Kim's POV:

"Kimmy wake up! Daddy says we're here!" A voice said, accompanied by a substantial amount of weight on my stomach. "Oh, come one Kim. Dad even bought a limo." The curly-haired boy whined.

"Matthew Christian Brewer, you promised that if I let you come get your book, you'd leave Kim alone." A different voice called.

"I'm sorry Kimmy, sorry Daddy." Matt said, getting lifted off of me by his father. He ran off of the plane to join Kenzie in the limo.

I gathered everything into the bag quickly before stepping off the plane and into the limo. Mackenzie's small body curled into my lap almost instantly. I stroked her hair softly, lulling myself to sleep.

Ew, why is there water dripping on my face? Did Jack pick a house with a broken air-conditioning unit? "Kim, Kim, please wake up. I'm scared."

I sat up quickly, almost knocking Matt off of the bed. "What's wrong sweetie?" I asked, quickly checking his body for injuries. I released a sigh of relief when he had none.

I wiped a tear that fell from his big cow eyes and gave him a kiss on the forehead. I held his head in my chest and noticed a note from Jack next to my phone. "I can't find Daddy and Kenzie." He said, sniffling some more.

"Look Matty, it's a note from your Dad. He said that he took Kenzie to the park, okay. I think we should go and meet them." I said, pulling away from the hug.

I picked up my phone and saw that it was already 12 pm. "How about we get ready and I'll make us some lunch for a picnic at the park. How does that sound?" I asked, turning to pick out a park-appropriate outfit.

Jack's POV (short one)

Damn, that girl is perfect. She adores my kids, even cares or them as her own. She's gorgeous and smart! She's nothing like Camilla, though. Yes Camilla was kind, but there was always some hidden motive behind any and everything that she did. Kim, she was just nice, to everyone, without a second glance.

She actually makes me think about being in a relationship with an employee. I know it's stupid for me to think that way, but the big man downstairs was trying to tell me that he likes her. Even I she wanted a relationship too, I know her and she'd never put her job in jeopardy.

"Hello, earth to Jack." She said, laughing a little. I snapped out of my Kim-funk and looked at her. "I said, since it's already 3, I asked if you were ready to leave; maybe to take the kids for a movie or something."

"We should probably start heading back; we have a dinner at 6:30."

"What? Jack, it's almost 4:45! Oh my God, come on Kenzie we have to go get ready!" She said, picking Mackenzie up and power walking to the house.

Kim's POV:

"Okay, so Mackenzie, I need you to hurry and take a quick shower. Can you do that for me, please?" I asked, gently.

"Of course Kimmy." She said, giving me a toothless grin, she'd lost one of her teeth during breakfast this morning, according to her father. Matt was very upset that he didn't lose his first.

I went to her suitcase before choosing an elegant red dress or her to wear. I picked out a matching red bow, a hair of little gold heels and gold studs to match. "I'll do your hair after I get out of the shower."

I walked over to the drawer and pulled out a pair of underwear. I turned on Dora on her Leap Pad before going to the bathroom.

"Kim!" I heard a deep voice yell.

I held in an eye roll and turned around, glaring at him. "Yes, Jackson. Do you have some more secrets for me?" I asked, sarcastically.

"Actually yes; this dinner we're going to, my parents will be there. Before you say anything else, my father doesn't really mean a lot to me, so there's no reason to be stressed out about it. I know that you don't know much about me. But, I never had the best childhood due to my dad. I was hoping that maybe if you were there, maybe he'd lay off the insults for a while. While the twins see their Grandma a lot, the only time that they've seen Martin was after their birth and I don't want them to know him as a bad person."

"Where's Matthew?" I asked, quietly. I felt kind of bad for pushing him to answer.

"In the shower. I'll get them ready if you need me to." He said, looking at the floor.

I grabbed his hand and squeezed slightly. "Jack, we're going to get through this together, you and I." I sent him a small smile. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I have someone's parents to impress." I skipped down the hall the bathroom.

When I got out of the bathroom, it was 5:30, leaving me thirty minutes to do my hair, Mackenzie's hair, and make sure the guys look perfect.

I blew my hair dry quickly before putting it up in a whispy and braided updo. I asked Jack to steam my dress for me while I was starting to curl her hair before putting it in rollers to maintain the volume and bounce. "Uh, hey Kim is this good enough for your dress?" I heard Jack say.

I turned quickly my focus instantly taken off of the dress and onto Jack delightful pectorals and solid abs. "Yeah, it's fine." My eyes started to follow the water dripping from his hair, to his smooth tan skin, down to the fluffy white towel that hung low on his lithe waist. He laid the dress on my bed carefully before smiling and walking away.

I ushered Kenzie out and called Matty in. Thankfully, Jack had already gotten the lint off of Matthew's black slacks and jacket. I took the red tie off and unbuttoned the top button of his crisp, white shirt and ruffled his hair a bit, before kissing him on his forehead. "You look awesome, Bug."

I noticed that I only had five minutes to get dressed and to do my makeup. I pulled the ivory dress over my head making sure to miss my hair in the process. I slid both feet into the gold Louboutin pumps and grabbed my gold clutch and makeup bag, praying that I'd have enough time to fix my face in the car.

We arrived to Quay looking like the picture perfect family. However, both children weren't used to the time change, so they were tired and cranky.

"The Brewer Party, please." Jack said to the hostess.

"Welcome to the Quay, right this way." She said, I giggled behind Jack at her rhyming words.

Mackenzie started whimpering behind her father before he turned around and picked her up. Matt turned to me and pouted, his silent request for similar treatment. I picked him up as we walked to the very back of the restaurant, to a fancy private room. Everyone was there before we were and we were still five minutes early.

"Jackson, how nice of you to finally join us." The man at the head of the table said. "Oh, I seen that you've invited company, I'm Martin and this is my wife Lara Jane." On his right was a gorgeous woman that looked just like Jack. Next to her was Jerry, then Joe, Elliot, and Grace. I sat by Grace and placed Matthew beside me. Jack said across from his father with Mackenzie on his left. Then, there was Julie, Kathryn, Elizabeth, Milton, and Brody; with Layla by their father.

"Martin." Jack said, bitterly from his seat.

"Where'd you find the whore this time?" Martin said, voice full of sarcasm.

Before Jack could reply, a waiter came out. "Hello, my name is Ryan and I will be your server for the night." He gave menus to every adult at the table. "I am only starting with drinks for now however, I recommend that parents should just share a four course meal."

"We'll have your finest wine, please and thank you." Martin said, shoving the wine list into the waiter's hand.

"When I come back with your drinks, I hope that you will have chosen each course of your meal." Ryan gave us a stiff smile and walked out of the room.

"So, you're Jack's new girlfriend, huh?" Martin said, smirking at me.

"Uh, no. I'm just the kids' nanny. I'm on this vacation because I live with them." I said, finding comfort in rubbing Matthew's head.

"Oh, so Jack's still single, not surprising." He sneered.

"Why are you so rude to him? He's one of the children you raised. He's a caring boss and an excellent father. I'm one hundred percent sure that you could never even fathom being as great as he is." I said.

"Oh, I'm more than sure that you'd hate a child that was the result of you wife being nothing but a stupid whore."

I looked at Lara, whose face was darkened with gloom. "Don't you dare talk about my mother that way." Jack said menacingly. His knuckles were turning white from gripping the edges of the table so hard.

"What are you going to do, Jackie. You're going to run me off? Huh? You're nothing but a bastard, a stupid little bastard who no one could love."

I gasped and glared daggers at the cruel words that came out of the wretched man at the end of the table. I slid my hand of top of Jack's, rubbing his knuckles until his grip loosened. However, he didn't speak for the rest of the dinner, having me order for him and Mackenzie. Despite all of the anger clearly shown on his face, he still treated his children with all the love and care the world had to offer.

Everything was finally going smoothly at the end of dinner. Jack had just strapped both kids into the car, who were now falling asleep, and then it all fell apart. "Jackie, tell your little tramp that whenever she's done with you, that she'll always have a place with m–" Martin didn't even finish the sentence because Jack was on top of him punching t he crap out of his face.

Everyone ran to them at once. Martin got one punch to Jack's face, before Jack quickly dominated him again. All of his brothers, Brody included, were trying to get Jack off of his 'father.' "Daddy, what's going on." A small, scared voice asked.

We all turned around and saw Matty and Kenzie walking to the family in horror.

"Nothing you guys, let's just go home." Jack said, brushing himself off and lifting his children into his arms.

The ride home was quiet, too quiet.

When we got inside, all Jack said was, "Let me put them in their beds and we can talk."

I went into the kitchen and got him a bag of frozen peas for his split lip.

I was sitting on the counter, criss-cross applesauce when he finally came out and leaned on the counter adjacent to me. I hopped down, getting two more packs of ice for both his hands.

As I was wrapping his hands up, I started the conversation. "Jack, what was that back there?"

"You think I was about to let him talk about you like that? Kim, you're completely crazy."

"No, it was just a stupid comment. I didn't care about what he had to say about me, he doesn't even know me! And besides, we both know that everything that he said, were just lies to get under our skin." I said, rubbing his arm, softly.

"Kim, you don't understand. Everything that Martin said about me tonight was true. My mother did sleep with someone else while Martin was in Europe for the Cold War. Mom always told me that my real father was the person that she almost had a shotgun wedding with. Both my maternal and paternal grandparents were best friends and Martin and Mama had an arranged marriage, but we stayed in North Carolina so that she could still see him. She named be after his and his father. His name was Jackson and his father's was Andrew. I grew up thinking he was my uncle, until my dad found out when I was six. Honestly, he always knew something was up; he had always picked everyone over me. He's right, about everything. I don't know what I'm going to do when you leave us, Kim. You're a part of our family now." He hung his head low, like a puppy that had just gotten scolded.

"Jackson Brewer, I hope I never hear you say that you can't be loved ever again." I started. Anyone could love a man like him; even I'm starting to love him. "Jack, your kids love you, all of you. Your mother adores you; you can see it in her eyes that she loves you more than any other. All of your siblings place you high up on a pedestal." I moved closer to him, grabbing his face and forcing him to look into my eyes. "I think that I love you."

He looked at me with hope and desperation filling his brown orbs. His eyes glanced down at my lips. Our faces moved closer and closer together before a voice rang out. "Daddy! Daddy, where are you?" Matthew's voice was prominent over our heartbeats.

"Coming Matthew!" Jack called back, not wanting for his son to get out of the bed.

"I'm just gonna go to bed. I'll see you tomorrow morning." I brushed past him, awkwardly. I sped to the room that I was sharing with Mackenzie.

I changed into my pajamas and laid in the bed with my phone, looking of things that we could do for the rest of the week, so that times with Jack wouldn't be so awkward.

At 2:30, I texted Grace, Julie, and Layla asking if they were up. Layla texted back less than thirty seconds later, 'Yeah! Meet me outside!" I chuckled, slightly and rolled out of the bed, found my slippers, and slipped out of the house.

As I was locking our door, I saw Layla, whose house was right across the street, doing the same. She ran across the street, to the sidewalk on my side of the road, and gave me a huge hug. "Coffee?" She mumbled, quietly.

I nodded and we walked down the street to a little coffee shop. We both ordered decaf iced coffees, hoping hat after this intervention, we'd be able to sleep some. "So, why are you awake at 2:30 in the morning?" I asked, taking a gulp of my coffee.

"Brody's been acing really weird, lately." She started. I nodded, urging her to continue. "Well, to start, we haven't had sex in two weeks, two weeks! We usually sleep together at least once a day! And, he's been super distant. Like, he won't even hold my hand. And when we're alone and I try to talk to him, he just pushes me away and says that he has an assignment for work; which I know is a lie! My brother is his boss! I made sure that Joe didn't give him anything to do, so that it'd just be us on this trip! What if he's found someone else and doesn't know how to tell me! Our wedding is in one month!"

"Lay, he's planning something big! I promise he's not cheating on you. He used to do this all the time around my birthday; he has a present and doesn't want you to find out until everything's perfect." I said, shrugging and taking another sip.

"Oh, okay. Are you sure?" I nodded my head quickly, giving her a look. "What about you, Ms. Kimberly? Why are you up?"

I sighed before telling her everything; from the moment that I arrived at the Brewer Residence until now, not leaving a single detail out. "What do I do?" I finished dramatically.

"Kim, don't hurt him. This is the happiest that I've seen Jack since, like, ever. He wasn't even like this when it was just him, Lindsay, and the twins. I say you should go for it." She said, finishing her coffee.

"So, you're basically telling me that I should bang my boss?"

"I'm saying that you and I both want Jack's happiness. That includes his children having a mother and him having a woman who is his number one. He's the only one of us who isn't truly happy."

"Okay, Layla I'll give it a try, but make sure that the kids don't find out; incase this doesn't work out, I don't want them getting hurt."

She grinned at me before jumping to a happier topic. "Okay, so Grace, Jewels, Katie, Lizzie, and I are all going to the Queen Victoria Building, aka the mall, on Saturday, for a girl's day out before the Opera on Saturday night. If you and Kenzie want to come, you all are invited." I gave her a look that said, heck yeah! "As much as I'd love to stay and chat on this Tuesday morning, its 3:30 and I need to sleep for at least four hours." We got up and walked back to our respective places, both falling asleep before getting under the covers.

Surprisingly, I woke up before the kids did. I walked downstairs, still in my pj's, and saw Jack at the kitchen table.

I sat next to him and placed my hand on his shoulder. He looked up and me and started to say something before I cut him off. "Let me say this first, and then you can say whatever! I promise!" When he didn't say anything, I took it as my cue to continue. "Well, last night, um, when we almost kissed," I paused; I'm so bad at doing things like this. "I wanted you to kiss me, like so bad. And I know that I'm going to sound like a twelve year old, but I like you; I really like you and I wanna give this a go. I wanna give our relationship a chance. However, I don't want the kids to find out about this unless we are really staying together." I looked up from my fumbling fingers.

After that, it all happened kinda fast; him kissing me hard. But, all that I know is that Jackson Brewer is chocolate; his hair is chocolate, his eyes are chocolate, and his soft, perfect lips taste exactly like chocolate. I don't know how long we were just kissing each other, only pulling away when footsteps were heard, but it ended all too quickly; I could literally kiss him for ages.

After Jack made breakfast, we all decided on going to the Taronga Zoo. When we got there, the twins instantly started begging to see the kangaroos. They ran ahead of Jack and I to the exhibit. Jack threw his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his side. The blushing only got worse when he told me that I looked gorgeous. We saw the kids looking at a joey hiding in his mother's pouch. Anyone looking at us probably guessed that we were a family, either that or Australian employees never hit on their customers.

*Time Skip*

We were at the zoo until 6 o'clock; a lovely way to spend a Wednesday. Jack decided to stop by a seafood place and get something to go so that we can all watch a movie together. We all curled up on the couch together, and that's how we fell asleep.
