Trapped Chapter Twelve
Pulling back, Naruto stood staring out at the Hidden Leaf Village. The place he used to call his home, the place where all his friends were, where he built a family from the ground and had it all ripped down again. It hurt his heart to have to look at the village from the village and not be welcomed inside. Stepping forwards Pein was quick to pull him back behind the trees as two anbu jumped past them in the forest. Not sensing anything the two anbu continued on their root.
"I need to get inside the village," Naruto whispered, Itachi landed beside Pein and Naruto.
Passing a nod to Pein, Pein was quick to disappear from Naruto's side. Taking Naruto's hand, Itachi pulled Naruto forwards. over the wall and into the cover of some trees, he didn't release his hand, until he was certain they weren't being watched. Releasing Naruto's hand, Itachi waited a second to ensure there was no chakra's nearby.
"Where do you want to go?" Itachi questioned, his senses on high alert for any anbu or ninjas.
"Hokage's office, I'm going to officially leave this village," Naruto said, he seemed uncertain.
Itachi knew that he couldn't have gone back to village to officially quit, he just left letting himself become a traitor to the village. Itachi didn't have the emotional strength to officially leave the village, he was impressed that Naruto wanted to do this.
"Travel by the rooftops?" Naruto asked.
"Ensure that you watch for ninja, tell me if you see anyone," Itachi ordered, standing up and stepping out from the cover of the trees.
When there was no movement, Itachi glanced back at Naruto. Stepping out beside Itachi, Naruto seemed to stand extremely close to Itachi's side, Aware that he was so close, Itachi jumped up on to the building. Following after Itachi, Naruto followed Itachi across the rooftops keeping an eye out for anyone. Hearing someone's laugher, Naruto froze turning towards the group, with the closed curtains of a small diner, Naruto could hear a group of people laughing, he knew who many of the people were. Gently Naruto landed on the floor in front of the curtains, calling for assistance through his Akatsuki ring Itachi followed suit. All of the Akatsuki members were shattered around the leaf village, ready to act if needed. Itachi didn't stop Naruto as he pushed through the curtains, following after him, Itachi was surprised to find all the people Naruto had once called his friends. The teams senseis and Tsunade the Hokage and their students. Being stood in the entrance, everyone had eyes on Naruto. It was immediately that they started to stand from around the small building, pulling out weapons. Weapons flew through the air towards him, Itachi grabbed Naruto poofing out of the building. Reappearing outside the diner, Itachi released Naruto pulling a kunai out to defend Naruto. The Akatsuki landed around them, Itachi took one glance at Pein before everyone started filtering out of the diner.
"Defend Naruto," Pein ordered, making it clear that he wanted Itachi to stay back and protect Naruto.
"You killed him," Tenten exclaimed.
"You hurt everyone," Kiba shouted.
"It is all your fault," Ino said.
"You monstre, can't even control yourself," Sasuke screamed, hearing his brother speak Itachi's eyes fell on Sasuke.
"I'm not here to fight, I'm here to quit. I'm here to leave the village officially," Naruto shouted, Pein kept his gaze on Tsunade waiting for an reply.
"You are a traitor," Tsunade said.
"No, he isn't. Naruto has quit, he isn't a traitor, because you failed to inform him," Itachi said, knowing the requirements for being labelled a traitor.
"You would know, you are a traitor to this village," Tsunade snapped.
"Yeah, I would know," Itachi answered.
Kisame stepped back as Lee lashed out to attack him, being hit in the side by Lee's strong, quick kick. Stumbling back, Kisame drew his sword out in front of himself to block the next attack. Stepping between Kisame and Lee, Pein blocked Lee's attack and flipped Lee backwards into the group. Twisting in the air, Lee landed beside Neji, almost falling into Kiba and Shiro.
"I don't want to be here anymore, Pein can we go home. I've done what I needed," Naruto said.
"One more thing," Pein said, tilting his head to the side and lowering his stance into a better defensive one.
"Naruto, close your eyes," Konan ordered, stepping up from behind Naruto to cover his eyes with her hands.
Pressing his back to Konan, the lone female member of the Akatsuki was taller than Naruto, allowing her to hold him within a protective hold. Without out his sight, he could feel Pein's and Itachi's chakras unleash in front of him. Konan's grip tightened, he pulled Naruto closer to her as the chakra grew stranger. Before Naruto knew it, Konan uncovered his eyes, staring straight ahead, Itachi and Pein were stood among his former group of friends, teammates, teachers and Hokage's unconscious bodies.
"It is time to go," Pein informed everyone, sirens and lights beginning to go on throughout the village.
"I know," Naruto whispered, his legs giving out from beneath him causing him to fall to the ground.
Catching him, Konan sunk down to her knees. Resting Naruto's head on her lap, Konan glanced at Pein the worry clear on her face. Stepping closer to Konan and Naruto, Pein could already sense Lead ninja and Anbu heading in their direction.
"Hidan, Kakuzu, deal with everyone in our path. Sasori and Deidara ensure that no one sneaks up on us. Everyone else protect Konan, Naruto and me," Pein ordered.
Helping Konan get Naruto up, Pein and Konan supported Naruto's weight between them. Staying surrounded by the Akatsuki members, they ran as a unit towards the edge of the village. Painfully aware of everyone around them, Konan passed Naruto's weight completely to Pein for a minute, Itachi taking her place. Reaching the edge of the village, Konan leapt up in the middle of the Akatsuki. Paper flew in all directions, paper seemed to fold in all different types of animals. As soon as swarms gathered together, they attacked the ninjas. Dropping to the ground, Konan pulled the paper back to her. Folding together, they compacted tightly, allowing them to form a small flower which landed on the side of her head. Reaching the edge of the village, Itachi knew as soon as they crossed the barrier they would be able to teleport from the fire country. Abu blocked the last little bit, not wanting to fight them, Pein glanced round behind them to see how many were following.
"Get us out of here," Pein ordered, glancing at Itachi to see if there was any trade secrets.
"I know a way," Itachi answered.
Itachi leapt to the side, Pein keeping up with him and Naruto in the middle. The rest of the Akatsuki followed behind closely, being aware to protect Pein, Itachi and Naruto from all weapons and attacks that were thrown their way. Before they knew it, the Akatsuki entered the Uchiha Compound, standing in a large open area at the front of the compound. Itachi closed his eyes trying to sense whether the barrier had been extended to cover the compound. Not finding anything, Itachi created a hand sign with one hand before the rest of the Akatsuki copied. Being thrown into the forest, Pein braced his body between Naruto and the floor, barely able to hold him up from the force. Itachi crouched on a low tree branch, having landed perfectly when he was thrown from the teleportation jutsu.
"Where are we?" Pein asked, glancing round to ensure everyone was here.
"At the edge of the fire country," Itachi answered, knowing this area extremely well.
"How long until we reach the base?" Pein asked, slowly lowering Naruto into a sitting position before Pein knelt before him to support Naruto's limp body.
"Four hours, including brakes and any possible distractions," Itachi answered.
"Did you add Naruto into the..." Pein began.
"Yes, along with the weather, the chances that we are to be attack ked and a number of other things," Itachi answered, not happy he was being second guessed.
Konan knelt down beside Naruto, setting her hand on his shoulder Konan gave Pein a worried glance.
"Naruto, it's time to wake up," Konan said gently, shaking him lightly.
Naruto's eyes flickered open, he stared ahead before glancing at Pein.
"I'm proud of you," Pein told Naruto.
"I don't know how," Naruto mumbled.
"What you did is more than any of us did," Sasori told Naruto, standing next to Deidara across from Naruto.
"What I did was pass out," Naruto whispered, a tear falling down his face.
Everyone remained silent, not knowing what to do with the crying child.
"They think I'm weak...I am weak," Naruto told everyone.
Hugging Naruto to her side, Konan held Naruto close. Hearing the boy's breathing quicken, it wasn't long before Konan could feel his breathing begin to slow and sense him begin to calm. Keeping him close, Naruto relaxed in Konan's hold letting her pull him up into a sitting position.
"It's time to go, Anbu will be leaving the village soon," Sasori told everyone.
"Naruto, can you run?" Pein asked.
"Yeah, course. I'm the leader of the Rain Village," Naruto replied.
"Are you sure?" Pein questioned, for the first time in forever Pein left the pressure lift from his shoulders.
He was to become the Akatsuki leader and only the Akatsuki leader, Naruto would take over as the leader of the village. They had a lot of work to do; Naruto had a lot to learn but he would pick it up fast. In the end Naruto would become an even better leader than Pein at the job, but that wasn't hard, Pein had spent most of the time looking after the Akatsuki and protecting the village. Using the rain Pein could protect and watch over the whole village, when it came time to that Naruto took over full complete, without Pein's help it would be the last thing Pein would teach him.
"Lead us there, Leader of the Rain Village," Pein ordered.
"Yes, sir," Naruto said, giving Pein a small smile.
