Sage gazed at the closed door that Nate just disappeared through. Tears were still streaming down her face. She tried to comprehend what just had happened, but her mind couldn't grasp it. He's gone. He just went and threw me out of his life. Without even looking back. What did I do to deserve this? We're meant to be together and he… he wants to marry her. Even got her pregnant. How could Nate do this to me? This was not supposed to happen. It shouldn't end this way. Two years I didn't let anyone get emotional close to me, because I knew that Nate would be mine. That he only needed some time apart and fool around with this blonde bitch… see that she is not the one for him. And now? Now he hates me? All I ever did was to love him and he hates me? For what? For loving him? Trying to be a part of his life? I can't believe that he just went, that he was so cold…

She was torn out of her thoughts when she heard the door close. She looked up in hope to find Nate standing there, ready to apologize, but instead she found Blair, her cold eyes fixated on her. She let her head fall down again.

"Spare me the I-told-you-so-phrase", the young brunette said defeated, her voice close on cracking to its entire.

Blair gazed her over. She looked broken, and somehow… lost. She could almost feel for the girl in front of her. From the tears and the broken state, she obviously loved Nate more than Blair had thought. Losing the one you love, Blair knew all too well how that felt. Nevertheless, she was never meant to be with Nate in the first place. And what she did to Jenny, no, she couldn't feel sorry for that girl.

"You do love him", Blair stated with a little sympathy.

Sage looked up again, her eyes weary, trying to decipher what Blair was up to. "Of course, and you of all people should know that", she spat out.

"Excuse me? How should I know what's going on in that head or heart of yours?", Blair asked confused.

Sage snorted and stood up from the chair that she had sat on after Nate left. She sighed, brushing her tears away. "Thanksgiving. You promised to help me to get him back. Instead he went with Jenny and didn't even stand up for me when we got in a verbal fight", she reminded the elder brunette.

Blair nodded in recognition. "Right, that plan backfired."

"Tell me about it!", Sage snapped.

"Au contraire, mon non ami. That plan was never about you getting back with Nate. I only used you, I needed your dad to break up Serena and Dan. But he failed massively on doing so. On the other hand, I was wrong back then. Seems as Humphrey is making Serena more happy than anyone ever could… so let it be. Nate on the other hand, he was always meant to be with Jenny. I should have supported them way earlier, but I got blinded when he got involved with Serena. I just wanted the best for my best friend and Jenny was my sort of enemy at that time. Anyways, they are finally the item that they always should have been and you…", Blair pointed with her index finger towards Sage while walking closer. "…you, my dear, you better leave their lives for good."

"You really think I'm keen on staying after the man I love told me right in the face that he hates me? That he only used me for fun?", tears started running down her face again.

"I might have been pathetic when I thought that coming back into his life would change things, that we could start over again. But I'm clearly not that pathetic to stay after everything he just said. The message was received, loud and clear", she said just above a whisper.

Blair looked at her again. The self-confident girl that she always used to be was totally gone, left was only a heart broken teenage girl that just lost her first love. Blair sighed.

"You're young, you'll find your fit. You just need to let go of Nate. Don't idolize him or compare others with him. For god's sake, Sage! You're nineteen, it's not the end of the world, even if it might feel like it", she tried to sooth and support the wrecked girl in front of her.

"Before I let you go pack your stuff up, there is still one matter left which we couldn't finish discussing due to Nate's interruption. So I'll ask one more time and you'd better tell me the truth, did you meet Jasper and got a copy of the video? Did you bring the DVD to Jenny's and Nate's house?", she questioned, changing the topic to her major interest.

Sage gazed down on the floor. "What does it matter anymore? Nate made it pretty clear that there is no way back for us", she responded saddened.

"It matters to me. My best friend is in hospital. She is expecting a baby, and her current state is not the best. The last thing she needs now is more trouble. So tell me, were you behind that?", Blair replied with hatred voice, making clear that she wouldn't drop this subject.

"Yes, it was me. I thought, I could scare her off. I wanted to blackmail her, not for money though. I had planned to send another letter later, let her know to dumb Nate if she doesn't want the video to go public", Sage admitted with a small voice.

Blair scoffed. "And you thought that would work? That Nate would what?… run back into your open arms. Love only you forever and ever. How stupid and childish. But whatever… how did you get that copy?"

"From Jasper. I was in London a few months back, business trip with dad. He went for meetings, I for shopping and clubbing. I met him at a pub, recognized him from the papers back then. We talked, realized that we were both not over them and decided to make a move together to get the one we want", Sage shrugged as it was the most normal thing that two exes plot together to get back the ones they love.

"Excuse me? Jasper wants Jenny back? How dumb is that guy? After everything he did to her, he really thinks he still has a chance?", Blair asked surprised, not believing that this British idiot really thought he still had a shot with Jenny.

"True, he is the most dumbest person I've come across with. I'm not sure if he really loves Jenny, but sure her status and money from being a designer. It didn't go unnoticed to him that she succeeded in a huge way. I don't know… he gave me a copy, so I could make that DVD and bring it over. We stayed in contact. I mailed him after I brought it over, but since then I didn't contact him again. Honestly, he creeps me out. That guy is weird. I was only once at his place. He wouldn't let me in, but when he went to get me the USB stick, I was able to look through the small door slit. Seriously Blair, his room is plastered with pics and reports about Jenny. It really gave me the chills", Sage reported to her, her voice even and constant, but mostly – honest.

Blair contemplated those news and looked intently at the young girl. "So, what exactly did you plan? I mean there must be more than this DVD thing, or?"

Sage shook her head. "Actually, no. I thought that Jenny would be to scared of seeing the video being released that she would cave. I know how much her career means to her, so I really thought that would do."

Blair didn't believe her right away. It was the most dumbest plan she ever heard of. "There must be more to it. What's in for Jasper?"

"There isn't, Blair. It's the truth. We just wanted to break them of, so I could get back with Nate and Jasper would try to get back with Jenny. Nothing else."

Blair gazed her once again over. The tears were gone for a longer while now. The mascara had flown down, it was spread over her cheeks now too. Her eyes had still a shiny shimmer and were red, puffy.

"Well, I hope so", she remarked cold, unfazed. "You will bring me that USB stick, and you will delete every copy you made. If I find out that you still hold on to one, I personally destroy you. No word to Jasper that I know about your arrangement. I will handle him. And now, feel free to pack up your stuff and leave the Spectator and Nate's and Jenny's lives for good. If you're smart, you might even consider to transfer from Columbia to somewhere else. Running in to you is not exactly what we would like to do", Blair made her point clear.

Sage's eyes widened. "What? New York is my home!", she called out.

"So? There are also other nice cities that offer good universities and knowledge. And after all, it was also Jenny's home but she knew it was better to leave for her own safety when we had our collision. You know what to do. Now, leave!"

With that Blair dismissed Sage and waited for the young girl to leave Nate's office room, so she could close the door behind them.

Nate was back home, but instead of sleeping, which was a lost cause at this time, he only jumped under the shower and went for some fresh clothes. While he stood in their closet contemplating what to wear, he gazed over at Jenny's clothes. Remembering all those mornings they had made love and got dressed afterward together, to get ready for their daily businesses.

As much as he was relieved that she was doing good, whatever that meant at the moment, it haunted him that he couldn't prevent all this pain that she had to go through. He was supposed to care for her, to protect her. After grabbing some pair of jeans and a sweater he marched out of their room to get back as fast as possible to the hospital. He wouldn't find rest here, without her by his side.

He stopped shortly at the door opposite of their room and opened it to gaze in. Jenny didn't know it yet, but he had started to transfer the guest room into the baby bedroom. Now he would need some more changings as there would be two little sweethearts staying with them. We're getting twins. I can't believe this. A boy and a girl. This is all so crazy. I can't wait to bring my sweets back home. We'll get through this, and they'll all be alright.

With those thoughts he dashed out their house and drove straight back to the hospital. He was greeted by Dan and Serena sitting at Jenny's side, just as they had promised. Rufus had returned too, with the clothes he had gathered for Jenny.

"You are supposed to sleep, Nate. Why are you already here again?", Serena asked, her voice more concerned than angered.

"I can't sleep right now, not when she hasn't been awake yet", he explained shortly and sat down next to Jenny's bed, reaching for her hand to hold her.

Rufus smiled weakly and patted him on the shoulder. "She'll be alright. She has always been a fighter. I'll see if I can get one of the nurses to bring a second bed in here, so you can sleep here a little. Cause matter of fact, you need to rest before you pass out due to exhaustion", Rufus said gentle to his future son in law.

Nate had become a second son to him over the past two years. From the day they had gotten together, he had known that Jenny was in good hands.

Nate looked up and smiled back. "Thanks Rufus."

They were sitting for an hour in silence, just reading or looking on the wall, out the window or on the floor. Nate was about to drift off, when a sudden movement close to his hand made him come to life again. He gazed up and saw that Jenny was stirring, she finally woke up. He was relieved to see her wake up. Her eyelids started to flutter and after a few seconds she opened them totally.

"Jenny? Hey babe, how do you feel?", Nate asked silently.

Her eyes focused and she gazed at him, as he had gotten up to hover over her. She smiled weakly and coughed a little.

"Like I was hit by a train. What happened?", she questioned curiously, only remembering that she was bleeding and in pain. "Oh my god, the baby! Is everything alright?", she nearly screamed and tried to get up.

Nate pushed her gently down on the bed again. He smiled at her. "Everything is alright. You need to rest, darling. They had to bring you into surgery, but you as well as our babies are fine", he informed her, eying her closely to see her reaction.

Jenny let out a breath, she didn't recognize that she was holding. She inhaled deeply while relaxing into the cushion. Silent tears started to escape her eyes and make their way down her still quite pale face.

"Thank god, he is alright. I wouldn't know what…", she started and broke off into sobs.

Nate hugged her lightly and kissed her forehead. "You are all doing good. All three of you", he reassured her.

Jenny gazed at him questionably. "All three of us? What are you talking about? Did someone got into an accident? Are Dan and dad alright?", fear joining her voice.

Nate internally hit himself for scaring her. "No! They are all fine. See, right there", he pointed towards Dan and Rufus, who both stood at the other side of her bed, smiling that she was finally awake. Jenny hadn't even noticed them until now.

"I'm talking about our daughter, darling. We're getting two babies", he replied softly, and looked lovingly into her beautiful blue eyes.

Jenny returned her gaze to him, eyes widened. "What?"

Nate chuckled slightly. "We are getting a boy and a girl", he explained her once more.

"But how…?", Jenny questioned and was cut off by the door opening.

Doctor Meyers walked in, followed by a nurse. "Ah, lovely to see you awake, Jennifer. I'm Dr. Meyers. I was in duty when Nathaniel brought you in last night. You gave us quite the shock, young lady", he said with a friendly smile. "How do you feel?"

"Uhm, like a train hit me", she repeated her previous statement.

Doctor Meyers snickered a bit. "Well, that might stay a while. But let me tell you that the surgery went well. We were able to stop the bleeding and save both babies. And from that look on your face, you need more information", he said while grabbing one of the roll chairs near the window. He sat down next to her and gazed in the round.

"It's okay, they are all family", Jenny announced and begged him to go on.

He nodded shortly and cleared his throat. "Well, it is not unusual that double pregnancies happen. I guess, that's common knowledge. In your case, it is a little different. They are not monozygotic twins, not identical. They are dizygotic, fraternal twins. In those cases we have two egg cells within one cycle, but they both got fertilized. Therefore it can also happen that they don't have the same gender, like in your case", he explained to them.

"Also it doesn't have to happen during the same sex act. Sperms can live up to four, five days. It already occurred that women got twins, but from two different fathers. Anyhow, we can't say for sure if both eggs got fertilized during the same act. What we can say is, that one egg was obviously still in the tube, or at the end of it, during the impregnation. Which is also not unusual, but for whatever reason it didn't move further into the uterus. The fetus started developing nevertheless. Normally, within the uterus, it wouldn't cause problems when two fetus grow. But in your case, your baby girl was half in the tube. For some reason the egg remained there. And with the growing fetus…"

"…it caused problems, which led to the bleeding", Jenny finished for him.

"Yes. But we were able to stop the bleeding and change the position of the baby into the uterus. Due to the first position, your tube sort of exploded which caused the bleeding. We weren't able to restore it, we're truly sorry. But this doesn't mean that you won't be able to have further children. The second tube is still intact and active", he reassured her with a comforting smile.

Nate had sit down next to Jenny and held her in his arms. He had listened to everything in silence. "So, what does it mean now? She will be able to get pregnant again and the current pregnancy is all fine? I mean, the babies are doing good now?", he questioned, still concerned that something could go wrong.

Dr. Meyers smiled at both of them. "Mostly, yes. You will be able to have more children. As for the current pregnancy, we have to be careful. Both fetus are in the uterus now. They can develop there further. But the girl, for some reason, hasn't as much developed as the boy. We have to watch her. We have to put you on rest, Jenny. I already told Nate that we haven't witnessed such a case before. We want to make sure that both babies will be born healthy, therefore we'd like to monitor them. Which means, we would monitor you. Leading to that we would like to keep you here, just for safety reasons."

Jenny nodded immediately. "Whatever you have to do, do it. All I want is for them to be born healthy and well. I'll do whatever it takes", she replied, and gazed at Nate who in return kissed her reassuringly.

"Okay then. I'll make sure that you get a nicer room than this wake-up room. We'll make sure as well that we have a couch or second bed for Nate, as I assume that you will be around a lot", Dr. Meyers responded friendly and winked at Nate.

"Good then. Let me know if you have further questions or when you need me. Just push that green button on the remote and Marylynn or Francis will come to get me or help you."

He stood up from his chair and gave Nate his hand, same with Dan and Rufus. "I'll see you soon. Try to sleep a little more. You need more rest to recover from the surgery. If you might feel some pain, call for Marylynn or Francis. They can give you some pain killers on herbal basis which won't harm the babies."

After he left the room Nate turned to Jenny and kissed her once more. "It will all be alright", he said once more.

Jenny nodded and started to cry. "We're getting two. How are we going to handle two?", she asked disbelieving.

The thought of one baby hadn't scared her at all, but two was a different number. She had said straight from the beginning that she doesn't want any nanny to take care of her child. They would be able to raise him without any help. But now?

"We'll do just fine, Jenny. We have us, our families and friends. We might have to cut back work, but that won't be a problem, babe. Gladly we both have bad ass assistants, who both know how to do their jobs. We'll manage this, promise", Nate replied reassuringly.

Dan sat down on the chair Dr. Meyers had recently occupied. "Right, I'll be a bad ass uncle. Remember, I once had a baby myself, and I didn't do that bad then. And gladly I'm a writer, I can work from home, which means I can even work from your home if you need someone to help. Jenny, you're not alone. You both have all of us to help you", he said to his sister and kissed the palm of her hand.

Serena walked up behind him, and hugged him while gazing at Jenny and nodding in agreement. "I can't wait to spoil them. A little mini-Nate and mini-Jenny. That will be so great!", she squealed in excitement.

"Uhm, uhm", Rufus cleared his throat, "if anyone is going to spoil those two, it's me!" They all started to laugh. "But seriously, Jenny", Rufus said when his laughter died down, "don't worry about that right now. Just concentrate on healing and becoming a mother. Everything else, we'll sort out when they are there."

"Jenny and the babies are doing fine", Chuck informed Blair when he walked in to their living room. She was sitting on the couch, reading something on her tablet.

She looked up, confused. "Babies?"

Chuck snickered lightly. "Yeah, babies, as in two. May remember what the doctor said, they are getting a boy and a girl. You were there when he told Nate", Chuck replied teasingly.

"Oh yeah, right", she responded absentminded.

Chuck gazed her over, something was off. He just couldn't tell what. "Alright woman, what's keeping your thoughts of our best friends problems? I know there is something going on, mind to fill me in."

Blair looked up at him, her mouth twitching a little. "Sage confirmed that it was her with the DVD. She got the copy from Jasper. This is the USB stick he gave her. She promised that she doesn't have any copies left", she informed her husband, who now had sat down next to her, his arm laying on the back rest.

He nodded in understanding. "Well, those are good news, somehow. So what's still bothering you?", seeing that she wasn't happy at all.

"I don't know", Blair said honestly, "it seems to easy. Nate called her off earlier. She was broken. Not that I'm sorry for her, she deserved it. But she gave in so fast. I can't believe that she stops fighting for him." Blair gazed down on her tablet again, as if by watching it the answers to her questions would just pop up.

"Maybe she won't. Or maybe she realized that it's futile because Nate loves Jenny. I guess all we can do is to wait and see", Chuck responded.

Blair's head shot round, her eyes wide. "Wait and see? Oh no, no, no! I never waited until someone decided to make a move. It's always about being one move ahead of them. We can't just wait and I won't. I made clear that she should leave New York, and she better do so", she stated matter of fact.

Before Chuck could respond his phone started to ring. He picked it up and listened to the caller. "What?!", he yelled out. "When did that happen?"

He listened again and rubbed his temple. "Ok, thank you for calling. Get me the exact arrival time and I'll take care of it myself", he ordered the caller and finished the call, gazing straight at his wife.

Blair looked at him questionably, wondering what this call was about and why it upset him this much.

"It seems you're right, we should be one move ahead. Our dear friend from Britain decided to give New York a visit. How about we go to greet him at the airport?", he informed her while asking at the same time if she is up for a ride.

Blair gazed at him dumbfounded. "Jasper is on his way here?"

"The very same. And we really should give him a proper welcome, don't you think?"

Blair nodded and got straight up. "Hell yes, we should make sure that this is the last place on earth that he wants to visit in future", she replied and started to leave the room to gather her belongings and tell Dorota they would leave for a while.

Jasper grabbed his luggage from the baggage claim and walked towards the exit. He was surprised to see a driver with a sign and his name on it. How would Sage know he was coming? Well, she came from money too, so probably she also had her ways to know. He walked up to the man standing in front of the black limo.

"Mr. Montgomery? Nice to meet you. I'll drive you into the city", he informed the young British man and opened the door of the car for him to climb in.

Jasper only nodded and smiled back at him, entering the car in one fluid motion. Before he could realize what was going on, the door was closed behind him and locked. He gazed ahead at the two people already sitting in the car, it wasn't Sage.

"Chuck, Blair. Now that's quite a surprise", he greeted them, not even lying. Neither one of them smiled in return.

"We could say the same. Guess how surprised we were, when we heard you are coming to town. We thought it would be nice to welcome you and catch up a little. After all, it's been over two years since we saw us last. Any specific reason you came here?", Blair replied nonchalant.

Jasper only looked at them, horrified by the sudden knowledge that they obviously kept taps on him. "I didn't know that I'm not allowed to go on holidays to New York. And since when do you keep taps on me? Isn't this illegal?", he tried to focus more on their actions as on his.

Chuck chuckled slightly. "Doubt it. I'm pretty sure it's way more illegal to film a sex act without the knowledge of your partner", he stated matter of fact, causing Jasper to cringe a little.

"You already made your point two years ago, when you guys made sure that I wouldn't find any suitable job in London or elsewhere in the field", he spat with anger in his voice.

Blair only smiled wickedly at him. "Can you blame us after the stunt you tried to pull with our best friend? You tried to blackmail her into marriage!", she backfired at him.

Jasper laughed out tauntingly. "You're kidding, right? When she came back to New York, you weren't even close to being friends. Matter of fact, you were the reason she had to leave New York in the first place. It's quite pathetic that you now act like you've been all those years best friends", he replied accusingly.

Blair snorted and rolled her eyes. "That's ancient history. Jenny is our best friend. She always was family to us. So hurting her, or attacking her, means dealing with us. Anyhow… it came to our knowledge that she received a DVD lately, with a certain content. You know anything about that?", she changed the topic back to the main reason they were sitting together.

"Why should I know what DVDs Jenny orders? It's your friend who's living with her now, not me", he responded defensively.

Chuck leaned forward, gazing dead cold straight at him, causing Jasper to shudder slightly. "I'm pretty sure you know that the content of that DVD is not buyable, unless you made it. And it would be smarter if that never happens, cause it wouldn't do you any good. Now, care to explain us how the screen shots ended up on that DVD when you're the only one who has that video? And you'd better give us a damn good explanation."

Jasper swallowed and gazed out of the window, only to realize that they were standing on a park deck close by the airport. Obviously they wouldn't let him enter the city. "I don't know what you're talking about", he tried to play dumb and clueless.

Blair snorted again. "Like hell you do. You're not here on vacations. It can't be a coincidence that Jenny receives a DVD with screen shots of your video and a few days later you show up here as well. What did you plan on doing? Blackmail her again?", she asked angrily.

"I really don't know what you're talking of. I didn't send any DVD to her. In fact, since I left New York I hadn't had any contact with her", he nearly burst out, not liking where this conversation was going to.

"Cut the crab, Montgomery", Chuck chimed in, "just because you didn't talk to her, doesn't mean that you didn't try to contact her with that DVD. You're the only person who has that video. Although I remember that I made it pretty clear for you to delete it. Looks like someone didn't listen. Now spill it, we have somewhere else to be and I don't like to waste my time."

"Oh, some stupid society event to attend? Don't hold back on my behalf", he mocked the power couple.

Blair's eyes narrowed, she glared at him. "Actually, we have to be at the hospital, supporting Jenny as good as we can", she spat out.

Jasper gazed at her in surprise. This was quite the news to him. Jenny in hospital? "What happened? Is she okay?", he asked concerned. They may have parted on very difficult terms, but he still cared about her.

"None of your business, but she will be fine. So, if you didn't send that DVD, who did?", Blair got back to the main question, although they knew the answer.

Jasper shifted uncomfortable. He'd rather wanted to know why Jenny was in the hospital then talk about Sage's stupid plan. He still didn't understand why he had agreed to it. Well, actually he knew. She was a girl that knew what she wanted and how to get it. And he, well he was just a guy who wouldn't say No to an easy number. The night had already been worth it. He knew he wouldn't get Jenny back, although it was worth the try.

"I didn't forward the video to anyone. I'd never do that to her", he replied calmly.

Chuck was with his patience at his end. This guy was a damn dick and he was sick of playing games with him. Especially as they were needed at another place way more urgently.

"You know what, let's cut this. We know you gave the video to Sage. She was too weak to stand her ground, especially after Nate dealt with her. Wasn't pretty at all. The girl is so disturbed and broken, that she even decided to transfer schools", Chuck lied, although he hoped that she would do so.

Jasper was astonished to hear that. He had taken Sage for a fighter. But knowing who she had stood against, he wasn't surprised by the outcome. So it would end here and now, his deal with her was apparently no longer existing.

"Fine, then we shall end it here", he responded and grabbed inside his jacket to pull out an USB stick. "This is the only device I have left where the video is on, I promise. Sage promised me money. I guess it's quite evident that my job isn't paying that well. You can have it, for two hundred thousand dollars. That's what Sage wanted to pay me."

Blair looked at him disgusted. Somehow she had known, he would go for money. "First of all, Sage already has the video. Why would she pay you? And second, what makes you think that we trust you? You didn't delete it the first time we told you too", she pointed out.

"Sage only has the beginning of the video. Not the entire video, and trust me, the beginning is nothing. The last forty minutes you don't want to see go public. And I guess, you will have to trust me. Look, I don't want to hurt Jenny. Really, I never meant to. I loved her, still do, somehow. Believe it or not. I care about her. I was stupid to cheat on her, and when I realized what I lost… I kinda freaked. I knew she wouldn't forgive me, so I started to blackmail her. Trust me, I know that was wrong, but I wanted her back so badly. And yes, also the money was very attractive. I knew to which family she belonged and that she would make money herself soon. Letting her slip away wasn't an option. Anyway… you'll get the stick and I get the money to build up a new life for me. I promise, this is the only device with it on."

Chuck and Blair gazed at each other, not sure if they believed one single word of him. But Chuck made up his mind. He reached for his check book and opened it, scribbled on the check and ripped it out to hand it over to Jasper. He took the check and gave Chuck the stick in return.

"Pleasure to make business with you", he said smiling smugly.

Chuck narrowed his eyes. "Don't be too sure about yourself. If I find out that this is only a copy, Nate and I'll hunt you down and end your existence wherever you'll be. And I'm not talking about killing you, I'm talking about taking away everything you owe, everyone you love and care about by turning them against you. Leaving you with nothing and no one. And trust me, we are capable of that", Chuck threatened him coldly. "Now, feel free to leave this car and this city as well as our lives for good."

The door opened and Jasper stepped out, being brought back to the departure section of the airport.

Blair gazed at Chuck. "I can't believe you paid that bastard off", she said frustrated over the outcome, not in the slightest happy about that he got what he wanted.

Chuck only smiled at his wife in mischief. "Who said I did."

Well, the Jasper part hasn't come out as good as I wanted, but I couldn't bring on anything better (somehow the mind was blank when I started to think about). Hope you did like it anyways...
