Sorry about the wait and the rusty-ness of this, it's been awhile I know! But I definitely appreciate all of the reviews and I love that you guys enjoy this story as much as I do!
Sky was still drunk and crying as she stomped out of Four's room in nothing but his over-sized t-shirt and he was too stunned by her ultimatum to realize it. She stumbled around for a few minutes before she turned a corner and ran into Eric. "Sky! What are you doing out here?!" He asked as he steadied her.
She shrugged her shoulders and sniffed sadly, "I'm not good enough for Four, so I left. And now i'm lost!" And with that she burst out in more tears. "And I'm drunk! And alone!"
Eric pulled her into his arms and smoothed down her hair, "It's okay Princess, how about I get you back to my place and we can talk about it. How does that sound?"
Sky sniffled for a few moments before nodding in agreement as Eric kept his arm around her shoulders and led her back to his apartment. Once they arrived, she plopped right onto his bed as he went to get her a glass of water.
"I'm just gonna go take a quick shower okay? And then we can talk about everything."
She nodded numbly and drank her water. Sky had finally stopped crying by the time Eric walked out of the shower only wearing sweats, which happened to be barely hanging on by his hips. Sky couldn't help but gawk at his toned physique. "Why are all you Dauntless guys so damn hot?"
Eric smirked at her honesty, "Well thank you. I could say the same for you though Princess, all the guys here would kill to be with you."
She smiled sadly and shook her head, "Not if they really knew me."
That surprised Eric, he was used to pretty girls knowing exactly how pretty they were. But not Sky, she was gorgeous and for whatever reason she doesn't realize it. Someone must have really hurt her, he thought to himself. The thought of anyone hurting her made him shake with anger. He held her hand softly, "Why do you say that Sky?"
She shrugged her shoulders, something he noticed she does when she doesn't want to answer a question. He rubbed her leg and turned her to face him, "Talk to me beautiful. Why do you think people won't like you if they knew you? I know you, and I absolutely adore you."
She bit her lip, "You think you know me. Everybody thinks they know me. They know me as the pretty girl who is almost always upbeat, who can beat people up and cracks jokes left and right. You know that part of me because that's what I show. If you knew me deep down, you'd probably be disgusted with me."
Eric wiped away the silent tears that escaped her eyes, "Sky, there is nothing you could tell me that would make me even remotely disgusted by you."
She barked a harsh laugh, "If you only knew."
He whispered, "Then tell me."
She shook her head and looked at him, "Not tonight."
He nodded and laid her down for bed before getting a pillow to sleep on the ground.
"Eric?"
He looked up, she was biting her lip again. "Can you just hold me?"
He smiled and nodded, "Anything for you Princess."
That was the night that Eric realized he was in love with Sky. It was also the night he realized nothing would come out of his love for her, he knew her heart belonged to Four.
The next morning Sky woke up in an unfamiliar bed, someone was in the shower. She tried to sit up and take in her surroundings but she felt like she had been hit by a truck. "Owwwwwww…..damn Tequila!" She whined, pulling a pillow over her face.
"Morning sleepyhead!" She froze when she heard Eric's voice. She sat up slowly and looked down at herself in just a large shirt and him shirtless.
"Oh my god! Did we…?"
He laughed and sat next to her, "No sweetheart, I found you wandering the compound in Four's t-shirt and brought you here to sleep. Nothing happened."
She sighed in relief until she remembered everything that happened last night. She put her head in her hands, "Oh my god, you saw me naked! Oh my god! And Zeke! And Four! Oh shit…."
Eric rubbed her back and handed her a glass of some weird green liquid, "Here, drink this. Then once the hangover is gone, we can work through everything that happened last night."
Sky nodded and downed the liquid, it tasted minty. She liked it. She also liked that it was fast, her headache was gone within minutes. Eric handed her a pair of sweats so she had more than just a shirt on. As she pulled them on she looked at him, "So you, Zeke, and Four all saw me naked last night…."
Eric nodded and smiled before answering, "Definitely a nice view from where I was standing."
She rolled her eyes and continued, "Four and I fought. Oh god, I gave him an ultimatum! And then ran into you and we came here and….."
Eric finished her sentence, "Talked."
She cocked her head to the side slightly, "About?"
He crossed his arms, "You kept saying how you weren't good enough and nobody would like you if they knew the real you…..But you wouldn't tell me what you meant. And then we cuddled."
She nodded and braided her hair, "Good….thanks for taking care of me…"
He nodded, "You should probably get back to your dormitory, Four's gonna wake you guys up soon."
She gave him a hug and left his apartment, she started walking away when she ran into Four. "Oh! Hi…." She said awkwardly. He just stood there silently as he realized she just left Eric's apartment. He clenched his jaw, "So you give me an ultimatum. And storm out of my apartment. And then you don't even give me a chance to choose you before you move on to Eric? Real nice Sky!" He then stormed off before she could explain.
