Chapter 9: The Truth Is, Only One
"What about him? He's cute."
Neptune sighed. "Healer, you have horrible taste in men."
Healer frowned. "That's the last time I help you then. I could be talking to Venus now. Someone," She shot Siren a dirty look. "Has been hogging Venus all to herself!"
"What?" Siren looked at her companions. "I'm sorry, I was looking at the sky." She resumed looking up. "Is it me, or has it gotten darker?"
Neptune, Healer and the man looked up.
"You're right!" The man said. "It is getting darker..."
"It's probably just night time. Don't get all worked up." Healer said, looking back down.
"I don't know Healer. It looks ominous to me." Neptune said. "What do you think Arcade Guy?"
Motoki looked startled. "Well, I'm not sure what's going on. Everything just blew up and it became like this... But I think the sky getting darker is definitely worse."
Healer glared at Motoki. "Go against me why don't you?"
Motoki laughed nervously. "Just saying, miss. It looks bad."
"Was it like this on your planet?" Neptune asked.
"Galaxia-sama usually pretends to be an ambassador from a planet. When everyone trusts her, we come in and take all the starseeds." Siren explained dazedly.
"Yeah, what she said." Healer grunted. "Stop looking at the sky like a drooling idiot!"
Siren looked back down. "Okay Healer-san."
"Motoki, get out of here. Go find some others. There has to be someone out here." Neptune yawned.
"Bye Bye Toki-chan!" Siren waved.
"Err, bye miss. And you two as well." Motoki bowed and walked away.
"I give him a week." Neptune said.
"Three days." Healer bet.
"Eleven minutes." Siren said.
The trio walked away from Motoki, walking in stride. In exactly eleven minutes, they heard an anguished scream.
"I win you guys!" Siren cheered.
"Haruka's fast today." Neptune remarked.
"I hate her." Healer spitefully ground out.
"We know, we know. Quit complaining." Neptune scowled.
"She's your girlfriend." Healer retorted.
Neptune quickened her pace. "Hurry up before she gets us too."
The other two quickly followed.
Rei, also known as Sailor Mars, was the epitome of fiery passion. She was the first one to fight for her princess. As Mars, she had war flowing through her veins, violence, anger, madness, all fell under her. She was extreme, violent, passionate. But now, she was only a shell of her old self. The fire had burnt out and what was left was smoldering embers, always for that spark, that one spark that would bring life back to the fire.
Rei had woken up during the aftershocks of the explosion. She was exhausted and confused. What happened? She was just wandering around with the other girls when a bright light filled her vision and booming sounds filled her ears.
She woke up next to a tree. It was black and shriveled, but one green leaf was still hanging on. Rei reached out to touch the vivid green leaf. It crumbled as soon as she touched it...
She didn't want to be here. It was cold and impersonal. She vowed to changed as soon as she got out of this frozen hell. She sent her spirit out and observed her captors. They looked exhausted. Her friend especially. Well, it wouldn't kill her to make an appearance will it? Of course not, after all, she was already dead.
Mamoru looked at his beloved. She was crying again, the one called Fighter had said something harsh. Even in this dark, hopeless world, she was still her same self. The shine in the Silver Crystal was brighter than ever. Being with her friends, even without Makoto there, had polished her shine. He didn't believe Pluto when she said Usagi was not the one who would save the world. She would, her shine would illuminate the world. And bring light to this despicable world. He wished he could touch her or hug her, just once. But he couldn't. He could only watch from afar. Mamoru smiled sadly. It would be better this way.
