their manners. On Kahle's other side Kaida seemed to be in a heated discussion with Gohan, even though he was sitting beside his son Kakarot couldn't follow their conversation. Beside Kakarot was his brother, brother-in-law and cousin with Bardock sitting at the end beside Tarrokot. On the other side Datura was trying to help Kurrat with Azuki while Arttok was laughing with his father. It still amazed Kakarot that he not only had this large (to him) family but also just how easily he and his boys fit in.
Once lunch was finished the cubs ran off to play while the 'subs' with the two women cleaned the tables. Eventually everyone settled down, trying to avoid the intense afternoon heat in their own way. Tarrokot and Kahle disappeared into the house, stating that they were too old to be napping outside. Kyandi and Kurrat took the cubs inside as well in order to settle them down for their own nap. Kakarot found himself pulled into the shade provided by the house. Together with Raditz, Jicama, Daizu and Kurrat they settled into the grass, talking quietly. Arttok and Bardock disappeared somewhere with their mates and Kakarot was sure he didn't want to know what they were doing.
Gohan had settled onto a small piece of shade provided by something that was a cross between a bush and a tree, across the yard from his father and uncles. He was soon joined by Kaida who sat with her back against his. Kakarot watched with pure pleasure as his twin cubs leaned against one another, going as far as to use the other's shoulder as a pillow as they both fell asleep; their tails resting against one another. Thinking this was a good idea he joined his cubs in the release of sleep.
It was early evening when Kakarot woke. Looking across the yard he noticed that the twins were gone, probably gone to find something to eat he thought, until he heard a quiet giggle off to his right. Noticing that his dad was awake and watching them Gohan held a finger to his lips warning the older Saiyan to keep quiet before going back to help Kaida. Kakarot laughed in his head and thanked the gods that he had woken when he did otherwise he was certain that he too would have suffered from the twins ministrations. Heaving himself up he left his cubs to their projects and headed into the house in search of food and his other cub.
Entering the kitchen Kakarot found Kahle moving around quietly putting together a light snack for everyone. "Is there anything I can do to help…umm" Kahle laughed at the confused look on his grandson's face, "just call me Tupuna, makes life easier." The two men shared a quiet laugh before Kahle pointed to a stack of boxes on the counter, "why don't you put those out on," he grabbed a large plate from a cupboard, "this. You don't have to use the entire box for each one. This is just going to be a light snack before we all head over to the bon-fire. There will be plenty to eat there. Let's see how much we can get done while everyone is sleeping or busy." Kakarot saw where Kahle was looking and had to chuckle again. "Those two better not be around when they wake up. I'm really glad I've always had a difficult time napping." Kahle nodded, "I think Kaida is extremely happy having someone her age beside the young prince. From what your bother had told me she has always been a little mischievous but never had anyone to be childish with. Having her twin will do wonders for her." Kahle shook his heads at the twins, "I think it will do wonders for them both." Kakarot couldn't help but agree, Gohan never got to play much as a kid between Chi-Chi making him study, all the fights…and me dying didn't help either. Maybe now he'll get to have some fun.
As he and Kahle were getting snacks ready the twins came running in, "Tupuna can we have a snack to go?" Gohan asked looking like the cat that ate the canary. As if he had anticipated this Kahle handed them both a box full of snacks. "Cool thanks. Dad Kaida and I are going to head over to the bon-fire field and hang out there ok?" Kakarot had to agree with them, "Ya that's probably a good idea. You don't want to be around when your uncles wake up." The twins looked at each other then back at him presenting perfectly innocent faces. "I don't know what you're talking about dad," Kaida opened her snack box and looked inside, "we haven't done anything. Gohan and I just want to look around and see who else I around."
Kahle and Kakarot waited until the two left the yard before breaking down into laughter so hard they had to hold onto the counter to keep themselves upright. "And just what is so funny?" Tarrokot asked as he walked into the kitchen. As neither of the other two could breath for laughing so hard they answered by pointing out the window. Tarrokot leaned over the counter and glanced out the window at his grandsons, who had yet to wake from their afternoon nap, and bit his lip to keep him from laughing out loud, oh this was just too good. "If you two keep that up you are going to wake the entire house and we all know that some people," the warrior looked back towards the window, "should be left to sleep for a while longer." Kahle finally stood and wrapped his arms around his mate's waist, "you my love are an evil genius." Tarrokot smiled as he held the smaller male close, kissing his forehead, "I know."
Kakarot watched his grandparents amazed at the intensity between them and slowly backed out of the kitchen and towards the smaller bedroom. Opening the door he smiled at the sight that greeted him. Goten, Ragu and Azuki were curled up together on one of the beds while Shoga slept by herself on the second bed. You know the cubs aren't the only ones who can have a little fun with others Kakarot chuckled as he grabbed the edge of the mattress the boys were sleeping on and pulled upwards dumping all three boys on the floor. "HEY!" The three boys stood quickly back to back as if waiting for an attack to come. While a large part of Kakarots mind wanted to laugh another part found the boy's reaction interesting and slightly disturbing. It's good that they have been able to bond so well that they trust one another at their backs it's more than just a little sad that defense from an attack is their first reaction. Shouts from outside drew Kakarots attention away from how the boys reacted and knowing what was outside he laughed, "Come on you four you need to run outside and see what happened."
The cubs seemed to have a natural instinct for knowing when something embarrassing happened to their elders as Shoga grabbed a camera off the dresser and chased after the three boys, Kakarot following at a slower pace. Laughter reached his ears long before he left the house and once again thanked the gods that he didn't nap well. Rounding the house he fell down laughing at the three males who apparently could nap through anything and were now suffering the consequences. Bardock and Arttok were taking copious amounts of pictures while shouting promises of framing said pictures were everyone see. Kyandi and Datura were shaking their heads at their sons and mates, while trying very hard not to laugh too loud and upset said sons. The cubs, however, had not such issues, laughing and making loud jokes at their elder's expense.
Tarrokot finally put an end to the loudness by sending off a small ki blast into the air. "Time to go." Turing he led the way out of the yard and down the street with Raditz, Jicama, Daizu and Kurrat complaining loudly about not being able to wash. Tarrokot turned on them with a growl, "perhaps you should have thought of that before you slept for so long, now move your tails before I let Kakarot throw all four of you into the river." Still grumbling they followed the elder warrior to the field where the bon-fire would be held and were forced to endure the laughter of the rest of the town while glaring daggers at Gohan and Kaida who were taking even more pictures from where they were laying on the ground laughing.
Ok so I'll be honest and say I have no idea what those two did to their uncles, if you have any ideas please let me know. Also let me know if there is anything else you would like to see them do in the story as the end is within sight (by that I mean with ten or so chapters) and I can try to incorporate it into the story. Hope you all continue to enjoy :)
