Chapter 12: Their Songs Resound Throughout the Sky
"I hate this place," Usagi muttered as she purified another youma. "These things are endless. I want to go home.."
"Home is gone, Odango." Fighter said. She punched a hole through a youma.
Mars burned one that Mercury had frozen. "Is there no end to these?" She asked. They had been fighting for hours, destroying youma after youma after youma. The youma kept coming in waves.
Usagi purified another. "I don't see why they're sending them after us. What did we do?"
"Exist?" Mercury half-joked. Fighter destroyed another youma.
"I don't know," she said. "and I don't care. I just want them gone."
Mercury froze another youma. She hastily took out her computer and visor.
"This isn't making any sense," She muttered. "Every time we destory one, two more take its place."
"That's because," an unnaturally high-pitched voice said. "You have to get them all!" The voice laughed manically.
"STAR FALL!" Several beams of lightning shot down from the heavens and fried the youma.
"Ewww," Usagi said. "Roast youma smells gross!" Mercury giggled while Fighter rolled her eyes.
"I think I deserve a thank you or something." A figure emerged from the darkness.
Fighter gaped. "Healer! You're alive!" Fighter hugged Healer tightly.
"Yeah, yeah I missed you too. Now let go of me." Fighter complied.
"You have no idea how happy I am to see you! I thought you were dead!"
Healer scowled. "Nice to know you have so much faith in me." Healer looked around.
"Where did she go?" Healer wondered.
"Who?" Mars asked.
"This weird idiot I've been traveling with. She's so annoying."
"Then why are you traveling with her?" Fighter asked.
"Similar interests." Healer replied. "How have you been doing?"
Fighter sighed. "Awful. I haven't seen any trace of the princess or Maker." Healer's eyes narrowed.
Fighter caught it. "What? You know something? Tell me! I order you!"
"I don't know anything! Stop yelling at me! They always yell at me..."
Fighter looked confused. "I'm sorry Healer..who's yelling at you?"
"That is none of your business." The new arrival turned her gaze on Healer. "How many times do I have to tell you to not run off Healer-san! Who knows what trouble you get into when we-I'm not there!"
Healer rolled her eyes. "Blah blah blah. You need to shut up too Siren."
"I won't! You're going to get yourself hurt! What if Haruka was here?" Siren lectured.
A bizarre look entered Healer's eyes. "I'd hurt her in the most horrible way. Then I'd kill her. Then I'd resurrect her! Then I'd kill her again and again and again and again and-" Healer's shriek was cut off by Siren's slap.
"Thanks." Healer rubbed her cheek. Siren nodded.
"I, for one, am lost. What's going on? Who are you? Where is Maker? And why do you want to kill Haruka?" Fighter ranted.
"Where is Minako?" Mars asked softly.
"M-Minako?" Healer gripped her head. "It wasn't my fault. I didn't mean it to happen..." Siren put her hand over Healer's mouth.
"She's dead." Siren said curtly. They looked on in shock.
"Who's Minako?" Usagi asked. Mercury burst into tears.
"I didn't think she'd die...She was so strong..." Fighter muttered.
Mars shook her head. "It doesn't matter. Nothing matters, this place is awful." Her eyes burned.
"I don't want to fight anymore..." Mercury cried, tears running down her face.
"No!" Healer shouted. "That's all we can do is fight! Fight until our last breath! Then we fight some more and then some more!" Healer laughed insanely. "Listen to the voices in my head!"
Siren sighed. She smiled at the others and bowed politely. "I'm sorry about that. We'll be seeing each other soon." She turned to Healer. "Let's go Healer-san, before the voices tell you to braid my hair again."
"It was beautiful!" Healer giggled before they teleported away.
"Wait..." Fighter said.
"They're gone." Mars said coldly. "Let's go. Before the youmas come back."
Mars and Mercury left first, leaving Fighter and Usagi behind.
"Fighter..." Usagi said.
"Yes, Odango?"
"Who where those people? Who's Minako?"
