Chapter Seven
Second Opinion…sort of
Author's note and disclaimer: Soooooo its been awhile. I didn't really know how to continue after chapter six and I still don't ahahaha. Anyway. So Himeno's eggo is preggo, I don't know if I want this to be a safe pregnancy or dangerous one. You guys know how much I love to write tragedy. This also might be a short one. So sorry.
I do not own Gundam Wing.
Wufei stirred awake, feeling something warm and heavy lying on his legs. He sat up on his elbows and saw the puppy had stretched herself over Wufei's legs, each paw dangling over the edge. He chuckled at the awkward position and picked her up. He circled her body so she would lie perfectly on his lap. He found it funny when the dog didn't fuss and try to claw her way out. With so much playing and rough housing yesterday she was exhausted by the time Wufei and Himeno went to bed.
He looked to his wife's side of the bed and did a double take, finding that she wasn't there. Checking the clock Wufei was stunned to see the time was seven in the morning and then worried because Himeno was never up so early—at least not without a struggle. Tossing the bedding aside and bringing the puppy with him, they ventured out into the living room. No one was there. Wufei panicked. Quickly putting the dog into her kennel, Wufei ran around the house to find that Himeno's shoes and wallet were missing. He cursed—she had left behind her gun, badge and phone so there was no way of getting ahold of her.
He stood there for a moment running through every possible scenario that could be taking place at the moment. The very last one scared him the most. Himeno didn't look exactly thrilled being pregnant, she didn't say much, but she couldn't be getting an abortion. He hoped that she would at least speak with him about it first. Sally had gone over a few things with them, she told them that it was okay to be a little bit scared, but that it was important to talk about these emotions. If not with each other, then with someone else that they could trust.
Wufei searched for his phone and decided to call a few of their friends, he was a little nervous—he didn't want any of them to know that his wife was pregnant. But he needed to find her.
Meanwhile
Quatre was shocked to see Himeno standing in the doorway looking exhausted, pale and scared. His confused bush-eyed bright eyes became serious.
"If Wufei said something to hurt you, I'll kill him." Quatre blurted, obviously proving that he wasn't the best morning person.
Himeno could help but laugh as she hugged the angle faced pilot, making the trip over to his and Trowa's house even better.
"Aya—Himeno, is something wrong?" Trowa asked as he ran his hand through his disheveled hair. "You're never up this early."
"I know its early, I'm sorry." Himeno apologized, "but I really need to talk to you guys."
Trowa and Himeno sat patiently at the kitchen table while Quatre prepared breakfast and the coffee, feeling a little uneasy—Himeno didn't know if she should have coffee. The silent pilot trained his eyes on her, looking her over. She didn't appear to be injured; she looked a little thinner and paler, but nothing too serious. Trowa knew that Wufei would never lay hand on her; Himeno would only retaliate violently, so she wasn't being abused. But there something about her, even though she appeared sickly, there was a certain glow about her.
"Alright, now that I'm fully awake, you can tell us what's going on." Quatre said as he laid out a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast. She rejected the coffee politely and took a glass of orange juice instead.
At first Himeno didn't know where to start, she sighed heavily, "just promise me you guys won't freak out until after I'm done telling you the whole story."
The couple nodded, now fearing the news she was about to spill.
"Yesterday Wufei hinted at the fact that I might be pregnant and after I calculated it in my head I thought I might be. So we called Sally over and after the blood work and peeing on I don't know how many sticks we came to conclusion that I am pregnant. We're just waiting on my blood results, which I should get today. And before you ask, I'm four weeks along." Himeno uttered and waited for their reactions. For a second there wasn't any, but as the seconds passed Quatre's face began to light up and Trowa was wearing a smile that he only wore when he was actually happy.
"You're pregnant!" Quatre cheered.
"We also bought a puppy." Himeno answered as the blonde engulfed her in a hug and as Quatre went and on about her being pregnant she kept bringing up the dog.
Quatre pushed himself away, glaring seriously back at the pregnant woman. "You're going to need a bigger place!"
"Yea I know, but that's not why I'm here." Himeno struggled to get her sentence out while Quatre ran out of the kitchen. She turned towards Trowa who was just smiling away. "What's so funny?"
Trowa sat back in his chair, still smiling, "nothing at all. I'm just picturing what Wufei will look like playing with a child."
Himeno had to stop and think for moment, she hadn't thought about their future. The other day they were threatening their boss to dis-throne. They were wanted to get in as much time in with each other before Wufei left on his consultation trip. Now, that they were expecting a child it changed a few things. It changed her perspective on everything. Wufei was already patient and understanding, but now he would be tested with a baby that would be crying and screaming for the first few years of its life, but knowing him he would probably excel at being a father. After all, he was able to put up with Duo's antics, loudness and pranks. However, she would like to see Wufei's warmth engulfing the child as he held him or her.
And then there were the child's many aunts and uncles.
"Thank you Trowa." Himeno said as she placed a hand on her stomach that would most likely grow to be bigger than watermelon.
"What did I do," he asked in between taking sips of his tea.
"You cleared a few things up for me," she explained, "I didn't know I felt about being pregnant or being a mother."
"And…what was the conclusion you came to?" Trowa asked peering over his coffee cup, seeing a figure walk up behind his guest.
"That I'm not alone in all of this baby stuff." Himeno sighed contently, "You would think that after everything we've gone through as a unit and as individuals I would have gotten that by now."
Trowa nodded, "you are the most stubborn out of all of us, I will give you that. But I think I'll give you two sometime to yourselves.
Himeno stood at the same time Trowa did, but in confusion. She thought that her friend was having some sort of stroke until she felt a familiar callous hand smooth over her shoulder and forced her to turn around. In shock, Himeno's mouth dropped, she was expecting Wufei to follow her, but she thought of their situation and the circumstances what they were—she couldn't really be surprised.
"I should have left a note." Himeno spoke bluntly sweeping the strands of loose hair out of Wufei's face. He probably ran up those ridiculous stairs just to get to the front door, busted down said door and most likely ran into Quatre before he tore apart the house.
"Yes you should have." Wufei cursed at Himeno's whimsical gaze as she never lost eye contact with his own frustrated glare. He could never stay mad at her for long, especially with those eyes of hers. Wufei grabbed hold of her wrists and roughly pulled her into a tight embrace.
Author's Note: Well I think that's a good place to stop. Sorry this chapter is so short, but I'm fighting either a summer cold or some really bad allergies. So being under the influences of allergy, cold and some other medication, I shouldn't be writing or else the characters will be doing a victory dance around the fire.
