Previously on Different Worlds Collide
"I am done with you. Karina Menzler is breaking up with you, Luke Michelson! Now get the hell out!"
I was panting by the time I was done with my rant, and I knew my uncle was going to be up my ass once he heard what had happened. This was my decision and consequences be damned. I'd deal with them later.
Luke had some sort of look in his eyes that I couldn't place. He simply got up from his seat then approached me. I was still panting, but he grabbed my chin forcing me to look at him.
"Just remember something, Karina, you're putting this on yourself and won't ever be able to get back here." He kissed me one last time before exiting the restaurant quietly.
It was completely quiet in the restaurant and I knew everyone's eyes were on me. Yep, I was going to get a new reputation in this town other than actress. What, I didn't know, but I knew it wasn't going to be good reputation. I swear I could hear a pin drop until one person interrupted everything.
"What is going on down here?" Unalaq proclaimed.
I would like to know myself. What the hell happened?
Korra's POV
"Korra, in my office! Now!" Unalaq yelled as he saw me in the center of his restaurant with everyone else's eyes on me.
Nothing like taking the walk of shame in your family's own restaurant. As I started to walk out of the customer's area, I already heard the whispers start to stir. I just shook my head as I continued to walk out of there.
My uncle followed closely behind me. When we got to his office, I took a seat in the chair while he took a seat at his desk. I patiently waited for him to start yelling. I knew how he always grilled someone about anything that upset him. He took some deep breaths then he slammed his hands on something and began his rant.
"Are you fucking nuts?" he screeched as he slammed his hands on his desk causing the items on it to rattle. "You don't make a scene like that in our restaurant for two reasons. One, it's bad for business; two, you don't need to draw more attention to yourself!"
"Unalaq-"
"No, Korra! You need to think your decisions through and not act based on the moment! This was neither the time nor the place to cuss out your boyfriend. There are children here and I'm going to get many complaints about what you displayed out there. Do you have anything to say for yourself?" He crossed his arms over his chest with a look of anger on his face.
"Just ten minutes ago you were telling me that I need to make my own decisions, and now you're yelling at me because I had made my own decision. Now what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to make my own decisions or am I supposed to follow your orders like a two year old?"
"Yes, you need to make your own decisions, but with logic. Is having a fight with your boyfriend in the middle of our restaurant the smartest idea? Did you even think about the consequences? A famous person having a fight with someone is always big news. You can't make rash decisions and assume everything is going to be fine in the end."
Okay, maybe he had a point in that. I'd been in this rut before and I never learned from my mistakes from before. There was just some part in my brain that never adjusted to think things through at all. I never liked over thinking things, but if I was going to survive in this world it was something that I was going to have to adapt to. It was that or drown.
My uncle cooled off shortly after that telling me to just leave and cool off myself, but I had to apologize to the customers that still remained. It was a fair deal, and I had done it before when I broke the thermostat when I was like fifteen. So I ended up apologizing and I just ended up with some blank stares and murmurs. Hey, it could've been worst. They could've thrown their food at me.
Then I had another problem. Dakota and Tahno. I sure as hell wasn't staying at this restaurant to discuss what had happened between Luke and me. I quickly herded them up and we all walked to my house to talk about it in private. The walk over was completely silent. When we arrived at my uncle's, I sent Tahno and Dakota to my room while I returned my skateboard to the garage.
I pulled out the box again to find some of the things I used to love. I looked at my skateboard again looking at the custom board design. It was several different shades of ice blue with the name that began everything.
Ice Dragon
It was an extra stage name for me, but I hadn't been called it for over two years. It was more of a beginning name for me. I was mostly known as Karina Menzler right now. However, that name reminded me too much of everything, and I had the constant reminder of that name at my own house.
I threw the skateboard into the box carelessly before running away, and I almost didn't hear the crack erupting in the garage. I didn't care though. It was too much.
"The hell you've been, girl?" Dakota questioned as I walked into my room.
"Lost," I sighed as I sat in my chair at my desk.
"First things, first. What the hell happened between you and Luke?" Tahno asked me as he snooped around in my closet. What the fuck was he doing? Looking for some skinny jeans for his ass?
Nevertheless, I explained what happened from the moment he touched me. Something was fishy about how he was acting, and I didn't know what his plan was yet. Tahno suggested blackmail for something, but I had nothing that he would want. Well, other than getting in my pants.
Dakota never knew Luke that well, but knew him well enough that whatever he was planning was going to be big. I agreed with her, but I had two ideas. His plan was going to destroy me or he was going to get captivated by some other chick and forget all about me. I hoped it was the latter.
The next day I needed some me time so I decided to take a stroll through the town by myself. As I walked through town, I had a lot of time to think about what was about to come to me. I needed time to regroup and reevaluate what I needed to do with my life. I was never supposed to take the path I took, but it was the one I got swept up in.
I ended up standing outside the pizza joint in our town. I had some good times in there, but after a while I hated going there. I was staring at the sign when I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"When was the last time I saw you?" a man questioned while he had a smirk on his face. From his facial features, I couldn't remember when I ever met this man.
"Excuse me? I don't ever remember meeting you." This could've been another perverted guy wanting me just because I was famous. I had been there done that before.
"Korra, it's me Howl. My father owns this joint." I then remembered him. We weren't friends or anything, but we had a few light conversations before.
"Oh yeah."
"Why don't I treat you to a pizza on the house? You probably haven't had one in ages."
Against my will, I was forced to go into the place and have an early lunch with him. I wasn't against having free pizza, but I would've liked to have the choice to have been able to not to. We didn't really talk about much. He just talked about what was going on with the place and some other people our age and I just talked about how my life was shitty.
As we were talking, I had that strange feeling again. I felt like someone was watching me. I tried to concentrate on what Howl was saying, but my eyes kept wandering to see if anyone was watching me.
I practically jumped out of my seat when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Howl had a concerned look on his face, but I told him I was just surprised. He continued to talk while I checked my phone to find a text from Mako.
Just wondering how it's going in Colorado –M
That was random. I hadn't talked to him at all yesterday and he suddenly texted me. I threw that to the side and texted him back.
I've had better –K
Howl and I were about to leave the pizza place when I got a response from Mako.
We all have our off days. You still have like two days. Anyway, get back soon cause Bo is bugging the hell out of me –M
It wasn't exactly what I was excepting, but it was nicest thing I'd heard in a while from a friend from Hollywood. I didn't respond to him because I didn't know what to say.
After about another ten minutes, Howl finally decided to walk me out of the place. We both said our goodbyes and I was about to exit, but he held my elbow back.
"Hey, close your close your eyes. I want to give you something."
I must've given him a wary look because he then explained that he wasn't going to try to do anything that wasn't his business. I figured that he couldn't do anything too rash since his father owned the restaurant and with many people around so I closed my eyes.
I felt him grab my hand and gently led me somewhere. I heard the sound of toilets in the background so I figured that he dragged me to the hall that led to where the bathrooms were. Why he lead me there, I didn't know, but something happened before I could stop it.
He pushed me up against the wall while pushing his lips against mine. His hands gripped my wrists and kept my hands pressed against the wall by my sides. All I knew was that this was second time I had been manhandled by a guy in less than a day so I decided to have a little fun with it.
I kissed him back which seemed to surprise him, but he continued to kiss me. His lips were rough, chapped, and plain disgusting. When he finally pulled away from me, he placed his forehead on mine which made me a little uncomfortable.
"You don't realize how long it I wanted to do that. Not often that you get to kiss a famous actress," he whispered while he rubbed his nose against mine.
"Yeah, and you don't know how long I've wanted to do this," I whispered to him while kneeing his junk.
He keeled over onto the floor while holding his junk. He deserved it because what he did was totally uncalled for. I bent down to his level to make sure he understood what I was about to tell him.
"Listen here, prick. I don't need manhandled by a guy I've barely ever talked to before. I don't know what the hell's up your ass, but you need to stop. Unless you never want any children, I suggest that you don't talk to me or follow me again. Have fun with the pain that you brought upon yourself."
I quickly left that joint and I knew one thing.
I have to get the hell out of this town soon
The rest of the day was a big bust. I didn't do anything except go to the movies later that night with Dakota and Tahno in which I ended up falling asleep on Tahno's shoulder because movie was horrible. That was the highlight of my weekend though. That was just sad.
Monday rolled around soon enough and I didn't know how I was going to get home. I was driven by Luke and I sure that wasn't an option now. I was on my uncle's laptop around six in the morning looking for flights to go home when I received a text from the last person I thought I'd receive a text from.
Come on. I'm in your driveway. I'm driving you home, and we'll never see each other again –L
I debated about it for a second before deciding to just get it over with. One final trip with him wasn't going to kill me. It was like that one last kiss that couples always had for closure except I knew that the only thing we were doing for closure was taking a ride back to Hollywood.
Once I said goodbye to my uncle and my cousins, I stepped outside the door. I found his truck in the driveway, and I took a final breath before walking towards his car. I threw my stuff in the back minus my phone. My hand trembled as I opened the front door to step in. I quickly got inside the car as we muttered our short greetings to each other.
The entire drive was spent with complete silence from us with only the radio playing softly in the background. I fell asleep half way through the ride only to woken up by my phone vibrating several times.
Wth Karina? –M
They better not be true –M
Where the hell are you? –M
It's kind of hard to fake this. You either do it or not. –M
Da hell Korra? –D
Karina you better answer your texts before Mako has a heart attack –B
Karina it's Asami. I got your number from Bo. Anyway, I know it's overrated, but please tell me it's not true. It's kind of hard to fake this crap unless it's in a movie–A
Girl! Answer your phone! Mako is hyperventilating! -A
We got a two maybe three timing bitch over here! Way to go Korra! And note the joke. –T
None of those texts made any sense at all. I had no clue as to what the hell they were talking about. I just shoved my phone back in my pocket because I would just go to Mako's once I was back at home.
It continued to vibrate for the remainder of the ride which started to annoy me. I somehow fell asleep again, but then woke up about two hours later to a sudden use of the breaks.
"I have to stop in here for something. I'll be like five minutes tops." With that said Luke jumped out of the car and went into what looked like a hardware store.
My muscles were so tight from sleeping in the tiny space so I got out of the car. I was stretching my muscles out when I heard them.
Paparazzi
They started shouting out the most random things that I had no clue as to what they were talking about. Some were about my unheard of disappearance, but I wasn't going to answer that. What I heard from one man was when I really listened.
"Karina, Karina! Is it true that you're in between three different men? None of which know that your cheating on any of them."
Then there was the other reporter.
"How long have you been seeing these three different men? How long have you been cheating on your loyal boyfriend, Luke Michelson?"
And finally there was him.
"You're cheating on me?"

Boom! That's how we roll! Less than two weeks! That's a new record for me. I don't really have much to say, but this wasn't an originally planned chapter so if it doesn't exactly fix that's why. This one, the one before, and the one after weren't originally planned.
Yeah, you probably won't get anything new until at the earliest mid-December because I have to research for a debate, a short story, a report, and an oral speech coming up along with all the tests teachers try to fit in before Christmas break. We've all been there, admit it.
Follow, favorite and review what you hated and loved:)
See y'all next time! Have a great Thanksgiving and a great break! I know I will for the next week:)And enjoy the rest of your day/night:)
