Chapter three: Monday in Soul Society; Escape & the Fourth
I DON'T OWN BLEACH! Thanks for all the reveiws! I need to buy my own computer so I can update more frequently. I almost have enough! I'm changing this to T because Toshiro's language is going to take a turn.
Toshiro rolled over onto his side and stretched. He gave a big yawn and rubbed his eyes. Once he opened them, he took a look at the clock. It was four a.m.
'Time to go to work.' Toshiro thought. Suddenly the previous day's events came flooding back into his memory. He sat up abruptly and looked around his room. Everything was the way it was suppose to be, except the peices of wood shuting off any sunlight that could come into his room via window.
There was a small rumbling noise coming from somewhere in his room. Toshiro looked around. He heard it again and blushed. It was his stomach that was growling. He quietly got out of bed and silently walked to his door. He only felt a dull ach in his ankle now. He procceeded to open the door. Toshiro was slightly shocked that Ichimaru hadn't locked it.
He wandered over to the kitchen area looking for food. He usually had instant ramen or soup for breakfast. He went on his tiptoes trying to get down a pan from above the stove, but he couldn't reach, like every morning. Toshiro huffed at his own inconvenience. He slowly walked over to the table and dragged a chair away from it. He put the chair next to the stove and got up on it. He opened the cuboard and got his pan, only for him to drop it. It made a loud clattering sound. Toshiro froze and listened for sounds of anyone possibly waking up. There was not even a sound of a mouse. He sighed and got down off the chair, putting it back in it's place. He picked up the pan and filled it with water. He added the noodles and cooked it.
G
Gin was peacefully cuddling his pillow in his sleep when a loud clatter aroused him. He looked at the clock and saw that it read 4:15 a.m.
"Who's makin' a rucuss this early?" He mumbled. He got out of bed and silently went into the living room. Gin saw Toshiro frozen in place looking at a pot on the ground. The boy gave a sigh of relief, picked up the pan, and proceeded to make something. Gin leaned against the doorframe of the kitchen and watched. He couldn't really see what the boy was putting in the pan, so he got closer. Gin was standing right behind Toshiro and said boy didn't seem to notice. It looked like the boy was making instant ramen at four thirty in the morning. Gin quickly hid when Toshiro turned around. The boy stood there a moment before walking off into the living room. Gin heard a door close and the shower starting. Gin came out of his hiding spot and looked at the door leading to the bathroom.
"He's seriously leavin' somethin' cookin' on the stove while he takes a shower? How stupid is he?" Gin asked himself. He looked over at the stove. It was set at a very low temperature. "Maybe he does have some common sense afta all... He can't eat ramen for breakfast though." Gin said to himself as he turned off the stove and put the noodles down the garbage disposal.
'He'll just make more.' Said Shinso.
'That's why 'm gettin' rid of all the ramen here.'
'He'll just make somethin' else that's easy to make.'
'I don' think Shiro-chan eats anythin' other than ramen and' he thought untill he was rudely interrupted.
'He's gone.' Shinso stated.
'Wha do ya mean? Who's gone?'
'The kid is gone you baka!' Gin snapped out of his trance and looked around. Shiro-chan was gone. He sighed. How did he miss that? He attempted to trace what little reitsu the boy had, but found that he had hidden it. He looked throughout the house. The kitchen, living room, bathroom, and the boy's room, but found no trace of him.
"Where did he go? Tell me he didn' leave de house." He asked himself.
'He couldn't have left. Ran-chan put a barrier up around the the windows and front door so neither of you would leave.' Shinso answered.
'Why would she do that?' Gin asked curiously. 'Does Ran-chan have no faith in meh?'
'I think I saw a flash of black in the garden!'
'Are ya avoiding the question?'
'Seriously! I think he's in the garden!'
'Fine. We aren't done talkin' 'bout this though.' Gin told his zanpakto as he went into the garden. He looked around for spots of black and white. All he could see were flowers and rocks.
'He ain't out here.'
'Did you ckeck the white flowers? They are the same color as his hair.' remarked his zanpakto.
'Why would Shiro-chan hide in flowers? He's a lot smarter than that.'
'Just check.'
'Fine, fine.' Gin looked over the yard for any sign of white flowers. There were three patches of white lillies. There was a small rustle of movement over there.
"Hmm... Where oh where could Shiro-chan have gone," Gin asked himself. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!" He sang, silently creeping closer to the white flowers. Just as he reached the flowers, a black cat jumped out of them and scared Gin, making him trip and fall backwards. The cat leaped onto his stomach and asked, "Did I really scare you that much, Gin-kun?" in a masculine voice.
"Y is he drooling on the completed paperwork?!'
'Yep. Now your reason why ya call 'em both taicho...?'
'Not now Haineko.' She said as she rushed over to the taicho's desk. She leaned down next to his ear and yelled, "GET UP YOU MORON! YOU'RE RUINING THE PAPERWORK!"
"Five more minutes, Shiro-chan." Isshin replied sleepily. Matsumoto then promptly hit him on the head with a book. His head shot straight up with a hand covering a fresh lump.
"What was"
"We would love to Shinji." Rangiku butted in.
"But Rangikuuuuuuuuuuu..." whined Isshin.
"You still have explaining to do. Lunch sounds like a perfect time to do that. My hands are also starting to cramp." She whined.
"Okay, okay. How about you bring Gin-kun and Shiro-chan along?" Isshin replied.
"You mean the kid and Gin? The kid is fine, but I don't want Gin anywhere near me." Shinji said as he looked away.
"Come on Shinji. What do you have against Gin-kun?"
"He killed to get his position as third seat in my division, helped Aizen, and also cut Hiyori in half."
"Gin served under you?" Rangiku asked suddenly.
"Yeah. I thought you knew?" Shinji replied as he turned his head to her.
"No. I thought he only served under Aizen."
"Technically speaking he did. He rarely listened to me. He only did what I wanted if I threatened to take away his persimmons. Such a wierd kid." Rangiku giggled at the man's statement, causing him to smile.
She eventually sighed though, making Shinji frown. "We can not go out to eat with you than. I can't let Gin wander around on his own. He always causes mischief when he's outside." Shinji thought about this for a second. 'Err... If I can't get either one to go, I won't get the captain or lieutenant discount. Rangiku is sooo pretty too. Such a nice body. I guess Gin can come as long as he stays out of the way. The damn brat. He always messes with my plans.'
"I guess Gin can come..." Shinji mumbled.
"Oh! Thank you so much, Shinji!" Shouted Rangiku as she gave Shinji a giant hug. Isshin burst out laughing and fell out of his chair. Shinji was sitting on the couch while Rangiku was kneeling on the couch, arms wrapped around his head. Shinji's head had disappeared though... Into where? Into a valley between two huge mountains. When Rangiku released Shinji, he was panting, but he still said with a smile, "Could I have another hug Rangiku-chan?" She playful hit him on the arm and stood up. They had grown close over the past week. He was now another one of her close guy buds.
"They should both still be at the house." Rangiku said as she led the way to where Gin and Hitsugaya were. She opened the door and shouted, "I'm back! Did you miss me?!" She stature became rigid all of a sudden as she stood still in the entryway for a minute.
"Is there something wrong, Rangiku?" Isshin asked. His only response was a sudden burst of spiritual pressure from the woman in front of him.
"They're gone, aren't they?" Shinji mumbled under his breath to Isshin.
"Uh huh." Isshin replied. The next thing they knew, Rangiku had shunpoed away.
"I wouldn't wantta be either of them when Rangiku finds them." Shinji said to Isshin before they both shunpoed after her.
T
He had just bumped into something solid causing him to fall to his butt.
"Watch where you're going!" Toahiro yelled as he looked up to find the identity of the person who made him look like an idiot. He couldn't see though, for the sun was right behind the person.
"Watch where I'm goin'? Ya better watch where your goin' kid." Replied the figure in a deep voice.
"Kid? I am not a kid!"
"Hehe! Does Snowy wanna play with Kenny?" Giggled a figure popping out on the man's shoulder, he presumed it was a man. Suddenly another person shunpoed in front of Toshiro and hefted him up under the armpits so the person could look him straight in the eye. He was looking straight into the slits of the snake himself. When Toshiro saw the man again, his blood boiled. They stared at eachother for a minute before Gin spoke, not to him though.
"Sorry Kenpachi. Shiro-chan here doesn' wanna fight ya right now." Gin said as he placed Toshiro on his hip. Toshiro began trying to push away.
Kenpachi raised an eyebrow and remarked, "The brat can speak for himself."
"I am not a brat!" Toshiro yelled as he stopped his struggles to glare at Kenpachi.
"If he's not gonna say he won't fight me, we'll fight." Kenpachi replied as he started to draw his sword.
"I thought the eleventh division had a policy about
fightin' women and children?" Gin offhandedly remarked.
"HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU?! I. AM. NOT. A. CHILD!" Toshiro shrieked as he exerted his reitsu. It was at it's limit, which was probably about that of a non-seated officer who didn't know their zanpakto's name. Once most of his reitsu was gone, his head fell onto Gin's shoulder, exhausted.
"I think he wants to fight." Smiled Zaraki, not realizing Toshiro barely had anymore reitsu.
"Yeah! Ken-chan gets to fight snowy!" Shouted Yachiru.
"Hold it right there!" Shouted a feminine voice. All their heads turned to see Shinji, Isshin, and an extremely angered Matsumoto a little ways away. Gin gulped at the sight while Toshiro shivered.
'I probably shouldn't have exerted my reitsu like that.' Toshiro thought. He got a loud rumble in response.
"Hyorinmaru?" He whispered. Gin looked at him for a second before he focused on Rangiku again.
"IToshiro." Matsumoto growled.
"Hitsugaya-taicho." Toshiro stated as he fixed the seathing woman with an icy glare.
"Why did you leave in the first place?" Matsumoto asked quietly as her head went down so her hair covered her face.
"Put me down first." Toshiro demanded. Gin obliged and set him down. Toshiro stood in front of them for a seconds on shaky legs. Then his legs gave out underneath him causing the knees to meet the cement.
"Are you okay, taicho?" Matsumoto asked as she rushed to his side.
"I'm fine." He replied pushing her away. "You want to know why I left? I left the house because I didn't want to be in the same house, yet alone the same room, as that traitor! He betrayed the Soul Society but got off easy! He is even regaining his position as a captain! Yet I get my powers sealed for two months just because I wanted to brutally kill that bastard Aizen! Plus that monster broke your heart when he left! You couldn't do anything! All you would do was drink, sleep, and cry! He is the reason that happened! Besides, he's out to get me. I don't know why, but I get the feeling he is trying to make my life a living hell! You' are both treating me as if I'm a child and I'm not! Fine, I'll admit I'm not a captain right now, but in no way am I a child!" Toshiro ranted as his emotions got the better of him for once. By the end he was panting. Everyone around the boy stared at him wide eyed, except Gin of course, mouths slightly agape.
"Did he just..." asked Matsumoto.
"He did." Replied Isshin. "Congratulation Gin-kun. I've been trying to make Shiro-chan throw a temper tantrum forever. You did by just being in his presence." Isshin said as he patted Gin on the back. Gin wasn't listening though. He was eyeing the small boy in front of him. Toshiro had his eyes closed and teeth gritted in effort and cosontration, hands balled into fists at his sides. Gin felt a small increase in reitsu and crouched down next to the young boy.
"Don' do it Shiro-chan." He warned. Toshiro glared at him in response. Gin sighed as he shifted to a kneeling position and grabbed the boy.
"Hey! Release me!" He demanded as he was squished closer to Gin's body.
"Not untill ya stop."
"What's the kid doing?" Shinji asked as he stuck his pinkie in his ear to clean it out.
"M nah a kif!" came Toshiro's smothered reply.
"He's tryin' ta break the seal." Gin replied with a frown.
"Toshiro! You know what happens if you try to break the seal! The seal could end up damaging your reitsu! If you break it, I don't know what will happen them!" Isshin shouted hysterically as his eyes went wide.
"You think he cares about that right now?! All Toshiro here wants is to have his power back! He's blocking out everything and everyone right now as he focuses on the seal!" Gin yelled back as Toshiro struggled harder against him and the seal and he pulled the boy closer.
"What do we do?!" Asked a hysteric Matsumoto.
"I don' know!" Isshin replied. As he turned his away from the two silver headed males to look at Matsumoto.
"Perhaps Unohana knows." Shinji said calmly, seeming to not be interested in the events playing out before him.
"Ya think she knows what to do?" Gin asked as he pulled Toshiro even closer.
"Dunno. At least she knows how to handle kids." Shinji replied. Gin hesitated for a second before nodding his head in confirmation and shunpoing away. The small group followed.
