I know it has been taking me forever to write. It's been one eventful, busy, and stressful past year. I'll try to get back to my other stories but I kinda need help. I've lost my inspiration to write about anything especailly the ones I've published. Any idea would be terrific. Anyway, please enjoy y'all.
The day wasn't over yet. It was nearly ten o'clock when he got home. This was the worst part of the yearly day. This hour was the reason he was still living a nightmare.
They were taking their nightly walk. Since she was so close to her due date, the doctor highly encouraged the couple to walk daily in order to induce the labor. They usually drove to the park and then began walking. Tonight the park was closed so they were walking the streets of LA. It wasn't the safest thing to do at this late, but Sam insisted and Andy could not argue with a pregnant woman carrying his child. So God help him if their daughter is as stubborn as his wife. As they were walking, Andy noticed a book store open with a coffee shop. He looked over to his lovely wife who noticed the store as well. With Andy's pleading eyes, she complied and decided to look around for books while he got coffee for himself and tea for her. He began purchasing for the coffee when he realized he forgot his wallet in his car.
"Hey honey, I'll be right back. I forgot my wallet in the car." He kissed her on the forehead. As fast as a lightning bolt, he was off.
She sat down with a book and began reading over the summaries. By the time Andy got back she read five book summaries and chose three books to buy.
"Are you done and ready to go?" He grabbed her hand to help her out of the chair.
Samantha grunted and answered, "Yeah. My feet are terribly swollen and I'm afraid I won't make it out of here if we stayed longer."
Andy chuckled, "Okay here's money and I'll meet you outside. I need a smoke."
"Cancer sticks!" She shouted. Her mother died from lung cancer caused by smoking cigarettes.
"Yeah, yeah. We weren't meant to live forever." He stated as a matter of fact.
She frowned. "Don't you want to give our daughter a forever? She can't lose her father like I lost my-"
"Oh please don't cry." He swiped her tear. Andy forgot that the smallest things can send her on an emotional rollercoaster. "I didn't mean it like that. Hells yeah, if I could, I would give our daughter a forever. Think about it though. With the jobs we have, the things we sacrifice every day, and with this damn economy, we can't do that."
She nodded in agreement. And with an exaggerated sign she told him, "Fair enough. But please once she's born promise me you'll quit." Sam rubbed her belly.
He looked down and placed his hands on the sides of her stomach. "I promise." They stood there in silence then he spoke. "Okay I think the cashier is looking annoyed and wants to go home. Go pay for those and we'll go home."
Flynn kissed his wife on the nose one last time before he walked away.
Andy hopped in bed after he took his clothes off. The same subject was on his mind still as it has been since that morning. Flynn was developing a head ache. He thought taking a Tylenol and going to sleep would help, but it didn't.
Sam put the books on the counter. "Hi" The man swiped the books as steadily as possible. She figured he must have been uncomfortable with how stiff and sweaty he was. She smiled politely.
"That would be $15 please." She paid and he wrote on her receipt before handing it and the bags to her. "Have a good day mam." He was stuttering and sweating profusely now.
She nodded her head, "You too." Sam read the receipt. It said in shaky handwriting, 'Help. Gun under counter.' She looked for Andy outside the window. He wasn't anywhere to be found. He must have walked out back.
Dammit. She couldn't leave this man alone but she also couldn't put herself in a dangerous situation since she was pregnant. She turned around slowly only to find a man with a gun pointed at her a few feet away. Bang, bang!
Andy woke up all sweaty. He was panting. It was not two in the morning and he finally stopped tossing and turning at one. Andy lay back down and held his breath. He began to cry.
