Zero had his hand on Yuki throat, ready to end her life. It would be simple and painless death, like Zero had planned. Yuki was a Pureblood, so killing her was not a simple process to do. However, Yuki was also young and naive. Zero could knock Yuki out and then find a way to kill her off afterwards.
Suddenly, a scream erupted from one of the rooms. Zero froze, his concentration lost. He let go of Yuki as he heard footsteps come closer. It was his vampire hunter friend, Kaito.
"Zero, there's been a murder!" Kaito said. He was out of breathe.
Yuki could smell the blood in the air, it smelt like Pureblood.
Zero gave Kaito a look, like he shouldn't have just mentioned that with Yuki in the room. Either way, there was no time for yelling at Kaito. Zero followed Kaito into one of the adjourning room.
Zero turned around to see Yuki tailing behind him. "Shouldn't you be with your precious fiance?" Zero asked.
Yuki rolled her eyes. "Kaname can take care of himself."
Kaito opened the door. Inside there was the corpse of a female vampire hunter on the floor. On the table, there was dust from the remains of a vampire. Yuki smelt the blood it in the air, it was obviously from a Pureblood.
"Ouri-san's been killed, and that vampire hunter that no one really knows about is dead too!" Kaito said.
"Who did this?" Zero asked. He was more worried about the unnamed vampire hunter than Ouri. He was secretly glad that another Pureblood got killed, even though he wouldn't admit it.
Yuki sighed. She thought it was pretty obvious who did it. "Obviously Sara did it, that two-timing bitch."
Kaito was shocked that Yuki would accuse Sara of all people for comiting the murder. "Sara? Ouri-san's fiance?"
Yuki nodded. "It's obvious. She couldn't eat my friend, so she ate Ouri."
Zero knew that Yuki wasn't so unknowing as people thought she was. Even though Kaname tried to keep Yuki in his creepy mansion all to himself, Yuki still had common sense when it came to solving problems.
"I agree with Yuki. I think Sara did it," Zero said. He never liked the blonde anyway. Not only did she try to take a bite out of Yuri, she was a rude guest.
Yuki nodded. "Blondie needs to go."
"Did someone just say something rude about our guest?" A deep voice said from outside the door. Kaname walked through the room. He had a wine glass in his hands. His shirt was loose, his hair looked slightly dissheveled. Yuki never saw Kaname look like such a hot mess. Usually he was a pretty put together guy.
"Yes," Yuki said, as she glanced at Kaname's ragged appearance. She wondered how much he had to drink. Usually Kaname never drunk because he was too busy having a stick up his ass. It was weird to see Kaname let loose.
Yuki tried to give Kaname a recap on the situation. "Kaname, Sara killed Ouri-san. She's a sneaky bitch. I think you should use your vampire powers to kill her before she starts acting up again."
Kaname sat down on a chair and put his feet on top of the table that covered the evidence. The dust from the dead body got on his shoes. "Now hold up, little sis. Sara's a cool girl." He took another sip of wine. "You guys should drink, you look a little tense."
Yuki could not believe his nonchalant behavior. "Kaname, get your feet off the evidence!"
Kaname sighed, and looked at Zero and Kaito. "I think I know why I've been asleep all these years. It's to escape the old ball and chain, am I right fellas?"
Zero opened his mouth wide in shock. Kaito wanted to laugh but didn't when he saw how pissed off Yuki was.
Yuki's face was all red. She looked like she wanted to knock Kaname out.
"That's it Kaname, you're not getting any tonight," Yuki said.
Kaito unfortunately couldn't control himself any longer, so he burst out laughing.
Kaname laughed a bit, but then stopped when he realized the accuracy of what Yuki was saying. He wasn't getting some anytime soon. They both decided that they wanted made to wait until marriage. Besides, Kaname came home so late from partying that there was no time for that.
"Yuki, since when did you give me some? I've lived for centuries and that still hasn't happened," Kaname said.
Zero had once heard a rumor that Kaname was a century old virgin. Zero thought it was unlikely that Kaname lived for centuries and was still a virgin, but still. That would explain why Kaname was desperate enough to be in a relationship with his sister.
"Enough!" Yuki yelled. She looked beyond irritated with Kaname's primitive needs. "There's a murder here, and Sara's the culprit. If you don't want to kill her Kaname, then I will!"
Zero looked shell shocked as Yuki brought out her Artemis that turned into a death scythe. Yuki walked out of the room, with the giant scythe in her hand. She looked beyond pissed.
He could hear Yuki yell in the hallway. "Hey Sara, where are you? Artemis wants to say hello"
Zero turned around to see Kaname passed out in the chair. His drool was getting all over the table. He was wasted. Zero got a quick thought in his mind that this would be the perfect time to kill Kaname, but then let that thought go. Even though strangling Kaname in his drunken stupor was something he would enjoy, Zero had Yuki to worry about. He knew that her anger was a disaster waiting to happen.
Despite the fact that Zero hated Sara, Yuki really didn't have enough evidence to kill Sara. Besides, walking around with a giant scythe in front of a bunch of vampire hunters and guests wasn't a very good idea. A vampire hunter might get the wrong impression and try to kill Yuki.
Even though Zero had planned to kill Yuki by himself, he didn't want her to die like this. It was a painful, unnecessary way to die. Zero wanted to kill all the vampires, but he still wasn't completely heartless. He had to stop Yuki before it was too late.
Zero ran out of the room, with Kaito right beside him. They had to stop Yuki before she got herself killed.
"Yuki, wait!" Zero said. His voice echoed through the hallway. He had to get to Yuki before Sara or the vampire hunters did.
