Skipper sipped from the cup he held in his flippers. It was around ten o'clock at night, and currently they were in their secret home, in the main room. He was having Manfredi and Johnson practice a few simple moves on the log that they'd dragged into their base. Skipper sipped more coffee from the cup he'd borrowed from the gift shop.
He was still wary about training the two, but it was obvious from the events earlier in the day that he would be able to take down Deadshot much easier with a team. Besides. He'd train them but he'd make sure that he was still more skilled, just in case one of them went bad. And as soon as Deadshot was behind bars, he'd disappear and try and find Harley, his old friend. Maybe after Deadshot was caught he'd go after Hans, and maybe, just maybe go after Blowhole. After all it was his job to keep villainous skum like his two ex-allies from doing any evil.
"Alright, let's try it one on one" Skipper told them, he set the cup down on the table he'd made out of an old board and concrete bricks.
"Ok" Manfredi and Johnson turned to face him.
"Attack me" he said. Both penguins slowly circled him, he watched them out of the corner of his eyes.
Johnson attacked first, he kicked out at Skipper, who easily blocked the blow, then he ducked and did a back flip as Manfredi tried to get the drop on him. Johnson once again tried to attack Skipper, but failed, Skipper easily side stepped him, and tripped him as he raced past Skipper, mainly to keep him from hitting the wall.
"Thud, thud, thud" Skipped bolted up through the hole and onto the island at the sound of animal footsteps. He lunged at the monkey, and took him down, the monkey or more accurately the chimp, looked scared out of his wits.
Manfredi and Johnson scrambled onto the island,
"Easy Skipper! He's a friend!" Johnson yelped.
"Take it easy" Manfredi added. Skipper glanced up at them,
"A friend is just an enemy that hasn't attacked yet" he told them, but he let the chimp go.
"Does that include teammates?" Manfredi asked, clearly both were surprised by his words.
"Don't know yet" Skipper replied, crossing his flippers over his chest.
"State your business civilian" he told the chimp.
"Well, sir my comrade Phil was kidnapped by this lemur, and well, Darla said that you could help" the chimp said awkwardly.
"A lemur, what'd he look like?" Skipper asked narrowing his eyes.
"Dark grey, golden eyes, carried a knife with him. He was quite rude too" the chimp sniffed.
"I'll get your friend back, don't worry about that" Skipper turned back to his teammates,
"Manfredi you're in charge till I get back. Make sure that no one gets in or out of the zoo till I get back". Skipper told them.
"Yes Skipper" they replied,
"what do we do if someone tries to come in?" Manfredi asked.
"Knock them out, or chase them off, I'll leave the choice up to you" Skipper told him, racing off towards the back entrance to the zoo. He slipped out and headed into the city.
It didn't take Skipper long to find Deadshot's trail, the lemur had gotten old, and was apparently shedding everywhere he went.
"Nice to see you again Skipsy" a hauntingly familiar voice said from behind him. Skipper knew that voice all too well, he slowly turned around to face the animal.
"Hello Hans" Skipper said stiffly, but calmly.
