Crimson Rose Chapter 2

I woke to the cold winter air blowing harshly through the prison cell, the night got colder, and snow had fallen when I was asleep, my body was shaking uncontrollably with the cold air. I was only wearing a knee length white kimono with short sleeves, it really didn't help with the cold. My head was in pain, and my wrists and ankles were the chains were holding me began to ache with the cold. My face felt puffy and my eyes were swollen with all the crying I did.

I still don't know how I was going to get out of this prison. I started to search thru the outside of the prison cell that I was in, and found nothing that would help me out. Then I started to pry my hands out of the chains, I grabbed one of them and started to pull on it, only to have it cut me, pain was felt every time I pulled at it. Then blood started to flow down from my wrist making it a little easier to pull off the cuff.

"Alright then, now I have 3 more to go." I said out loud through chattering teeth, trying to ignore the pain that I felt. I notice that the blood had stained my kimono, I frowned at the sight of it. "Ugh, dammit!" I growled out. "It's so cold. I guess this is my time. I'm going to die, what I great way to go, freezing to death, and I haven't gotten answers yet." Tears started to form in my eyes. All the memories came back to me from last night. My parents, my brother, everything gone. More tears came running down my face, then footsteps were heard.

"Who's there?" I yelled laced with venom. It better not be him again. I had enough of that man.

"It's okay, I'm just here to help you."

It was a woman, she was covered head to toe with a cloak. She gave of this mysterious aura about herself. From under her cloak she pulled out a bag, some keys, and a pouch of coins. I stared at her confused. With the key she started to unlock my prison cell and open the door. Then she tossed she tossed the keys to me.

"Quickly free yourself." she said in a serious tone. "They will be back to check up on you."

What's going on? Who is she? I kept glancing at her, maybe it was a trap. But none the less I quickly undid the chains that were holding me captive. And I was free from that cell. I jumped of it and looked at her with curiosity.

"There are clothes in this bag, change quickly and run straight the forest. Don't look back. Keep running, because when they find out that you've gone they'll come after you. Listen child..." she briefly paused. I started to take the clothes out of the bag and started to change as quickly as I could. "I'm only going to repeat it once. In the pouch there's a knife just in case you get attacked by a wild animal. Be careful once you are in the forest there's a lot of mysterious things happening. Make sure you head north past the abandoned Uchiha Castle. Theirs a town straight up the path right next to it, make sure you follow it. Once you're clear out into town you will now be free from Danzo's clutches. But beware of the castle do not go near It." she warned with a tiny hint of amusement to her voice. "Is that understood?" she asked. At this she moved a little closer to me and I could actually see her smirking under that hood of hers.

"Understood." I replied a bit wary of her warning.

"Now go!" she commanded.

"Thank you." I smiled at her.

I started to run towards the forest, I was now fully clothed with shoes, black pants, a black long sleeve shirt, and a long thick black cloak. My wrist was bandaged, there was blood still flowing out of it staining the bandages. Hopefully the flow would stop, I didn't think the cut was deep. Oh well I will fix those later. Once I was at the edge of the forest I did look back and when I did the mysterious woman was gone. I turned around and then started to run again. So many questions ran inside my head, who was she? Why did she even bother to help me? Ugh why? Damn it all, and with that I kept running.

Hours later

The sun was finally coming up and that meant that Danzo and his men will get a very nice surprise this very moment. I would have loved to see his face when he notices I'm gone. Then that got me to think about why I was here in the forest in the first place. Everything lead up here because of the Uchiha's. What is so important about them? Everything is so confusing. But I kept running while I had remembered something.

The Uchiha castle actually exists I thought that was only a fabled tale told by the wise old people to scare children to bed. An abandoned castle huh? My father told me so many stories about the place when I was a young child, said that his great grandfather use to work with these said Uchihas. They were nice people, they had given the man a big chunk of land to live on. The one we were actually living on. That made me so sad, for them however, everything had changed one day when the Uchiha's head advisor Orochimaru put a curse on them making all of them into demons. But when that happened the oldest son of the king was ordered by his own father to kill in cold blood every single member of the family. Since the curse had yet to get to his children the boy had no choice but to listen and killed his family one by one. But then the curse had over taken him and the older Uchiha had to kill himself in order to save his younger brother by being killed by himself. The younger Uchiha was unaffected by the curse, but he suffered the loss of his family in the hands of Orochimaru. Swearing to take revenge on him the boy grew, trained hard and defeated Orochimaru in a fight to the death. Once the man was defeated, the grown boy went back to his home, his castle, what was left of it at least. The people who served and who were loyal to the Uchiha stayed and had maintained the castle the way the young boy had left it years ago. The boys' friends and people had greeted him when he first arrived, they decide to have a small banquet to celebrate his arrival. But the boy had changed, he became heartless and cold, distant with everyone. But none the less his dear friends stuck by his side. They knew it was just too much that had happened over the years. On that night, while the celebration had taken place, a knock was heard at the door. One of the Princes friends opened it to reveal an old woman. She had asked to talk to the owner of the castle, and she was greeted with a very cold stare by the young master of the house. She had explained why she was there, she need a place to stay a night and wait for the snow storm that had started to pass. But he refused to give her any help, thus she cursed him to become a demon, to match his cold demeanor. For those that stay with him in his home would also be cursed along with him, she had warned them. Panic struck that night and only the most faithful to the Uchiha stayed behind. From that point on nobody heard from anyone in the castle any more.

After a while of walking I noticed that it was now midday and I at least have gotten far from my home. I'm hoping that after I go to that mysterious town that woman had mentioned saves me from the clutches of Danzo. I look straight at the path in forest soon that path will lead me to my freedom, I also notice that the weather had change in a matter of minutes, the sun disappeared behind the clouds, and the temperature was dropping by the minute. I kept going straight following the path, and snow started to fall, the wind picked up. The Uchiha castle had come to my view. I had to take shelter inside if I didn't want to freeze to death. So ignoring the warning I had gotten earlier from the mystery woman I headed towards the castle.
