Time to meet two new Upper East Siders :)

Jenny was lying in her hospital bed, reading the latest Vogue. She was back for three weeks now. After her emergency surgery, were they had found out about her baby girl, she had stayed for entire four weeks at the hospital. After dozens of checkups they had finally released her to go home, with the promise that she would take it slow and be careful. Nate had made sure of that. The more her belly had grown, the less she was allowed to do. He even ended up carrying her to the bathroom, although it were only ten steps. Somehow it drove her crazy, but mostly she loved how caring and excited he was. A few days after she had come home, he had shown her the baby room, causing Jenny to break out in tears. So now she was back and had only a few days left until her sweets shall arrive. Out of safety reasons they wanted to monitor her again.

The door opened up and a very bright smiling Serena walked in. "Hey there, how is our big momma holding up today?", she squealed in delight.

Jenny sent her a glare. "I promise, call me that one more time and Dan will be single again", she groaned. Serena laughed out and pulled Jenny in a slight, but lovingly, hug.

"Ah, you know that I was just kidding. But… damn you've grown", Serena replied and gazed over Jenny's huge stomach. They hadn't seen each other for two weeks, as Dan had surprised her with a short vacation. "So, how are you holding up?"

Jenny sighed and rolled her eyes. "Bored is an understatement. I'm not allowed to do anything, except to lay here and breathe. GOD, I can't wait until they finally pop out and I can see my feet again, not to think of walking around. As much as I love how caring Nate can be, to carry me around the house was a bit much", she said lightly complaining over her current situation.

Serena giggled and patted her shoulder in sympathy. "Just a few days to go and you're done. Although, you might wish then that they still would be in there", she mused.

Jenny arched an eyebrow. "Why shall I wish for that? I can't wait to finally hold them."

"Well, first there is the pain during the birth and then a lot of sleepless nights", Serena pointed out.

Jenny smiled at her. "I'm willing to take that. As mom and dad keep saying, the second you hold them, you forget about all the pain and discomfort you went through before. Anyhow… how was your trip?"

Serena lit up in an instant, and her eyes started to sparkle. "Amazing! He did it!", she nearly screamed out. Jenny looked at her in confusion at first until it finally dawned her. She broke into a huge grin.

"Geez, that was about damn time. So that's why he took you on that trip. Quite Nate style… oh wait, he probably even knew", Jenny let out, remembering that Nate had been a little cryptic when he told her about their trip. "He was a little weird and wouldn't tell me where you went, said he doesn't know. You didn't go to Norway, or?"

Serena laughed out loud and shook her head in denial. She knew that Nate had bought the house in Norway not even two weeks after they had returned engaged.

"No, no worries. Dan wouldn't go there in a million years, knowing all too well what you guys did in those rooms", she responded amused.

Jenny gazed at her in astonishment. "Still? Man, in that case you should never visit us at home again. He definitely doesn't want to know what we all did there", she snickered bemused, her eyes filled with joy.

Serena chuckled delighted, and sat down next to her bed. "Well, in that case you shouldn't come to our place either", she joined in.

Jenny scrunched her nose, but still smiled. "Ok, enough of that. I get pictures in my head that I don't want there. Tell my about your trip and the proposal, no dirty details please", she replied.

The elder blonde grinned over her entire face. "He took me to the virgin islands. Ah, it was so beautiful. We had a little house, directly at the beach. Long walks along it, night swimming,… it was just perfect", Serena told her, remembering every single second.

Jenny could see all the memories flash over her face, lightening it even more up. She smiled at that, thinking back of their week in Norway. She probably look the same way, when they had gotten back in to town.

"So night swimming, I guess more skinny dipping, he?", she questioned with a smirk.

Serena blushed in an instant. "Well, sort of… but hey, you said no dirty details… so don't ask or assume anything", she slapped her arm lightly and laughed.

"True, sorry. It's just, I know you two too well. And…", she dragged the word out, "…I'm bored as hell. I need to live through you now, at least unless I can leave this place. Nate is trying is best to keep me busy, but he has work to attend to. I literally had to punch him out today."

Serena smiled and grabbed the Vogue from her. "He cares massively about you. And about your two little sweets. So, what do you want to know about the proposal?"

"Everything, except for the sex part that surely followed after the YES of yours", Jenny replied bluntly and wiggled her eyebrows. "That would be to gross. After all, he's my brother."

"Never held Chuck back to get to know details about my sex life in earlier times", Serena mentioned her step-brothers earlier attitude, causing Jenny to shudder.

"Ooh, please, don't remind me of his old self. Thankfully Blair changed him for the better", she stated and Serena nodded in agreement.

"Yes, she did. Well, let me see where to start now… oh yeah, the night of the proposal Dan had arranged this amazing dinner. We had a little terrace outside our house, and he had set up an open fire and some torches. Orchids and roses plastered all over the place. Jenny, you should have seen it, it was so romantic. With the open water in the background, the dark sky with stars and the full moon…", she sighed, remembering how perfect their night had been.

"He had placed a few huge cushions on the floor, and on a small table were all kind of fruits. We had some fresh fish, and afterward chicken. Anyway, when we had finished the dessert Dan walked back in to grab some wine, but he was so weird when he came back."

Jenny giggled slightly, knowing her brother's nervousness always came to full force when it came to Serena. "He can get weirder than he already is? Damn, that's creepy", Jenny mocked her absent brother.

"He's not weird, just unique", Serena corrected her, a little bemused as Dan could be quite weird on occasions. "He was all the sudden so jumpy and nervous. Nearly spilled the entire wine when he handed me my glass. But somehow he managed to find his courage and ask me anyhow… he placed the bowl with fruits in my direction and told me to grab one of the grapes as they were so good. As I wanted to, I grabbed a little black box instead, inside the most stunning ring ever", she said and then lifted her left hand to wiggle her finger in front of Jenny's eyes.

A golden ring glistering in the little sun light that came through to her bedroom window. In fact it were three twisted rings with a bright diamond on top. It looked unique and very special.

"It's a beautiful ring, Serena. Just as beautiful as the ring owner. So what did he say?", Jenny complimented her soon to be sister-in-law, desperate to find out about her brothers approach.

"Thanks Jenny. Well, you know your brother. He had another poem written for me and after he told it, he said that he couldn't imagine life without me anymore. And then he popped the question", she smiled like the Cheshire cat.

"Congrats Serena. I'm so happy for you two. I would say welcome to the family, but we've been family before, so I guess welcome back fits more now", Jenny teased her a little. Both girls ended up laughing due to their very weird and strange family history.

"Good to know that you can laugh when I'm gone", Nate said and walked over to his pregnant fiance, kissing her on the lips while stroking her belly.

"Well you know Nate, at some certain point we have to make jokes about you", Serena mocked him with a huge smile.

He gazed at her bemused and just waved it off. "Good then that you never heard what we said about you in your absence", he teased her back. "Which reminds me, how was your trip?"

She smiled even wider. "Perfect. Ever thought of a double wedding?", she asked in return.

Nate looked confused at her, than at Jenny who was also smiling like crazy. "Wait, he proposed?", he questioned, now gazing at Serena again.

"As you didn't know", Jenny said and slapped him lightly, "I can't believe you didn't tell me."

"What? I didn't know, I swear. Dan only asked me to help book all the travel stuff, so Serena wouldn't notice. He wanted to surprise her", Nate defended himself.

"So you knew where they were going to! And you told me, you don't know", Jenny replied with fake acid.

He smiled at her and kissed her again. "But only the destination. I had no clue about the proposal, although it crossed my mind. Considering how long you two are dating and that we're getting a family now. He said one night something about that he'd like to have that too one day. Guess now is one day. Congratulations Serena! I'm so happy for you", he said and walked over to pull his long life friend into a hug.

"Thanks Nate. I still can't believe that we're engaged. It's so crazy", she replied happily.

Jenny giggled. "Tell me about it. Took me five days to realize it, and a zillion looks on the ring. If I wouldn't lay here knocked up, I probably still wouldn't believe it", she responded.

Nate sat down on the bedside next to her and pulled her into his side, kissing her forehead. "Believe it, darling. As soon as those two are there, you'll become officially Mrs. Nathaniel Archibald. There is no chance in hell, I'll let you get away again", he told her determined.

"Good, cause I'm not planning on going anywhere", she answered him softly while kissing him after every word, "oh, but no double wedding. As much as I love Dan and you, I want our own day. It would be weird to celebrate our wedding day with yours."

Serena laughed about her comment, nodding in understanding. "Don't worry, it was just a joke. A wedding is all about the bride, and I'm very selfish here. I want my day too!"

"Hey, and what about the grooms?", Nate asked offended, "it's also our day." Both women just looked at each other and burst out laughing.

Blair walked in, seeing her husband lying on the floor playing with Henry. The young boy was sitting on his father's stomach, jumping up and down while giggling like crazy. Chuck was laughing with him, holding him on his sides and tickling in between. She stayed in the door frame and watched her two men amused, enjoying the view of their light and joyful bickering. Surely Bart had never done this with Chuck. He had promised himself that he would be a better father, and since Henry was born he made sure of this. He was still a business man, running an empire but his son and wife always came first.

"You look like you're having fun", she stated from her spot in the door causing Chuck to gaze over to her.

"Mommy!", Henry yelled out and got up from his father, running towards his mother.

She pulled him into a tight hug. "Hey, my big boy. Were you riding on daddy?", she questioned still bemused.

He smiled widely and nodded. "Good boy, but don't break him", she said softly.

Henry broke out into laughter. "Mommy, daddy can't break. Were you at uncle Nate's?"

She grinned down at him. "No, sweetie. I come from work and your uncle Nate is probably with aunt Jenny now. They are waiting for their babies to come. Hey, I am planning a baby party for them. You want to help me?"

He nodded in excitement. "Okay, I only need to talk to your dad shortly and then we'll start. Go up to your room and I come up", she caressed his face softly and he ran out and up the stairs.

Chuck had watched them the entire time. He still laid on the floor, propped on his elbows. "You know, our son is right. I can't break and I wouldn't mind if you would ride me in the near future", he said in a low seductive voice. A voice Blair knew all too well, a voice that got them to receive their little whirl wind.

"Depends if you were a good boy", she teased him.

He sighed and fell back to the floor. "Damn, I'm doomed!"

She laughed out and sat on the couch next to him, gazing down to him. "I got good news."

He arched an eyebrow. "Really? Jenny is in labor and the babies are coming? Hope Nate is not freaking out. It was quite scary to get one, but two…", he trailed of.

She laughed lightly, slapping his arm. "It was our son. And I was the one in pain, and no, Jenny is not in labor. At least not yet. I was talking of Sage. It's confirmed that she transferred to the Sorbonne university. She is out of New York, well at least for now. But I believe she is smart enough to not come back", Blair informed him about the news she had gotten.

He nodded and closed his eyes firmly. "Those are indeed good news. She finally learned her lesson, or she finally understood Nate's words. Stuart also called me today", he responded with still closed eyes.

"Really? What did he want?", she asked curiously, wondering why his lawyer for European matters had called him up.

"Just a short heads up. Jasper has backed down, not happy, but he realized that it doesn't make sense to fight or sue me any longer. Especially as he has no proof that we had an arrangement or any kind of contract."

Blair understood. She had been surprised when Chuck wrote out the check to the young British man, after he made it clear that they would only get Jenny's sex video when he gets money. She had been disappointed at first, but after Jasper had left their car to fly back home, Chuck had explained her that he wouldn't get a single cent. The check was useless as he had signed it with Bart's name. The young man was so wild on getting the money, that he didn't check the details on the check at all. He had tried to hand it in to his bank, only to realize that it was in fact totally useless. It caused him to call Chuck up and scream at him in anger, which made Chuck realize that he indeed had given him the only and last copy of the video. If he still had a hold on one, he could have sold it to the media in no time, ruining Jenny's career for good. It had been a huge risk that Chuck had taken, but it worked out well in the end. The video was now totally destroyed and Jenny was save. Sage was out of town, just as well as Jasper, who had used his last money to fight Chuck. Only to realize that there was no use in it.

"Well, seems that he has at least one brain cell left. I really hope we never get to hear that name again. Glad we can close this chapter for good now. I'll head up and let our son help me to pack the first gifts for Jenny. Could you call Dan to check if the party still stands at his place? He wasn't sure if he would be in town due to some book reading tour", she replied and kissed his forehead before standing up straight to leave the room.

"Sure will. I'll join you in a bit", he answered her and heaved himself up to grab the phone, dialing a familiar number.

"Hello?"

"Hey Dan. My beautiful better half asked me to give you a call. The baby shower is still at your place?"

"Hey man. Yeah, it's on and settled. I was able to reschedule the tour for a few weeks. Tell Blair it's all alright. Serena already called the caterer and ordered everything. They only need to meet up for over talking the guest list. I would suggest to keep it small. I don't think that Jenny will be up for a huge party after giving birth to two babies", he mused, thinking that the last weeks must have been hard for his sister.

"Sure, I'll let her know. You've been to the hospital today? How is she holding up?", Chuck asked.

"Nah, not today. Serena just went. We just got back from our holidays and I had a few calls to make. My editor was waiting. I'll head down soon. Want me to pass something on?"

"No, I guess we'll go later ourselves. How was your trip?"

"Way more than perfect", Dan said with a huge smile on his face. "Can I tell you something, without you passing it to Blair? Serena would kill me."

"Uhm, sure", Chuck frowned, wondering what this was.

"We're engaged", Dan replied excited, "I asked her to marry me, and Serena said yes."

Chuck smiled widely. "Congratulations Humphrey. I'm really happy for both of you", he responded genuine, and really meaning it. Over the past two years, he really had bonded with him. They had been sort of friends before, but the past two years had deepened it.

"Thanks man. I still can't believe it. We need to celebrate soon, but we let Jenny deliver first. She would kill us, if we would make her show up like a massive balloon", he chuckled over her current state. But in truth he was more than anxious to finally meet his niece and nephew.

"Don't let her hear that, she'll kill you for the comment. See you later there?"

"Yeah, sure. If not, how about dinner later?"

"Sounds good. We're free. Bye Dan."

"Bye Chuck."

Serena had left the hospital together with Blair, after the Basses had shown up to see how the expecting mother to be was doing. They were now back at Dan's, waiting for heading out to dinner with their better halves and the whirl wind. Both had sat down at bar stools on the kitchen counter. Serena gazed over to her best friend.

"So, there is something I need to tell you", she started. She had made sure that Blair hadn't seen her hand with the ring.

Blair looked over to her too, cocking an eyebrow in question. "Okay, shoot."

"You know we've always been close, and we certainly had our ups and downs, but nevertheless we always managed to remain friends. Although you mean way more to me than that. Anyhow… I would like you to be at my side on the most important day of my life", she told her friend and gazed at her expectantly.

Blair processed her words, and her eyes turned wide. "Did he finally…?", she started.

Serena grinned all over her face and nodded her hand. Holding her hand up for Blair to see the ring. "It's official. I'm going to be a Humphrey", she squealed out.

Blair pulled her in a tight embrace. Allowing her tears of joy to fall. "I'm so happy for you. See we told you it would happen", she replied playfully, "but wait, you're not getting married with Nate and Jenny together, or?"

Serena laughed out, shaking her head in denial. "No, I already promised Jenny. Actually we'd like to stay a while engaged before we get married. There is no need to rush things, you know."

"Well, that sounds like a plan. It would give you time to rethink your decision", Blair commented and took a sip of her water.

Serena rolled her eyes. "I don't need to rethink anything, B. I love Dan, and I want to share my life with him. He is the right one. The only reason why we take it slow, is that we want our own unique wedding. Look, Jenny and Nate had to go through a lot of crap lately, they deserve their happiness. They will get their sweet babies, and when she is back and full of energy they will marry. No reason for Dan and me to cross their plans, we have time", Serena explained.

"I only wanted to make sure that you made the right choice. And it's sweet that you take Jenny's state in consideration", she pointed out.

"If I hadn't been sure Blair, I wouldn't have said yes at all. He is the one. And as Jenny is going to be my sister in law, it's no question to me to take care of her and her well being. Especially with her current state", Serena made clear.

Blair nodded and gazed over to the door where Chuck and Dan had appeared with a full dressed Henry.

"We're ready to go. How about you, ladies?", Dan questioned.

"Coming!", Serena shouted back and turned to her friend, "we should discuss the baby shower during dinner. It probably won't take any longer until we have to members in the club."

"Yeah, unbelievable that Nate is becoming a father, and that Jenny is the mother. If you would have told me that at the beginning of our junior year, I would have called you insane", Blair pondered.

Serena laughed out. "True. And if you would have told me at that time that you would end up married with Chuck, I probably would have gotten a stroke", she replied playfully.

"It's definitely weird how things have turned out", she responded.

"But gladly it all turned out for the best."

Five days later

Nate was sitting next to Jenny. He was checking on his mails via his tablet while Jenny was reading a book that Dan had brought her. To her surprise it was about a young woman which had written about her life after becoming a mom, instead of one of this old novels he used to read. It was pretty interesting. She was about to turn the page when she felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen and back. She inhaled deep and breathed through, just how it was taught to her during Lamas class. She turned to Nate who had been oblivious to her state, still concentrated on the content of his mail account.

"Sweetie, could you please get the doctor", she begged him.

Nate immediately gazed up at her, his face alarmed. "Everything alright?"

"Yeah, except that it's time to get Doctor Meyers. I think our sweets want out", she said with a bright smile, her eyes twinkling. Nate returned her smile and leaned forward to kiss her.

"I'll be right back", he told her, and towards her stomach, "and you two wait until daddy is back." He kissed her stomach shortly and got up to head towards the door to find the next person in charge to help them.

Within one hour the maternity ward waiting room was filled to the brim with excited relatives and friends of the couple that was working so diligently somewhere behind the double doors that they disappeared behind quite some time before. Serena sat with her head on Dan's shoulder, half in and out of sleep. He attempted to focus on reading a book. Next to him was Rufus, who was trying to keep a nervous Allison on the stool, instead of pacing the floor in front of him. It also blocked his view of the hallway and anyone that might have tubes or fluids unnaturally traveling in or out of their body.

Across a coffee table from them, sat Chuck and Blair. Him reading a newspaper, looking rather unaffected, and Blair stroking the hair of a sleeping Henry. Behind Allison, at a table set up by some vending machines were Nate's parents. They had instructed his grandfather to stay home. While healing from his previous stroke, he still wasn't up to staying up all hours of the night. They promised to call him as soon as Jenny and Nate could have visitors.

Joanna came back in, causing everyone to look up at her. She was loaded down with drinks and sandwiches, which she had gotten at the cafeteria. They had been surviving for hours on the vending machine snacks, with many grumbles from both Anne and Blair.

Serena stood and rushed to help the other Jenny's assistant, as they moved to put the items down on the table in the rear portion of the room. They sorted through the food, and took some things for themselves.

Jenny was screaming as loudly as she could ever remember screaming. She actually wasn't one to raise her voice very often, but she couldn't help it. She'd been pushing for quite some time, and all the doctor kept telling her was she was making good progress. Currently, they were taking a break from pushing, and Nate was wiping off her forehead with a cool washcloth. She attempted to smile at him, but it came out just looking like weariness.

"Do me a favor, please", she pleaded.

"Anything", Nate assured her lovingly.

"Just look and see what's going on."

"Jenny", he protested.

"Nate! I can't deal with this. Just tell me if you can see anything, if this is close to being over anytime soon!"

"I really don't-", he trailed off.

"You've never had any problem with that area before. Now look!", she commanded, using all her strength.

Sighing, knowing she was tired and exhausted, he moved to where the doctor had been just before. He was over conversing with the nurse. Lifting up her gown, he took in the view. He was surprised to see it wasn't as bad as the videos they had been forced to watch in the Lamaze class. Some of those images had given him nightmares for days. But as much as he wanted to, he didn't see anything that wasn't normally there. Shaking his head, he came back up to her side.

"Nothing?"

"Well, no baby yet."

"No head?"

"No."

"Feet?"

"You really don't want any of those babies to be breech."

"I just want them to make an appearance already."

He nodded, wiping her forehead again as she chewed on some ice chips. Her mother had been right, they really served no purpose, but they were there so she figured she might as well crunch on some.

"Are we ready to start pushing again?", Doctor Meyers asked, coming back to his position at the foot of the table.

Jenny nodded, and Nate took a hold of her hand again, ready to have her bear down.

"How much longer do these things take?", Dan asked, leaning over to Rufus.

Rufus shrugged. "Depends."

"It's been a really long time."

"It was thirty six hours with you."

"You're kidding?", Dan asked incredulous.

"Nope."

"Wow. And you survived that", Dan mocked.

"Funny."

Allison sat at the table with the Archibalds. Picking at her sandwich, she kept glancing at the clock.

"You know, I never thought I'd rather be on the other end of this whole situation", Anne mused.

"Tell me about it", Allison agreed.

"Why is that?", Serena asked, thinking they must be crazy.

"It's much easier to give birth to a child than to know your kid is in this amount of pain", Allison explained.

"Oh, I hadn't thought of it like that."

"I'm sure they're doing fine", Howard added.

"It's just taking so long!"

"It's only been about 16 hours total", he said casual.

"Nate took 20 hours. I never thought that kid was going to show up. He was breech, too."

"Jenny took 19 hours. But it was so worth it, she was the most perfect thing I'd ever seen", Allison remembered.

"I see a head!", the doctor exclaimed, and as much as Jenny could already feel said head and wanted to smack the know-it-all upside his head, she still felt a wave of relief sweep over her. She looked up at Nate, who was intently watching the process unfold.

"How much longer?"

"Just a few more pushes, I promise."

"If you insist."

"Are you ready?"

"Yeah, yeah. I am", she talked herself into sitting back up, now supported by Nate on one side and a nurse on the other. She began to push and felt the most intense pain of the whole previous 17 hours.

"And there's a shoulder!"

"Just one?!", Jenny exclaimed, thinking that had to be both.

"Keep it going, we're almost there!", the doctor, now getting a little too peppy for her taste, continued.

"Nate!", she moaned, pulling his hand in closer.

"I'm right here."

"Can you see anything?"

"Yeah, I can see the head, you're doing great, I swear, you're almost done", he coaxed.

She nodded and sat back up again. More pain, and then relief.

"You did it! There is your wonderful baby boy", came the doctor's voice again, now sounding slightly less irritating. She began to remember why they picked the qualified physician as he held up the baby that had slid out after the second shoulder broke free.

"Now let's see if the girl follows straight away", he announced and went back to work after handing the boy over to one of the nurses. "Ah, looks good. His sister wants to follow. Now, same procedure, Jenny. Just one more time."

She started to press again. Screaming in pain and pressing Nate's hand as hard as she could. Never in her wildest dreams has she thought it would be this painful.

"Alright, the head is out. Take a short break and than one last strong push", Doctor Meyers said.

"You're doing it amazingly, darling", Nate told her and kissed her forehead after wiping it with the cold washcloth.

"Just for the record, for the next two years there won't be any sex for you", she replied through clenched teeth, "only if you get pregnant next."

Nate chuckled slightly. "Noticed. And you're still doing great."

"So, for the last time, Jenny."

She pressed once more with all her left power, which she felt wasn't much. Another scream escaped her throat and after what felt like a lifetime the pain subsided and she relaxed when hearing a baby cry.

"There is your beautiful baby girl!"

Nate kissed her forehead again, and wrapped an arm around her. She cried out in relief and joy, and held her arms out.

"Can I hold them?"

"Yeah, just let us clean them up", came the doctor's reply. Within seconds, the nurse was placing the babies, wrapped in a soft pink and blue blanket, in Jenny's and Nate's arms. They were enthralled with the small babies, wanting nothing more than to make this moment last forever.

"She's perfect," he breathed, leaning in so he was as close to his soon to be wife, their son and their daughter as he could be.

"Isn't she? And he as well."

"So, Mom, what are we naming the kids?", came the nurse's voice, with what looked like birth certificates in her hand.

Jenny tore her eyes from her daughter and her son, and fixed her gaze on Nate.

"Do you still like them?"

"They are perfect, it fits both of them", he nodded.

She informed the nurse of the name they had chosen for the boy and girl, and she scribbled them down, so they could get a crib ready for them in the nursery. Nate told Jenny that he better get down to the waiting room and tell people that it was over. She nodded, kissing him one more time before falling back against the pillows for a much-deserved rest.

Nate made his way out to the waiting room, slowly. His muscles ached, and he was starving. But he didn't care. He had a daughter and a son. And they were both healthy. He was in shock and marveled at how perfect they were at the same time. He could already tell that she had her mother's eyes and his ears. While he had her nose and his eyes. They had made two little perfect persons out of the pieces of themselves.

He walked into the waiting room only to find both of their families and their friends sitting and waiting nervously.

"Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you know that we just finished delivering our baby boy and girl. She's 6 pounds, 9 ounces, and she's perfect. While he is 7 pounds, 6 ounces. You can come see Jenny in twos, grandmothers first, of course."

"What are the names?", Allison squealed in delight, jumping up and down a little.

"She wants to tell you herself. Come on, ladies, follow me," he said, taking his mom's hand, and being half dragged by Allison. They reached the room where they had moved Jenny to rest in, the original room they had been in while she was in pre-labor. She had a small bundle in her arms and didn't even look up when the three appeared in the door. Another bundle laid in a crib next to her bed.

"Someone's already in love", Allison smiled at her daughter, causing her to finally look up.

"Mom, Anne, I would like you to meet Alyssa Jolynn and Tristan Samuel."

"That's so sweet!", Allison said, sitting on the edge of the bed. Anne hugged her weary son, and Allison brushed Jenny's hair back off her face.

"Can I hold her?", she barely whispered, in awe of her daughter and granddaughter, while Anne took Tristan from the crib.

Jenny nodded, handing off the newborn to her mother's waiting arms.

"Aw, she has that great baby smell. You had that smell. It's intoxicating", she said, leaning into the baby. Alyssa yawned and brought her hands up to her face. When she removed them, she opened her bright blue eyes and looked full into her grandmother's face for a moment before closing them again.

"Let's switch?", came Anne's voice, and reluctantly Allison handed her off. She turned to Jenny, who couldn't keep her eyes off of Alyssa.

Anne looked just as enthralled as Allison had. She smiled and made soft noises at Alyssa, before handing her over to Nate. He had thought that he fell in love with Jenny quickly, but this was faster than anything he had ever thought imaginable. He carried her over to Jenny, and sat down on the bed next to her. She was holding Tristan now.

Two by two, well-wishers came into meet little Alyssa and Tristan. They were pretty much asleep most of the time, but no one cared. They were joyful to finally meet the babies, and at long last, Chuck and Blair were summoned in. Blair squealed as Nate handed the baby girl to her, and she talked to Alyssa, (loving the name, she informed Jenny), before handing her over to Chuck and taking Tristan instead. He had become good with babies, ever since Henry had been born. He was immediately taken with both babies.

"The reason we called the two of you in here at last, was that we were hoping that you guys would consent to be her godparents. Dan and Serena are Tristan's," Jenny announced, watching Chuck hold her daughter.

"Really?", Blair asked, in awe, but obviously joyed.

"You're sure?", Chuck asked, handing the baby back to Nate.

"We're sure. You guys up for it?"

"Of course I'll do it", Blair agreed, hugging her best friend.

"I'd be honored", Chuck admitted, and patted Nate's shoulder.

XoXoXo

Later that night, after everyone had come and gone, even William, who was more than thrilled to hold his great-granddaughter and great-grandson, Jenny and Nate enjoyed some time alone in her room. Exhausted, they had been brought food, and were now trying to sleep. He lay in the bed with her, his arms around her.

"Are you asleep?"

"Nope", he admitted.

"I want to see them."

"Do you want to go down to the big window?"

Jenny nodded.

"We really should sleep", Nate pointed out.

"You're telling me you can just lay here and not go see them?"

"No, I was just saying, you worked really hard the last day."

"I just want to see them. Then we can sleep", Jenny promised.

He helped her into a wheelchair, and pushed her the short distance to the nursery. There, amongst a dozen or so other babies, lay their babies in a cribs labeled with 'Archibald, Alyssa Jolynn' and 'Archibald, Tristan Samuel'.

"They look so perfect."

"Indeed they do. Two little angels."

"Yeah, that's what they are," she smiled before she let out a long yawn.

"Okay, let's get back to bed. Sleep, while we still can."

She let him wheel her away from the big window, and back to the room. They crawled into bed again, and fell asleep squeezed into the other, just the two of them again. They slept well into the next day, until a nurse came in with Alyssa and Tristan.

Nate watched as the nurse gave Jenny a quick lesson in breast-feeding and left them to bond. Jenny just couldn't keep her eyes off of Tristan, while Nate held Alyssa until it was time to swap and let the girl get fed.

"Does it hurt?", he asked curious.

"Not much", she said, still watching her son. "How did you sleep?"

"I dreamed she was sixteen and some guy came to the house to pick her up."

"And did this boy survive the torture you put him through?"

"I don't know. We locked her up in the attic."

"We don't have an attic," she giggled, gazing over to him.

"I'll build one when I get home," he promised her.

And here they are - sweet Alyssa and Tristan Archibald. Just one more chapter to go. Sorry in advance if this will take a bit longer. We have a huge manager meeting at work, and I have to help during the organization. That really is a lot of work load. I hope, I'll find time to write in the evening hours before passing out ;)

Thanks again for all your support and lovely comments. It's always great to hear from you!
