Chapter 16: Why Do You Feel Nothing?
Mamoru Chiba looked at the TV screen. His favorite show was on, and he wasn't going to miss it again. Sachiko Jyoji had just admitted her love to Jun Kazuya, and Shibue Kamenashi wasn't happy at all! He felt a poke.
"Usa-ko, there are cheerios in the oven, eat when you are ready..." He heard shuffling. He sighed. This was the big confession and he couldn't hear Jun!
He was poked again. He looked up. There was his Usa-ko, except she just seemed off. Maybe it was the failed dye job. Blue was not her color. "I love your hair..."
"Ummm thanks?" She replied. Her voice wasn't that deep, maybe it was lack of water. Mamoru did forget to go to the store. She poked him again. "You're really out of it today..."
"No, I'm good. Just watching my favorite show. Want to sit down?"
"No, this show is boring! You gotta watch something exciting and funny!" Good old Usa-ko. "Wait...who are you?" Silly Usa-ko, she knew who he was.
"I'm Mamoru. You already knew that."
Usa-ko nodded. She really looked different, today. Maybe it was because her hair was not in its odangos. Probably made her hungry. He turned his attention back on Sachiko and Jun. Uh-Oh, Shibue had Sachiko in an abandoned warehouse! He felt two more pokes. Now this was getting annoying...
He looked up and there were two Usagis! He blinked and rubbed his eyes. There was one Usagi(like there was supposed to be) and the pizza woman he had called earlier. "Hi Pizza Lady, could you just set it on the table? Me and Usa-ko are trying to watch TV."
Tin Nyanko looked at Aluminum Siren. Siren shrugged. "Umm, Hi." Nyanko said. "Is it a nice show?"
"No!" Siren answered. "This show is all so boringlike. We need something fun!"
Nyanko rolled her eyes as Mamoru kept his eyes on the 'TV'. Tin Nyanko crushed the flat rock with her bare hands. "There, I was getting sick of that TV..."
Mamoru freaked out. He collapsed to his knees, clutching the dust that was his beloved TV. He slowly draws R.I.P. In the ground, then takes a banana out of his pocket. "I can drive."
Aluminum Siren looked at the banana keys in confusion. "I don't get it, drive where Pizza Lady?"
"My name is not Pizza Lady! Call me Tin Nyanko!" Nyanko growled. "Besides, we can't drive." Nyanko grabbed both Mamoru and Siren.
"Where are we going Pizza Lady?" Mamoru asked dazedly.
"Just trust me."
"She's not dead, she's not dead, she's not dead, no no no no no no." Healer paced back and forth, fidgeting hands wringing together and pulling out small tufts of silver hair.
Siren rubbed her temples. "She is dead Healer, get over it." Siren said, her voice coming out much harsher than she wanted it to.
"No! You're wrong! She can't be dead, she can't be. She's right here, talking to Venus. They're talking to each other. They're friends."
Siren let out a groan of frustration. "No, you weak little fool, Fighter is dead and she will remain dead. Get that through your muddled head!"
Healer cowered away from the mermaid. Siren started to shriek.
"How dare you? You little worm! You would be nothing without me! You would be nothing but a cold little corpse! I saved you from the madness! I saved you from the pain! And what do you do? You scream and rant and rave at me!" Siren looked around wildly before her eyes fell on the half finished blanket she made for Healer. She huffed over, picked it up and threw it at the object of her rage. Then, she found rocks and started pelting them at Healer. "I am the one you owe your miserable life to! Haruka would be dead if I didn't have you to watch! Oh, but I must, I must! Your darling Venus told me to watch over you!" Siren lifted a giant rock, before sending it crashing at Healer, who barely avoided it."You, a bumbling, crumbling barnacle-head! I should kill you! Kill you where you stand, then I won't see your ugly face again! Then I can move out of this place! I hate it! I hate it, I hate it, I hat-"
"Siren, you're scaring me," Healer whispered.
Siren stopped screaming. She looked at the trembling Healer with sad eyes, then slumped to the ground.
"I'm sorry, Healer," she mumbled. "Sometimes, I get scary when I don't want to be. Please don't be mad."
Healer could do nothing but nod.
