*I own nothing of the Vampire Diaries franchise. I'm just a stan of Bonnie's with a dream. I do however own Stella;)*
—Okay so I made a mistake last chapter saying Elena's parents are alive and I have to go back and fix it. Jeremy is in Buffalo with Jenna NOT their parents sorry;) Oh and long flashback head sorry again lol.
"The New Normal"
Bonnie floated across the room her still damp hair clinging gently to the mid curve of her back. Halting her movements she sat in front of her vanity mirror pulling on her robe; and taking a brush that lay idly there into her hands. Staring at her tired reflection she meticulously began brushing her long russet locks. To say her day was long wasn't good enough; after her shift today at the café she had to immediately rush home in time to do her world history test before its 12 o'clock deadline. Now brushing her half blown dried hair as it went from crinkled curls to deep waves she had a chance to catch her breath. Times like this she felt thirty years old instead of the tender age of twenty.
Suddenly feeling a little hot she let the pale pink silk robe slide down her arms exposing the matching gown underneath. The spaghetti strapped piece flowing fluidly over her small frame. Hearing the light giggles of Stella and Damon in the distance she sighed in contentment. Why she sent Damon to put her down she didn't know it was playtime whenever the two of them were together. Shaking her head she glided her mane from one shoulder to the other zeroing in at the scar that remained painted atop her left breast.
Dropping the brush she slowly ran her fingers over the raised mark. Her mind drifting back to the moment the fang print adorned her skin. It was really the start of the torrid love affair of her and Damon.
It happened just after the tomb spell and subsequently her grams death. Bonnie had slowly begun to lose grasps with reality. She had been in the middle of performing some resurrection spell when the blue-eyed devil himself came like a bat out hell to stop her. Long story short to bring Grams back would have ended with Elena's death and of course that wasn't going to happen. The fact that she couldn't go through with it made Bonnie even more livid; needless to say they fought, almost to death…
"You missed, witch." Damon bit out in pain.
She shrugged her shoulders moving towards him, "you moved, bitch."
Damon stood pressed into the tree dumbfounded as he watched his own blood hit the forest floor. The fallen branch nested in his torso making it harder to breathe. This wasn't what he expected, last week the little witch could barely float a feather.
He pulled the branch out, groaning as he let out several unnecessary breaths. If that wasn't bad enough his wound wasn't healing as fast as it should have. What the hell was going on?
"Now this is embarrassing." Bonnie laughed. "For you that is."
Damon growled and launched towards her. He gripped her neck tightly as she fought to get from under his embrace. Her legs flailing in the air.
"You know, I was actually going to pardon you tonight. Thanks for reminding me not too." he spat.
Bonnie glared at the cocky vampire; before using as much power she could muster to get him off of her. She felt the weakness from all the spells weighing down on her and panicked. Her heart was racing and by the smug grin on his face she knew he could hear it. Thanking whatever force above that helped her shake him off, she ran as fast as she could back towards the witches house.
Her grams didn't raise no fool she quickly knew this was turning into a suicide mission. Her powers were her lifeline and she could feel them tapping out. As she passed the well she was yanked backwards harshly by her hair. Bonnie grimaced as she was flung into the hard surface. She closed her eyes and looked up into his onyx ones. He was smirking and she inwardly cursed herself. She was going to die tonight no doubt.
"Now Judgy it's rude to leave without saying goodbye. You wanted to play, now the game's on." he sneered before sending her crashing into a tree.
Bonnie groaned as her head snapped back the bark of the tree stabbing into her back. She felt her legs give out and her body was slowing descending the tree in defeat. Before she hit the ground; Damon was back in her face, crushing her harder into the tree.
"This is embarrassing." he mocked sliding his thumb against her lower lip. "Doesn't feel so hot when you're the one pinned to the tree huh?" he finished licking the trickle of blood.
Bonnie closed her eyes silently praying that her grams would send down some power. Bonnie was far from a quitter, but she couldn't stop the tears that began to fall. Her mind may have wanted to continue but her body was on fire, it was done.
She jumped up and wrapped her legs around him bringing him close. Deciding if she was to leave this earth tonight she would fight till her dying breath. She mumbled a spell to make her legs like vise grips to break his back to no avail.
"Why isn't it working!" she breathed out frustrated.
Damon couldn't hold in his laughter. "Guess you're all tapped out. I got the juice now." he laughed.
Bonnie narrowed her eyes at him. In a last stitch effort she tried giving him an aneurysm. By his facial expression she barely gave him a headache.
He continued to laugh. Causing her to become more angry. She was tired and weak, and if he was going to kill her why couldn't he just do it now. Get it over with.
Still enwrapped in her legs, Damon moved a piece of hair out of her face. "You're pathetic you know that?"
She rolled her eyes. "I'm pathetic? Says the guy who waited 145 years for someone who couldn't give two shits about them. Ha! You should be begging me to end your pathetic life." she hissed.
Damon's smirk disappeared. He growled furiously grabbing her neck again. "Shut up!"
"You know what makes it more pathetic?" Bonnie mused. "She didn't even think enough of you to give you a proper break-up. You were nothing to her."
"Shut up Bonnie! Before I shut you up." He gritted out getting closer to her face.
"Guess 'Mr. Eternal Stud' was duped. Not as irresistible as you think huh?" she taunted.
Damon inched closer into her personal space squeezing her neck tighter. "Go to hell, bitch."
"I'm already there!" Bonnie retorted squeezing him closer trying the spell one more time.
They glared at each other ferociously, both thinking of all they lost. All the sacrifices they made only to end up with the short end of the stick. Both subconsciously wanting the other to put them out of their own miseries. He was hurt and she was hurting. He didn't know when, but somewhere along the line broken eyes met broken eyes.
"If you're gonna kill me then do it!" Bonnie cried. Unconsciously squeezing her legs. Tired of the limbo. Tired of life.
Damon —who could only take so much friction— growled. Fire still in his eyes he jacked her up pressing his cool lips to her warm ones. Hard. The kiss was rough, sloppy, brutal, bruising, and turbulent. Everything a kiss shouldn't be, but everything they needed. It was tempestuous punishment. A bittersweet release. An escape from the personal hell they were in. She sucked his lower lip and felt his fang nip hers drawing blood.
She moaned into his cool mouth as he ground himself further into her legs. Her hands worked their way from her sides, up his tight cotton shirt, one clutching the fabric and the other around his neck. She caressed his tongue with hers before biting it, and nibbling on his lips. Evoking a heated groan from the vampire's lips.
Bonnie felt her air ways constricting and broke away from the kiss. Damon not missing a beat, released her neck rested one hand on the oak tree, while moving the other to cup her ass. He trailed his tongue down her caramel neck, before pressing kisses. She let out a few short staggered breaths; her fingers making their way to tousle his already messy hair.
Damon let the hand that was resting against the tree roam over Bonnie's curvaceous body, before settling at the hem of her shirt and going under. She threw her head back as he continued abusing her neck and collarbone with his kisses. Eventually his mouth found its way back to hers and she deepened the kiss clutching his t-shirt into her fists. She felt his tongue slide across her lower lip again, and obliged his request. Moaning involuntarily as they dueled for dominance.
He groaned as she nibbled his bottom lip again playing with his right ear. He shifted position and Bonnie gasped as she felt his hardened member sweep against her sweet spot. He lifted her up a few more inches allowing her to grab hold of a branch overhead; freeing up his hand. While he went to release his throbbing erection. Bonnie heard him slide his zipper down and with one hand cupped under her bottom; the other glided over her legging-covered thigh under her skirt. Damon wasted no time ripping the flimsy material and fisting her lace panties into his hand. His knuckles rubbing slowly against her clit sending a shudder through her body. She was so wet, so hot Damon thought he would cum now. He buried his head in her neck, and let out an unnecessary breath.
Bonnie felt the cold breath against her ear and bit her lip in anticipation. Damon keep up his ministrations and smirked when he felt the gush of liquid hit his waiting hand. He twisted his hand once more and in one quick motion ripped her panties off. He tugged impatiently at her skirt offering it the same fate as her discarded underwear and tights.
"Don't rip it." Bonnie peeped out softly, still recovering from her impromptu orgasm.
Damon nodded and slid his hand towards the button. He stepped back unwrapping Bonnie's still shaky legs and let the skirt slide down to her ankles.
"Lift your leg." he cooed in her ear, causing her to shudder again.
She lifted her right leg and before she could get it back on the ground her legs were back around his waist. His tongue back down her throat. He kissed her with such fervor, such want she felt herself getting light headed. Coming back down from the mini high she felt his dick against her thigh inching higher. Finally rubbing against her entrance, she squeezed her eyes shut as Damon shifted once more grabbing each of her legs.
Damon brutally thrust as much as he could into her causing a shriek then whimper from Bonnie. As he continued to pump slowing a little more of his length sliding in with each push. The tightness of her warmth was everything from jarring to unnerving. The heat of her cave intertwined with the chill of his erection giving a whole new meaning to the words fire and ice. He'd swear he never felt anything more enchanting.
His eyes crossed flashing between black and blue before settling on the former; as a lone tear slid down Bonnie's soft cheek. Leaning against the tree for support; and halting his movement he bored into her emerald green eyes eyebrow raised. Damon may be an asshole, but he really wasn't a virginity snatcher. He never wanted the responsibility and unless the witch was in a kegal contest recently she was the "Virgin Mary" reincarnated.
"What are you waiting for?" Bonnie whimpered eyes glassy. "Do it."
She seen the flicker of hesitance in Damon's icicle eyes. Saw the flash of guilt telling him maybe he shouldn't, the impending grief that would eat away at him if he allowed himself to feel. But she didn't care. She wanted him to hurt. She wanted to cause him pain. It wasn't fair. It wasn't fair that he could turn his emotions off at a drop of a hat, and she was forced to feel. She wanted to punish him for the curse that was dawned upon him that seemed more like a blessing right now. But more than anything it wasn't about him. She wanted to punish herself.
Unable to take the intensity of Damon's gaze any longer; she diverted her eyes. Bonnie pulled up with the branch and slammed down taking in his full length eliciting a heart wrenching moan from each of them. Damon balled his fist into her hair attacking her lips again thrusting deep into her slow and steady. She felt the bark of the tree scratching her back and fused her head into Damon's shoulder to muffle her screams. This only egged Damon on in the ecstasy he was feeling courtesy of her tightness. Caught up in the rapture he pulled away to give her a chance to catch her breath. Bonnie felt the now familiar pressure building up and tightened her legs around Damon.
Damon felt the clinching of her walls the power causing him to nip his own lip. "God…"
"Faster." she panted into his neck her soft lips caressing the skin.
Damon picked up his pace causing another scream from Bonnie. Feeling a change of position she pushed his shoulders and Damon fell flat onto the forest floor. Bonnie rode him harder both hands on his hard chest. He began mumbling incoherently in Italian, eyes rolling every which way. That sent Bonnie over the edge in a shaking fit. It was the sexiest thing she had ever heard in her life, but this wasn't the moment. She wanted him to shut up and let her ride out her grief, her pain. She bent over taking his lips in hers tasting the metallic mixture of both their blood.
"Fuck." Damon growled flipping them over plunging harder as her heat clinched him for dear life.
He groaned licking his lips as his own climax neared. Each thrust he took was a personal fuck you to Katherine. Showing her that he was worthy, that he could cause pleasure as well as pain. That he was needed, he was the better choice. It was to show her what she was missing. He ran his hands up Bonnie's shirt caressing her breasts before freeing them from their prison. They stared at each other's lust clouded eyes. His black rimmed in red hers hinting an acai color.
Dipping his head low, he nibbled both of her perky breasts before sinking his fangs into the top of her left one. Suckling softly as he came provoking another orgasm from the already shivering witch. She moaned as he licked her nipple and kissed up her collarbone leaving a trail of her own blood.
They stayed there, connected. Him over her; panting deeply. One being really out of breath, the other out of disbelief.
Bonnie Bennett had given him the best fuck of his life. Not to mention that her blood had him feeling like the cow that jumped over the moon. He stared down at the tiny witch under him eyes meeting for the hundredth time that night. She seemed to be almost glowing thanks to the shimmering of her sweat.
Bonnie stared deeply into his piercing blues. She calmly lifted her hand to his cheek caressing it softly, before delivering a painful slap causing him to roll off of her.
"This is why I hate witches." Damon glared.
Bonnie hated thinking about their first time, her first time. She always believed their first real time was the night—unbeknownst to her at the time— they conceived Stella. Before then she saw Damon as her rock bottom; her life was already a mess spiraling out of control, so she figured she might as well go out with a bang. That bang being every kind of magic she could get her hands on. As she thought about it now, yes he was still her rock bottom, but he was also her beacon of light. Looking back he loved her enough to not give up on her when everyone else had. He loved her enough to die for her when only one other person had done that before; and although she hated it she loved him. Only she never got to say it to him and mean it before it happened.
Still lost in her thoughts she hadn't even noticed Damon had returned until he pressed a kiss to the fingers still tracing the bite marks.
Her eyes flashed to him in an instant; her heart pounding hard against her chest at the intrusion.
"Hey." she smiled softly.
"I got you good huh?" he smirked resting his head on her shoulder his eyes never leaving hers as they stared at each other through the mirror.
"Damon."
He rounded the witch sitting at the edge of the vanity table. "What? I count that as one of my finest moments in life. The day I got to bite Bonnie 'foot stuck up my pretty little ass' Bennett." he teased.
At the lack of amusement in her eyes he sobered up clearing his throat. "Hey what's the matter?"
Avoiding his eyes she bent to pick up the discarded robe. "Nothing." she sighed walking towards the massive bed.
Damon was hot on her heels and before she could climb into bed he had her wrist tugging it lightly. "Say that to someone who doesn't know you."
Nibbling her lip she turned to face him, the concern in his methane eyes warming her heart. "I was just thinking about the less than perfect way we got together. It was so vulgar and crude; I've never shared it with anyone Damon. Not Caroline and definitely not Elena." Suddenly finding his chest interesting she whispered softly. "It makes me feel dirty and ashamed."
"What about Stefan?" Damon finally spoke. "Did you tell him?"
He studied her watching each wrinkle of her nose and flicker of her eyes. He didn't know why that was the first thing to fly out of his mouth, but he had an uneasy feeling about the two since their argument earlier in the day. They were being to hush-hush about something and the fact that she hadn't answered yet only surged his suspicions.
Seeing that he was still awaiting her answer she exhaled already knowing how he would react. "He doesn't know specifics if that's what you wanna know." she exclaimed removing her wrist from his hold. "That's something I intend to keep between us."
He watched as she went back to the vanity, sitting ever so poised as her fingers crossed to create a fishtail braid. "I can't believe out of everything I've just said that was the only thing that stuck out to you."
"It was the only thing you left out." he retorted ditching his shirt and pants. "And sorry if me not wanting to remember how ashamed you were of me, bothers you Judgy."
Dropping the unfinished braid and rotating from the mirror her mouth down turned further into a tight line. She wanted to say something, anything to dispute his claim but she couldn't. He was right and that was the exact reason why she didn't want to bring up the past. Too many wounds were still left unhealed and neither one wanted to relive the trauma. Pulling on her big girl panties she decided that this was her sign to concede because she really didn't want to argue.
Her seat long abandoned she closed the distance between them. Her arms wrapping around his lean torso while he continued his stoic stance. "I'm sorry I hurt you." she said tenderly against his shoulder.
A tick was hammering deep in his jaw, the feeling of her petal soft lips against his skin only making his crouch area ache more then it already was. This could all be over with a good ole roll in the hay; he thought immediately knowing she felt the same as her slender fingers crept over his bare back. He would likely take her up on the unspoken offer; though he wouldn't let her off that easy.
As the seconds waned on without his response her hands moved back to his front. Smoothing them up the creases of his abs she began christening his shoulder blade with open mouth kisses. If she couldn't faze him with her words then she'd do it with her actions. After all that's what it always came down to with them. Actions.
Damon felt his resolve faltering as her small hands moved lower easily sliding into his boxers. To his dismay he only got harder at her touch; so much so he bit his lip to keep from hissing. She only stopped her kisses to utter two words. "Forgive me."
His firm gaze was gone once he turned to meet her grassy green eyes. Could he really be mad at her for how he made her feel? He seen she was in a slump that was surely depression; and instead of informing her friends he'd manipulated her because of his own feelings he didn't know how to handle. Which in turn only proved her words—that he's beneath her—to be true. Rationally he knew she didn't mean that anymore, but it didn't make the words hurt any less. Back then it was all about who could hurt the other more; she'd hurt him physically and since he couldn't reciprocate he'd cut her down emotionally.
Bonnie stared into his electric blue eyes unable to read him, despite the fact they were connected in the deepest of ways. Inwardly, she chastised herself for trying to evade their problems with sex. Mind-blowing sex at that, but it was all she really knew when it came to them. Letting her hands fall she lifted her head defiantly before making an about-face to the vanity where she began taking off her earrings. When she got to the heavy rock weighing down her left ringer finger she felt the calloused balmy hands of Damon encompass hers. Their eyes meeting in the mirror.
"Keep it on." he said thickly into her ear, placing both of her hands palm down on the table.
Gliding his hands up her arms and to her shoulders he stopped at her housecoat glaring at her with those gunmetal eyes as if asking permission to go further. He was pressed so tightly against her the only thing she could do was blink. She felt every bit of his manhood on the curve of her ass and nearly choked on the anticipation building within her. She licked her lips when he disrobed her of both her robe and slip. Arching her spine just a bit; in one fell swoop he was inside of her neither breaking the eye contact of their reflections.
The jewelry box shook violently soon falling to the ground while the mirror continued to smack against the wall. Damon flipped their positions without warning nearly throwing her unto the desk. His lips devouring hers as she breathed his name high on the ecstasy he was giving her. Gripping her thighs he began thrashing into her like no tomorrow his hand rubbing on her sweetest spot. He hadn't meant to be so rough, but the way she was whimpering his name sent him overboard. Feeling the familiar constriction around his dick he began giving her long sluggish strokes until that gush of liquid ran slowly down his length.
Bonnie's arms wrapped tightly around his neck as the jerking subsided. "I don't want to fight anymore." she panted heavily as he peppered kisses against her neck and collarbone.
"Then we better keep fucking." he rasped lifting her spent body to the bed to finish what he started.
At the stroke of two he was up and out of bed without a word. Only pausing briefly at the dark oak door to take in Bonnie's still sleeping form. He fought the urge to kiss her forehead knowing that the slightest touch would stir the little witch. Easing the door closed he made his way down the long hall and stairs. He was out the door just as quietly unaware of the vampire watching his every move through the window.
Slender fingers tapped lightly against jean covered legs. The uncertain tune passing pale pink lips ever so often while the billow of chestnut hair flowed with the bobbing of her neck. Flipping to the next song on her ipod she settled back into her seat heaving a little sigh. It was now that she realized what she was doing. Instead of her train heading north to Buffalo like it should have been Elena had booked the first thing smoking to Mystic Falls after wrapping up her last final.
She just had to see him with her own eyes. Touch him with her own hands and hear the strong timbre of his voice. He was back and so was that familiar pull to be near him. She knew Bonnie would be upset but as childish as it sounded he was her friend first; and they had a bond. Stefan would be equally heated since he warned her a few weeks ago to stay away until he gave her the okay; but that was an impossible request. One person she hoped would be in her corner was Damon; and even that was kind of a long shot.
She remembered the first time she became aware of Bonnie and Damon. It was on the island when he insisted on staying with her and Shane; then refused to leave without her. Sure the two had long passed the period where they wanted to kill each other but the look in his eye when he thought professor Shane would harm her. The strain of his voice when he thought she was gone…she knew that look and voice.
Only she knew it when it came to her.
Mahogany orbs spun in their sockets; when she'd said he 'kinda loved her' she didn't know how much. Looking back she was so blind to the signs. Swallowing she peeled out her train ticket; she would only be in town a couple of days. Jenna and Jeremy were expecting her Thanksgiving, but if things went smoothly she was sure they'd understand.
"Lane, how much longer ya think it is 'til we reach Richmond?" the voice she corresponded to nails to a chalkboard spoke.
She was sure that they would understand her special package too.
She glanced at her boisterous roommate, sadly she had forgotten the girl was even with her. Elena was almost out the door and home free this morning when Beverly asked her where she was off too. After reluctantly answering the girl; Beverly fed her some sob story about how her parents would be out of the country for thanksgiving and how she was hoping the two of them could spend it together. Of course it tugged her heartstrings and she invited her along for the ride. Well after Beverly invited herself.
"About another hour or so." she replied sweetly sticking her ear bud back into its place.
The smile on Bev's face brightened if even possible as her green eyes shone in excitement. Elena couldn't help but return it she was so stocked on meeting her friends and family. Probably because when it came to her life back home she stuck by the saying 'mum's the word'. Nevertheless, maybe bringing her along wasn't such a bad idea; if everyone shunned her she'd still have one person on her side.
The next morning Bonnie found herself alone in bed. She stretched her arms overhead pushing back the comforter with her legs. Usually it was she who vacated the bed first so to wake and see Damon gone made her consider the fact that he may still be mad at her. Throwing her legs off the side of the bed she picked up the forgotten robe pulling it onto her naked form. As she got closer to the bathroom her the sound of running water penetrated her ears.
"Good morning." she said eyeing the scene before her half amused.
"Mornin'" the vampire smiled toothpaste flying out of his mouth.
Bonnie scrunched her nose, sticking out her tongue. "Eww, Damon." brushing past him she started the shower.
He rolled his eyes sticking more of his body back inside the door. "You try brushing your teeth with the rug-rat in your arms."
"Morning mommy." their daughter cheesed face full of foam.
Bonnie smiled brushing her nose against her baby's nose. "How's my big girl?"
Stella giggled as she tried to mimic her father's movements with her own toothbrush. Folding her arms Bonnie could do nothing, but laugh. This had to be the cutest thing she'd ever seen. Both Stella and Damon shirtless in dark jeans and motorcycle boots. Where Damon rocked his trademark black Stella's were a sparkly pink.
"You do realize she's a girl right?" the brunette asked.
"I got her the sparkly crap you're so keen on her wearing." he whined instructing her to spit.
Did vampire's even get funky breath? She nibbled her lip trying to think of the answer. In all her years knowing Stefan and Damon she'd never smelled onion, garlic, or any other thing that us pesky humans had to deal with.
"Why are you up so early anyway?" she asked dipping into the shower.
"Liz called this morning, she needs me." he smirked wiggling his brows facetiously.
"Oh…" Bonnie called. "When did you guys start back up with this?"
Call her selfish but she really didn't want Damon getting mixed back into supernatural business; and if Liz was calling that meant it must have been suspicious activities going on. She cursed silently; things had been so quiet lately she should have known something would pop up.
"It's about time we start getting back to normal." he enlightened walking back into the bedroom.
Hearing the slam of the bathroom door Bonnie decided to end her shower early. Quickly wrapping a towel around her, she stared after him wondering just what 'normal' is. He peeked over at her smirking as she tightened her hand around the towel like he hadn't already seen everything she's got. Lucky for her his little star was in the room because he had a quickie on his mind.
"Are you sure you wanna get back into this?" she asked watching him sit Stella down on the soft Persian rug adorning her with a kiss to the forehead.
"Later doll face." he grinned to the jovial child turning back to a frowning Bonnie.
"No pouting I have one for you too." he leered pulling her into his arms. "Make sure she doesn't spill orange juice all over the rug, huh."
"Damon."
Ignoring her he grabbed his leather jacket off the chair. "Have a nice day at work honey." he replied robotically swiping his tongue across her bottom lip.
Which she bit in return at his quip.
"Watch it." he warned baby blues wide and wild as he swallowed the small spot of blood that pooled. "You know I like it rough." pressing another hard kiss to her lips he was off.
Grabbing Stella she followed him down the hall. "Damon what about Stel's appointment at 2? You promised to take her."
"I'll be back by then." he answered taking the stairs two at a time. Pausing at the open door he turned to see her standing just where he knew she would. "Stop thinking the worst, I'm already dead." he said with the hint of a smile at his lips.
"Somehow that doesn't comfort me at all." she mumbled at the close of the door.
The things Caroline said to me kept replaying in my mind all night. She has to be mistaken. I'm not in love with Bonnie; I can't be. If so why would my undead heart still beat for Elena. Seeing her the other day and talking to her. Feeling her; everything from before just came crashing back. At the same time I couldn't wait to be back home to them; to her. Is Caroline right…do I really love her? My brother's girl. His soul mate? Is it my fate to fall in love with someone else's love forev—
"Stefan." he heard softly from his bedroom door. "I knocked but I don't think you heard it."
Clearing his throat he swiftly slid his journal back into his desk drawer. Then rose from his seat sliding his hands into his pocket. "Hey."
"You don't have to hide that from me, Stefan." she said meekly against the door jamb.
"And you don't have to stand outside the door like some stranger. You're more than welcome to come in Bonnie you know that."
She bit her lip at the smile on his face. It was almost like their fight yesterday morning never happened. "I um, I want to apologize about yesterday; and everyday before then that I made you feel out of place. I was so caught up with Damon and him being here with Stella that I never stopped to think about how this effected you."
Moving in closer to where he stood she took his hands into hers squeezing them lightly rubbing her thumb against his skin. "I love you, Stefan and our relationship means so much to me. If it wasn't for your guidance I don't know if I would have made it. No one can take away what you've done for me and Stella and I'll forever be grateful to you."
If Stefan could blush he'd be beat red and probably passed out on the ground from all the blood that rushed to his face. Not only did she douse him with enough compliments to last him a lifetime, but she'd said the word relationship, meaning that what they had was more than a friendship. Albeit, that didn't mean she saw him as anything but a very close friend it meant something; and something was better than nothing.
The younger Salvatore entangled their fingers briefly before pulling her into a hug. "I'm the one who should apologize I was out of line."
"You were." she agreed. "But that doesn't negate what I said."
He laughed. "Can we forget about this now? The tension was strangling me."
"Say no more." she exhaled twiddling her thumbs. "Is it too soon for a favor?"
Shaking his head he pinned her with his teal eyes. "Bonnie Bennett are those ulterior motives I smell?"
"The only thing you're smelling is my Chanel perfume." she jabbed. "But seriously I have to meet y study group in an hour then clock in at the café; so I was wondering if you'd take Stel to her doctor's appointment at 2."
The word yes was on the tip of his tongue when he thought better of it. Quirking his brow he licked his lips. "Shouldn't Damon take her?"
"Damon's playing inspector Gadget with Liz and who knows how long that will be."
"If he isn't back by 1:30 then I'll be honored to escort the princess to her check up."
Her arms were around his neck before he could get the last word out. "Thank you! Thank you! She'll be at the daycare waiting for you."
"Not a problem." he said to her retreating form.
Damon flicked his icicle eyes to the clock hanging on the country diner's wall. She'd stood him up…again, and just as before he didn't like it. Now he would have to follow through with his threat and she wouldn't like that.
"Are you sure I can't get you anything else sir?" the older waitress with the drawn on eyebrows and Dolly Parton hair asked.
Damon cocked a half smile throwing the old bat a bone. "Yea a stubborn witch with a superior complex."
The waitress blinked then howled in laughter. Even going far enough to slap him on the shoulder. "Not only are you pleasing to the eye but a comic too." she mused. "How about a refill on that coffee instead?"
Running a frustrated hand down his face he exhaled. "Make it to go."
"So how are you and Ty settling into the apartment?" Bonnie asked an animated Caroline.
The blonde nearly yelped in pleasure at the sound of his name. She'd been dying for her to ask it all afternoon. "It's going wonderful. So wonderful that I'm afraid to even release a breath of relief." she burst.
It had been hell for her to convince the hybrid that moving in was the only logical step in their relationship. He tried to find every excuse in the book as to why it wouldn't work especially since she was an active student at Whitmore and he was still in Mystic Falls bonding with his father and Mason. She shut that down real quick when she discovered the perfect apartment complex smack dab in the middle of the two places.
The sound of soft chuckling brought her back to the now. "Good thing you don't have to." Bonnie said.
"Seriously Bon. I know you're old and practically married now—"
"Hey!" she rebuffed narrowing her eyes.
"Don't shoot the messenger." the blonde shrugged. "But you know how Ty is. Here one minute gone the next. He's actually been home everyday these past few months and get this." she said leaning forward to emphasize her point. "He actually has his father, king Asshole himself, showing me some respect. He's coming over for dinner tonight."
"That's great Care. I'm so happy you guys are back on track we were all secretly rooting for you two." at the blonde's stare she amended. "Okay so mostly me, but you know Stefan." she informed wiping down the counter.
The past couple of years had been rough for both Tyler and Caroline, together and apart. Most of which stemmed from Klaus and his courtship of Caroline; while simultaneously ruining Tyler's life. Caroline developed a soft spot for the Original that Tyler couldn't understand and Tyler's frequent trips didn't make the already shaky relationship any better. When he found out about the dates the two were having in his absence he went crazy concocting a plan to take Klaus out for good. Unfortunately, it ended with his mother's death. Although the rising of Silas brought back his father and cousin his mother remained deceased. Just as Elena's parents. Ultimately he ended things with Caroline after she disagreed with his vengeance hunt. Fast forward to this year the two reconciled as they both tried to build new relationships with their revived fathers.
"What's with you? No steamy Bamon goodness for me today?" Caroline asked rubbing her hands.
Bonnie blushed refilling a customer's cup of coffee. Warring her lip she went back to her best friend. "We kind of had a bit of a fight last night."
Cornflower blues widened. "Already? Guess it's back to normal for you two then." she all but snickered.
Blowing a tendril of hair off her forehead she cut her eyes at the vampire. "It didn't last long." she sighed. "But I can tell the tension is still in the air between us. It's only a matter of time before it all blows up."
"Oh no." she frowned recalling all the other monumental arguments the two had. Every one ending in destruction of somebody's house. They loved hard and fought harder; they made her and Tyler seem like angels. All she knew is that she didn't want to be caught in that crossfire.
Sipping her iced Chai tea latte. Flicking her eyes back to Bonnie, "You know as crazy as this is gonna sound I think you guys should just lay all your cards on the table." she suggested .
Bonnie guffawed. "Yea…no."
"Listen to me, Bon out of all people you know I get what you're going through. Hell, I've lived it. I wish Tyler and I would have had a pow wow instead of walking on eggshells afraid to hurt the other's feelings. It would have saved us a year of wasted time. My psych teacher said it best, communication is key."
She sighed what felt like the 20th time. The gil had a point. In a perfect world she and Damon would sit in their bedroom throw all their insecurities and problems out and then have hot sex afterwards. You know, in a perfect world. One thing though they're far from perfect, polar opposite.
In the real world she'd light his ass on fire if the aneurysms didn't shut his smart ass mouth; and he'd probably shove her against the wall then proceed to rip her throat out. Call her crazy but she really enjoyed the act of swallowing. Oh and it would end in sex alright, hate sex. Yeah she'd rather they both caught amnesia and forgot about the damn past.
"Don't you think you owe it to each other to start this go around completely open and honest?" Caroline peeped seeing the faraway look in her friends eye. "For peaks sake Bonnie he died for you without even knowing you loved him." she whispered sternly.
Viridian eyes snapped to attention. "I didn't ask him too."
Shaking her hand she began gathering her things. "I gotta go if I'm going to make it back to Whitmore to kick this last final in the ass."
"Lucky you. My finals don't start till next week." she whined hating that she chose to go to the local college instead of Whitmore. Stefan had volunteered to watch Stella so she could get the whole college experience, but she couldn't burden him like that.
"And I'm sure you'll ace them all love." she smiled. "Hey can you tell Stef that he has to sleep at home tonight. Tyler's dad may not be too fond of two vamps."
Bonnie parted her lips then zipped them just as quick. So that's where he's been hiding out at. "Okay." she called back.
Damon posted against the backdoor studying the figures in the garden. Stella stood holding onto Stefan's hand while he pointed to various flowers stating their names. They'd just got home from her appointment to the pediatrician and despite her being with the doctor called 'hot blooded' all seemed well with the tot. He had gotten there a few minutes before the visit ended. His visitor had finally arrived though it ended up being a dead end in every sense of the word.
Focusing back to the view in front of him he felt his own blood getting hot. Stella and Stefan looked so comfortable around each other, he almost wanted to snap Stefan's neck so that all her attention would be on him. Those abnormal eyes just pierced his cold dead soul.
"Tunflower Pop-pop." he heard her squeaky voice ask.
His lips turned up of their own volition at her little speech impediment. For some reason the chick couldn't get those 's' sounds right to save her life. Bonnie had told him that was one reason why she called Stefan Pop-pop. Though 'Uncle Tefan' sounded perfectly fine to him.
Stefan's laughter reared him back in. He saw him smiling warmly at her guess. "No baby that's a dandelion; otherwise known as a weed." he chuckled kissing her hand.
"Danny lion?" she repeated gently.
"Close enough." her uncle shrugged.
Damon snorted placing a hand on the knob eager to break up this little bond they were having. He would be the first to admit he suffered from Only Child Syndrome; meaning that he didn't like to share, be told no, or have people he liked like each other. It wasn't his fault though, his mother shouldn't have had Stefan so late in life. Seven years was nearly a whole decade which meant it was too late to be having oopsies.
Just then he heard the closing of a door in the distance tilting his head to the side he nearly choked as the familiar scent wafted through his nostrils. Hand still plastered to the handle he stood stock still frozen in place. It couldn't be, more than anything it shouldn't be. Taking a breath he spun on his heel to face the trespasser. The person in his last weeks of life became his partner in crime. His mind whirled with pictures of the past stopping at their last encounter before everything changed.
"No Damon p-please don't make me do this." she pleaded as crystalline tears fell from her doe eyes. "Don't ask me to do this."
"You have to it's the only way this story can end." Seeing her hesitation he took her hand weakly in his staring directly into her eyes. "Do it for me…" tears cascaded down her eyes as she gripped his hands tighter.
She shook her head fiercely in the negative. "I can't I love you." he closed his eyes wishing that the person who spoke those three words he yearned so much to hear was brown skinned, green-eyed and 5'4.
Damon gave her what was meant to be a comforting smile, but he felt Silas's aura coming through. They were running out of time. "Do it for Bonnie." he breathed pointing the sword to his heart. "It's what I want you to do."
And she did.
"Elena."
Okay so this story is canon-ish I guess, but not really. I'm kind of combining the Silas/Travelers SL/mystical meanings which i'll get into later on. What's up with Damon and why is he back? What about Stefan and his conflicting feelings. Ty and Care seem to be on the right track and what about Elena popping up? How will every treat good ole Bev? Sorry for any mistakes and the long wait hope you enjoyed;)
