You probably noticed that I've dumped nine chapters on you in one sitting. At first, I wasn't going to do anything and just focus on my current project, but to everybody who has followed this story and liked it, you guys deserve to know where the story was going. So I went into Google Drive, copied and pasted the chapters and sent them out for you. These were all written three to four years ago, so you're getting the real thing, unedited, uncut and completely un-looked at!
When I first set out, I wanted to write a drabble-based apocalyptic Sailor Moon story. I wanted each chapter to stand alone somewhat, but still be connected by a plot. In terms of plot, it didn't really show through, but there is a clear journey the characters are going on and there's even a hint of an eventual resolution. This story has the distinction of being my darkest story and it's also the third longest thing I have ever written. I tried my hardest with this story, but I think that my skill level wasn't up to par with what I wanted to do.
Last year, I started to rewrite Apocalypse but I couldn't get past the first few words. I couldn't get into the mindset of this story anymore and I really didn't want to rewrite it. The person I was four years ago and the person I am now are two very different people and that really showed when I tried to rewrite it. In addition to starting college and focusing more on school, I really lost my passion for writing and even lost my passion for Sailor Moon. I still haven't regained my prior passion for Sailor Moon, I am ready to write again. Maybe I'll come back to this story again and write it the way I want to write it. Maybe someone wants to take this and write their own spin on it. But for now, I want all of you Apocalypse fans to at least have some closure, even if I'm four years too late.
What follows is my original outline for the rest of the story. It's basically a loose prompt covering what each chapter was supposed to cover. I kept everything pretty vague to give my chapters some room to grow and I hope these vague outlines make it easier for you to come up with your own ideas and opinions about the story. Nothing is changed except for the wording for clarity. When I wrote these all down on paper, I used a lot of shorthand and it wouldn't make a lot of sense to a lot of people. And like I said, this is the darkest story I have ever written and definitely one of the darkest stories I ever conceived. Some of these get really dark, so I'm giving you all a heads up. This was never going to be a happy story.
Chapter 18. Why? Aggressive Culture of Despotism: Rei/Sailor Mars starts slowly falling deeper into insanity. She starts killing and showing violent tendencies towards the others. Draw parallels to Haruka/Sailor Uranus.
Chapter 19. Why? You Never Win the Cursed War: Rei is expelled from Usagi's group due to her escalating violence and instability, leaving only Usagi and Ami. Michiru/Sailor Neptune and Yaten/Sailor Star Healer get into a disagreement and Michiru eventually leaves the trio.
Chapter 20. Do Not You Hear God's Voice: A 'divine' voice starts to speak to Yaten. In order to jumpstart and speed up her 'plan', Yaten sets out to kill all the 'ugly people'.
Chapter 21. Without Defiling My Beautiful World: Yaten stumbles onto Sailor Lead Crow and attacks her. Lead Crow manages to injure Yaten, who flees. Crow runs into Usagi and Ami and decides to stick with them.
Chapter 22. I Feel Myself Change Into: Usagi fights the madness threatening to overtake her and stars acting more like (Neo) Queen Serenity. She convinces Ami, who believes that she's expendable and worthless, that she's needed and important.
Chapter 23. Something Very Frightening: Rei continues to kill those she comes across as she falls deeper and deeper into madness, becoming worse than Haruka. Princess/Sailor Kakyuu starts to regain her pre-apocalypse goodness.
Chapter 24. GLORY: Despite her healing mental state, dark thoughts still plague Usagi's mind. They tell her to utterly destroy all the villains, heal the planet and be hailed by the (reborn) people of Earth.
Chapter 25. DECLINE: Chapter focusing on Mamoru and the Earth. Explain that the skies are dyed red with blood and the ground is black with the corpses of the dead. Introduce how Earth is shutting down and will eventually become a dead planet.
Chapter 26. DELUSION: Without Siren and Yaten to keep her grounded, Michiru succumbs horribly to loneliness. To appease it, she creates a make-believe world where everything is all right and she is the center of attention.
Chapter 27. ARROGANCE: Yaten manages to find a flower seed and plants it. She brags to Siren about it and Siren plays along. Yaten tries to take care of it, but the sprout eventually dies. Mysteriously, the flower blooms.
Chapter 28. SILENCE: Introduce Setsuna/Sailor Pluto, who has been watching from the sidelines up until now. She explains what has happened so far and what she could have done to prevent everything happening.
Chapter 29. ANGER: The appearance of Other Siren becomes more and more frequent. Siren becomes aware of her deteriorating mental health and attributes it to being around Yaten too often. Show some flashbacks about her and Mamoru's time together.
Chapter 30. MADNESS: Show more of the voice in Yaten's head and how it affects her. Explain the circumstances around Venus's death. Also show hints of Yaten's instability from before the Starlights' arrival on Earth.
Chapter 31. GLUTTONY: Revisit the encounter between Taiki/Sailor Star Maker and Chibiusa in full detail. On her own, Chibiusa is afraid and unsure what to do. Taiki finds Chibiusa and protects her, but Taiki eventually ends up dying.
Chapter 32. WRATH: Usagi's group stumbles upon Siren and Yaten. Siren tells Usagi that Mamoru is dead and who killed him. Usagi breaks down and goes on a rampage. Ami manages to talk Usagi down, who bursts into tears. Make sure to show the flower in Yaten's hair.
Chapter 33. PRIDE: Out of a warped sense of superiority brought by on by Chaos exposure, Haruka refuses to be good again. She thinks she can't fail and refuses to try to find Michiru after Michiru abandoned her.
Chapter 34. SLOTH: Nehellenia wants to rule the world, but she won't do anything to gain it. Despite her laziness, show hints of Nehellenia wanting to destroy Chaos. Rei finds her and Nehellenia is killed senselessly. Nehellenia laughs as the flames consume her.
Chapter 35. COMSUMPTION: Chaos gloats about the destruction of the world and how darkness is consuming all like wildfire. Chaos sets its sights on Rei and plans to corrupt and manipulate her.
Chapter 36. ENVY: Ami is envious of all the power that Usagi possesses and of her looks too. Siren is jealous of Yaten's relationship with Minako/Sailor Venus. Talk about the relationship between Mamoru and Siren and also of Ami's relationship with Usagi.
Chapter 37. LUST: Kakyuu clings to Haruka with desperation. Kakyuu confides in Haruka about her displeasure with violence and madness and how she's becoming good again. In response, Haruka kills her.
Chapter 38. GREED: Focus on Mamoru and his feelings about Setsuna's tendency to take those she cares about into the Time Gate with her. He is upset that she takes only her favorites (Chibiusa) and leaves the rest to die.
Chapter 39. Now the Fire Has Burnt Out: Rei and Haruka find each other and they fight. Michiru witnesses the fight and interrupts it. Haruka is surprised and while she's in shock, Michiru fatally wounds Haruka. Rei, also shocked, recovers quickly and starts an intense fire. Michiry kills Rei as well, but the fire still blazes on. Michiru stays with Haruka as she slowly dies and they are consumed by the fire.
Chapter 40. And What is Left is Built of Ice: A fight breaks out between Yaten and Lead Crow yet again, and Lead Crow sends a devastating attack towards Yaten. Siren pushes Yaten out of the way and is critically injured. In a final burst of power, Siren covers the entire battlefield with ice and ice spikes, killing both Mercury and Lead Crow, and injuring Usagi.
Chapter 41. This Sounds Like Heaven: Siren dies in Yaten's arms and Yaten falls even deeper into madness. She disassociates and envisions a perfect world despite the deaths of everyone close to her.
Chapter 42. I Vaguely Hear a Moan of Pain: Usagi tries to talk to Yaten and snap her out of her delusion, but Yaten doesn't notice. Heartbroken, alone and utterly shattered, Usagi can do nothing but cry.
Chapter 43. It's a Solemn Note: Yaten notices Usagi crying and gives her the flower that had mysteriously bloomed. Usagi takes it and soon it starts to glow. Both Yaten and Usagi are mesmerized by the beautiful flower. The 'divine' voice makes a reappearance and tells them how to save the world. Usagi and Yaten pour their healing energies into the flower, which bursts into a bright light that bathes the entire world.
Chapter 44. Epilogue: Luna jumps onto Usagi's face and wakes her up. Usagi shoots out of bed and notices that she's running late. She grabs toast for breakfast, says goodbye to her family and runs to catch the bus. She runs up the stairs to the Hikawa shrine and sees Minako, Makoto, Rei, Ami, Mamoru, Haruka, Michiru, Setsuna, Chibiusa and Hotaru. The End.
There we go! If anybody has any questions or wants me to explain more, I will happily clarify anything. I will also be going back and editing the chapters because I did not look at them when I posted, so that will be changed! Thank you all for reading and reviewing
