Title: New Blood of a Lost Age
A Halo/HTTYD Crossover
I know I know it's been a little while since my last chapter... well... 11 days. Anyways I'm back. I also noticed that there's another story recently added into this genre. I'd personally like to welcome Wolffury to the Halo/HTTYD sector and get the hell out of here. Nah I'm joking I've been recently reading it and it's seriously good (even better than this probably but maybe that's just me) so once you're finished here go and read all the chapters it's a great story and it's coming along nicely.
After rockin' out with some R.E.M, Pink Floyd, Dire Straits, Lynrd Skynrd and Ozzy Osbourne I think I'm ready to start this chapter plus I've been developing the spinoffs for this. Also please note there will be no Christmas mention in this story as it is unnecessary and doesn't fit with my story, but merry Christmas/Snoggletog from me anyway and enjoy yourselves if I don't see you again before.
Darksoul2142: You're making an assumption on the little information I have provided which is my fault but intentional. The Sangheili in my story are indeed from after the schism and they are portrayed as sneaky and people who would drink you under the table to gain information. The not of this time you referred to meant the era they were currently in i.e Viking.
There was a flurry of activity as troops ran everywhere in the hangar, rushing around collecting weapons moving themselves into position in front of their ships while being wary of the careful eyes of their field marshal watching each and every one of them from his position on the dais in the centre of the oblong hangar.
Raemus 'Volkor was quite old for an Elite. He was way past the voluntary retirement age for his species but he had a hard attitude. During his time he'd seen many fierce battles against the UNSC and losing all his closest comrades and his brother in arms had taken its toll, turning that once charismatic and very bright young man into an unexploded mine wrapped tightly in a cloud of loneliness and sorrow. He was by no means insane; just without mercy.
He approached the railing. "Out there is a world that is unaware of our existence. It is crude, primitive. But nevertheless ruthless, they have massive flying beasts that breath fire and can incinerate you within an instant with or without shields. The time to have ultimate faith in your brothers with your life is now." He paused, taking a deep breath. "For I have been instructed to warn you that once you are deployed you will not be returning to this ship until the UNSC fortress on the island has been destroyed." There were many shouts and cries from the troops assembled in front of their phantom drop ships, but most of those cries came from the Grunts. The Jackals weren't bothered, the Elites knew it would happen anyway and the Hunters just stood around and occasionally made rumbling noises to each other. "Okay then, that order was issued by the shipmaster, he told me to tell you that anyone who had a problem with it were invited to his quarters to tell him all about it." Everyone went deathly silent. Rtas 'Vadum hadn't lost his mind but was not going to tolerate people trying to undermine him, again. "Good. Enter your vessels and await the green light." Everyone started boarding their allocated ships. They were going to land on the farthest side of the island from Berk where they would insert in and take out the UNSC station first. There were 50 phantom drop ships with 25 carrying Elite Kill Teams specifically tasked with breaking down the advance guard from Berk, once a large enough space was cleared they would send in the 10 phantoms loaded with 4 Hunters each and 5 Wraiths. At the same time the Light Ascendancy would dispatch drop pods carrying more Hunters onto the docks where they would burn the wooden Viking boats and move up the island ind into the village where they were to go on a rampage and torch the whole place. The UNSC had a special name for it which was slash and burn, or S and B. The only objective is to burn everything in sight to the ground, houses, schools civilians, everything must burn. The Vikings along with their beasts will perish and the UNSC ship will be destroyed. Then they can glass the planet and cause a lot of havoc with the whole of time. Well, that was the plan.
"Cortana how long?" Lasky was in the war room leaning on the edge of a large table displaying a 3D map of Berk, the Indigo Terra and the Covenant destroyer.
"We have about twenty minutes until the destroyer is in attacking range of the ship, we need to send reinforcements to the base on Berk as well as setting up in the village. I've already tasked several units with that job."
"Okay, what about this ship?"
Cortana changed the 3D view on the table to an image of the Indigo Terra. "The fact that this ship is used mainly for experimentation means it has a thicker hull which will keep them out for most of the time. Weak points are being covered by Spartan teams, the medical bay is on stand-by and fireteam Blue Jay is ready to be scrambled when necessary. Science reports it will take another hour before the engine repairs are complete, if we're all still here."
Lasky couldn't help but smile at Cortana's dry sense of humour. "Of course we will be. This is cutting it a bit fine but make sure everything is set up in a maximum of fifteen minutes and get Berk ready to fight like hell when the Covenant arrives." He proceeded to walk back to his briefing room, as he walked out he heard Cortana's voice sound out.
"Aye Captain."
Stoick, Hiccup and Gobber were sat around the main table in the main hall on Berk with Toothless dozing softly under it.
"It was just... I dunno... metal inside. At first they were threatening but then they gave us our own room and oh the knowledge they had on their machine in there, it was incredible!" Hiccup tried to describe his bizarre encounters with the off-worlders in the sea when a villager burst through the door with a panicked look, making all 3 of them jump and waking Toothless up.
"Stoick! You better come and see this quick! There's a thing in the sky and the people from the water are landing on our island!" Stoick and the other two followed by Toothless ran after him and stopped at the top of the steps to the hall as they gazed at the purple object that was indeed hovering in the sky. It appeared to be about the same size as the one in the sea, but was much more rounded and had vertical fins at the back stretching above and below it. And sure enough the green objects that were on the ship at sea were flying all over the village. Men in suits were waving their arms and many objects they hadn't seen before were being dropped off. They proceeded down the stairs and towards the bottom of the village. Stoick approached a Spartan who was helping to move the barricades around into a strategic position.
"What's goin' here and why are you on my island?" Stoick asked.
The Spartan turned around to face him although Stoick couldn't tell his expression because of the helmet.
"Sir, it's the Covenant. We're fortifying your village with troops to try and save it from as much damage as we can."
Stoick's face became hard and serious, a look Hiccup had seen a lot of and was glad that it wasn't being aimed at him for once. "Alright, what can I do?"
"Get all the villagers into the forest and stay low there, make sure they have enough weapons and supplies to last for a while. Do not go near our base and don't get seen, the Covenant is mainly trying to get at us but now because we are near you you are in danger as well. The rest of your soldiers need to stay here with us. Any crossbows and other devices that launch things will be of a great help to us, also if you could get a team of dragons they'll come in handy when the ships carrying their troops move in." The Spartan saluted the four of them and then ran back to the marines he was helping a minute earlier.
Stoick looked to Gobber, then down at Hiccup. "Alright son, get your friends and their dragons ready, you heard what he said. We'll move as they move." Stoick and Gobber ran off to get themselves and the Viking warriors ready. Hiccup looked at Toothless.
"Let's go bud." Hiccup jumped on Toothless' back and they ran off to the Dragon Academy where the other teens were waiting.
What a good chapter that was eh? The tension is really heating up now.
Keep reading and reviewing.
Until the next time...
