Chapter 17: Why Do You Injure One Another?
"Hey Siren?"
"Yes Healer-san?"
"Why don't we go see those people?"
"What people, Healer-san?"
"You know, them."
"I don't know them Healer-san."
"Let's go, let's go! They're itching for it. They know something is going to happen!"
"Should we bring Neptune-san?"
"Who? Wait, no no. She's not pure. She's not gonna be with us in the new world."
"Alright."
Mercury unwound the ripped pieces of cloth that served as a bind for Mars' arm. "It's not a break, Rei-chan. You were lucky. Haruka could have done much much worse then she did."
Mars growled at the name. "That traitor deserves death. How dare she attack me like that? We're supposed to be on the same side! Neptune is no good either. She didn't even try to stop Uranus from attacking me!"
"Neptune was fighting Fighter's princess." Mercury said calmly as she set the makeshift sling to the side.
"Who was easy pickings! She should have been done with it!"
Mercury really looked at her incensed friend. Mars was getting more and more angry lately. Ever since the fight with Haruka, Mars had been quick to anger, sulky and violent.
"Usagi-chan!" Mercury called to the pale huddled figure. "I need some help!"
Usagi sighed and walked towards Mercury. She was worried. After Fighter's death, she didn't see her sister at all. Usagi was so afraid. What if Haruka got to her? What if that silver-haired person was being mean to her? What if there was no food? Usagi thought of all this while Mercury instructed her to grip Mars' arm tightly and push as hard as she could.
"Into the socket Usagi-chan. We don't want to damage anything." Mercury lectured. Usagi nodded numbly.
"On the count of three. One..."
What a weirdo...
"Two..."
It's that smug guy again.
"Three!"
He ticks me off!
"Push!"
Usagi pushed as hard as she could, ignoring Mars's cries of pain. If she kept pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing, something would give, it just had to.
"Okay, stop pushing Usagi-chan." Mercury said, sounding a bit rattled. Mars' cries had affected her more then she thought. Reluctantly, Usagi stopped pushing.
"There Rei-chan. Your arm is all better." Mercury rambled as she put the sling back on. "Just leave it alone for a while and then it will be as good as new."
Mars offered a weak smile. "Thank you Ami-chan. I needed it." Mercury smiled back. Usagi stared off into space. What did those flashes mean?
"Would you stop humming?"
"Why? It's such a pretty song."
"I don't like it. It reminds me of..."
"Of who, Healer-san?"
"That person! Who else would it be!?"
"No-one...forget I asked Healer-san."
"...Hey Siren?"
"Yes?"
"I didn't say stop humming."
Usagi heard a distant melody. Something sad. It brought tears to her eyes and filled her heart with longing. This song was important, she knew it. But, why? How? Wha-
That hurt Odango Atama. You'll never have a boyfriend if you don't act more ladylike.
Hahaha, that's good. Apologizing to the telephone pole.
Hurry, leave this place and go back to being an ordinary girl and find a cool boyfriend or something.
"Mamoru-san, you're the coolest."
