~~~Teto's P.O.V~~~
"Is it just me, or were Rin and Len a little bit chummy last period?" I asked Ted, leaning closer to him with my book over my face as he sat down next to me, three or four books the size of my fist stacked high on the library floor. Just to explain why we're on the floor, we're on the second level of the school's library, and they don't have tables or chairs up here, so every day at lunch, we come up here and take a seat here in the fiction section, and eat, chat, and socialize with each other.
He nodded at my question, opening the plastic bag he uses to carry his lunch; a ham and cheese sandwich, and a bottle of apple juice. "They were pretty close, weren't they?" I nodded, leaning back against the bookshelf on the wall, before flipping the page of the book I was reading.
"I told you they were borderline flirting with each other for the past month, but did you listen? No. And now you've signed poor Rinny up for heartbreak and disappointment." I whined, crossing my arms across my chest, frowning at the thought of Rin crying her eyes out because of something stupid Len did.
"I wouldn't… technically be so sure of that, Teto." I looked at him confused, shivering lightly as he gave me a knowing smile and looked at me from under his eyelashes. I blinked a few times, trying to see if my mind was playing tricks on me, but sweet mother Teresa on the hood of a Mercedes Benz, it wasn't.
"Wh-why do you say that?" I asked, looking away from the sweetness that is Ted Kasane. If he gave me that smile from that angle all the time, I swear, I would have his children, all of them, no matter how many, just… just God.
"Didn't you see how flustered he was getting?" I thought back to the memory of watching the two flirting with each other, and, yes, the little rump nugget was getting a bit flustered when Rinny would say something to him. I nodded to Ted, watching as he shook his head fondly. "No one's been able to make Len that flustered in years. I'd say Len's met his match."
I hummed, turning back to my book, fingering the tip of the page as I scanned the words, processing them into my head before peeking at Ted as he took a bit of his sandwich. I smiled, bringing the book up to cover my lips, because, as silly as it may seem, Ted has an overbite, and it's the cutest thing I've ever seen, and just oh my club sandwich, is Ted the guy for me…
"Teto, are you sniffing that book?" I jolt as a blush covers my cheeks, and I looked over at Ted who has an amused look on his face, his lips come up on one side, and his eyes are shining with a 'wow.'
"I can guarantee it's not what it looks like." I said, putting a finger up, "And I could also probably explain it if you'd give me a minute or something."
"By all means; take however long you want, Teto." Get rid of that smexy half smile and maybe it won't take that long. I glared at him, wondering if he knew exactly what he was doing to me, hitting him half-heartedly on the shoulder when he started to chuckle into his hand.
"Meanie." I mumbled, mentally comparing him and Kyouya from Ouran HSHC, and let me just tell you, the similarities are adding up. After a minute of silence, I coughed a bit loudly into my hand, grabbing his attention. "So… how are things?" I asked awkwardly, playing with the corner of the page with my thumbs, having nothing to talk about.
"Things are good." Ted answers after swallow two or three gulps of his apple juice. "Things are great actually; I like getting and having things. Things are a nice gift for people, as well." I pouted as I realized what he was doing.
"You're having too much fun with this."
"Is it showing on my face?"
"What? No, only a lot." I giggled quietly as he bumped his shoulder into mine, chuckling lightly himself. I absolutely loved it when Ted laughed with me, not only because I have a crush on him, but also because it showed he actually had fun with me. I must have zoned out for a moment, because Ted was already reading a book, and I was suddenly close enough to read said book. I jolted away from him, watching him slide a little to the side, the look of shock on his face. "I'm sorry—"
"I was cozy." He whined over my apology, pulling me closer to him, letting the back of his shoulder lay on the front of mine before leaning back against me. I bite back a squeal of happiness as Ted continued his reading; it's a good thing he's looking away from me, because I had the stupidest smile on my face. I nested my chin on his shoulder, shaking my head a little, making Ted chuckle as my cheek hit his. "What are you doing?" he laughed.
"Being a Teto, duh." I said as I continued, "What're you doing?"
"Having my face assaulted, apparently." He said, moving closer to me, bumping his cheek with mine. We repeatedly bumped our cheeks together, laughing quietly until the librarian, who was returning books at the time, asked us what we were doing and we couldn't give her an answer. In the end, she shook her head and left, leaving Ted and I in a quiet fit of giggles.
Ted continued to lean on me, reading his book, while I silently read along with him, sipping at my boxed juice. 'Course, Ted's a fast reader, so he left me behind about five pages ago, so I just sat there pouting, and reached over to my bag to grab a cheese stick. Ya' see, I eat a cheese stick like you're supposed to eat it: you rip pieces of it from its side, and eat that, so whoever just bites into a cheese stick, I just want you to know that's a crime and you should be behind bars, dipshit.
I swear, that shit is divorce worthy…
Okay, maybe not on that large of a scale, but it's pretty much up there. Right next to killing someone's… cat, or whatevers.
"Teto, did you hear me?" Ted's voice breaks my thoughts, and I jolt as he leans up on his hands. I giggled as I rose with him, standing next to him as he gathers his stuff. "I said, it's time to go." I 'oh'd' and reached down to get my stuff as well, half-expecting Ted to be gone by the time I was done. "Ready to go?" he said, shocking me. He usually leaves when he finds out it's time to go, but now, for some reason, he's waiting for me.
"Um, yeah, sure." I answered as I grabbed the rest of my stuff and followed him down the stairs. We saw a bunch of students crowding around the door, and I thought there was a fight. I was sadly mistaken; they kids were socializing and being social with each other, rather than throwing punches.
"The librarian says we can't leave until the bell rings." Ted said, walking back up to me. I jumped, not noticing he even walked away from me in the first place. He nodded his head to an empty table close to the door and I followed him. For the next minute or so, we sat there and talked. Finally, the bell rang, and we stood to leave. Since Ted usually leaves before my stuff's gathered, I wasn't used to him walking me to class. "So, Teto," he said, getting my attention as he pulled one of his earphones of his ear. "Are you planning anything during winter break?" he asked.
Winter break was just one week, and that only included the week for Christmas. It was coming up soon, and with it only being a week, people were trying to plan things with their friends now. "I'm planning to celebrate." I answered finally, "Go over Rin's house one day, um, I'll probably just eat, sleep, and get fat for the rest." Why did I say that? Why in the world did I start ranting to Ted like that? And ended up saying something stupid? "I, er, well, I mean…"
He chuckled at my lost for words. "No, no, it's fine. I don't have anything to do during the break either." He said as we stopped in front of my class. I was about ready to find my desk and hit myself with it. As I slumped my way into the classroom, ready to throw myself out of the window, Ted stopped me, putting a hand on my shoulder. I looked at him curiously, he looked away from me, looking a bit nervously cute, but then looked at me with his usual neutrally happy face. "But you know, if anything should come up over the break," he slipped a piece of paper into my hand, "You should give me a call."
And just like that he walked off.
I was a little dumbstruck at first, slowly walking in the class, finding my seat and sitting down before opening up the paper. On it… was Ted's number. I got Ted's number. Ted Kasane. That Ted. I got his number… he gave me his number. The first smile of my life could not compare to the one on my face at that moment. I started to laugh, it started off small, but then it turned into full on maniacal laughter. I mean, it's because I know now. I totally know now.
Ted Kasane has the hots for me. Ted Kasane wants me like a man wants a woman. Ted Kasane probably sees me walking down the hallway and thinks 'I'd hit that.' And now that I know this, do you know what I'm going to do with it?
Nothing.
Because apparently maniacally laughing in the middle of class is wrong, and not welcomed in a school environment, and now I have an appointment with the councilor.
~~~Len's P.O.V~~~

Afterschool on Friday could not come fast enough for me.

I was anxious all throughout school; always looking at the clock, tapping my foot, I'd even unknowingly started chewing on the back of my pencil! I hadn't noticed until Rin pointed it out, but she called it cute as if it wasn't a bad habit. I shook my head of the thought, watching the crowd for Rin.

Sooner than later, she came running out, hand on her umbrella as she put it in her shoulder bag. She stopped in front of me, catching her breath, putting a hand on my shoulder, affecting me more than I wanted to admit. "S-sorry, stairs are not my friends." She complained, leaning against me more as she took a deep breath, huffing before standing up straight in front of me. "Ready!"

I nodded, taking hold of her hand unconsciously as I pulled her to the bus stop. "It's a good thing you came when you did, slacker, we could have missed the bus." I complained playfully, sending her a jokingly serious look. She giggled.

"And, what; missed the other six of them on this route? Yeah, Len, we wouldn't want that."

"Are you stealing my sarcasm? Because, quite frankly, every time you seem to say something sarcastic, I'm usually left with nothing to say." She rolls her eyes as the bus comes into view. "That eye roll says it all; I'm calling the police."

"Wow, what a girl thing to say, why not just take it back?"

"And have you call the cops on me in an awkward turn of events? Fuck no."

"Rats, my plans have been foiled." We laughed a little as we waited for the bus, and I decided to ask about the umbrella, "Oh, there's a chance of snow today, so, wall-a, umbrella."

I nodded my head before looking up at the sky, and yes, it did look like it was going to snow. "Wow, I looked at the weather report today and it completely went over my head it was going to snow."

"Well, if it does turn out to snow, I'll let you borrow my umbrella." She said smugly, putting her hands on her hips as if she had something over me.

"What's with that smug look, young lady?" I asked jokingly, and she giggled.

"I wouldn't want little miss can't-take-the-cold to caught one, would we?"

"Are you trying to be gentlemanly? Why thank you, kind sir, it'll be an honor."

"Jackbutt." I scoffed.

"Jackbutt?"

"Jackbutt." She nodded just as the bus pulled up in front of us, and she climb on first, taking the seat by the window. I sat next to her, making sure to lean my head against her so she slid to the window a bit. "Personal space much?" she complained lightly.

"You love me here, don't lie." She scoffed, but otherwise stayed there, even going so far as to lean her head against mine. I felt my cheeks warm a bit, but stayed were I was. The fact that she didn't deny it sent my heart hammering, but I tried to tell myself that I was reading too much into it.

.oOo.

"Awe, this is so cute." Rin cooed, binding over a little to get a better look at the couple necklaces. I looked at them, one had a chain was a silver color laces with a little pink in the engravings, the charm was a heart with a little keyhole in the middle, and next to that charm was another smaller charm with the words, 'Mine', in blue. The other had the same chain as the other one, but had blue engravings instead of pink, the charm on this one was a key, and next to it was a similar charm as the other necklace, except this one had was pink. "I'd love to get this."

I searched for the price, and frowned, not because it was too expensive, it was two bucks. "Why would you want these?" I said with dissatisfaction in my voice. She looked at me, puzzled, standing up straight before blinking at me in confusion.

"Why wouldn't I want these?" she asked, silently asking me what's wrong. I couldn't buy her a two dollar gift for Christmas; my mom has a personal minimum of five dollars for a Christmas gift, even if she did like it. Well, I was taking her out to eat too, but still…

"They're two dollars." I said, frowning even more as she took my hand in hers. Who'd be satisfied with a two dollar gift as a confession gift? That's just rude.

"The price doesn't matter." She giggled, shaking her head lightly as she begun to explain, "If it were me, I wouldn't care about the price of the gift, as long as the person took time out of their day to get me something that they think I'd like it is enough." my lips feel opened in shock as she said that, and I squeezed her hand as she continued. "I'd rather have something sentimentally valuable that cost a little than something that's brought without meaning to it. Isn't that what Christmas is all about anyways."

"Really?"

"I mean, yeah, as long as it comes from the heart and not just a three second decision at the dollar store, you know?"

Without really thinking, I leaned forward to capture her lips for a moment, a quick peck actually, before moving back and watching as her cheeks flare red as I smiled fondly at her. "You're absolutely right." I pulled her along, she stumbled a bit, still shocked that I kissed her so out of the blue, but soon caught herself, gripping my hand tightly. "Let's go buy that present for my mom now, okay?" she nodded.

"Okay." I entertwined our fingers togetherbefore walking around more. I had to say, this is the most fun I've ever had with a female during Christmas time. I love seeing the excited look on Rin's face as she looked at the decorations, and stuff being sold.

I can't wait until Christmas.

.oOo.

Awe, isn't Rin just the cutest? Anyways, happy New Years everyone! I hope we all left those bad feelings and memories in the past! How'd you guys spend your holiday?
