Hey guys! I ddidn't get to update last week because my cat broke his pelvis because he got hit by a car. And the driver didn't even stop to tell us that he was the one that hit him. My parents don't know who it is that hit him, but they are a bit angry about it. Anyways, he has three months to recover and he has to be taken care of in that length of time. So that will probably be the reason why I won't update. But here is the chapter that you've all been waiting for.

Clary gets her memories back. Yaay!

CHAPTER 17: FORGOTTEN MEMORIES

CPOV

The room was filled with of potions, books and other things.

On a table lay the Book of the White, the most powerful spellbook a warlock could get his hands on.

The cottage lay deep in a remote area in a forest. It had once belonged to a witch during the Salem Witch Trials. But the witch had been captured and burnt at the stake. But not before she cast a spell to glamour it as a burnt down cottage that now lay in ruins.

Inside, Clary lay on the sofa, her fiery red hair spread out around her head, while Magnus cast an incantation on her, in a language she didn't understand.

Clary was getting her memories back, and then she'd know how to fight, and she'd know more about the Shadow World.

She felt both nervous and excited.

Suddenly she was plunged into darkness, as the spell started to bring back the memories she thought she'd lost.

As soon as Clary's eyes shut, she found herself watching her eleven year old self, like a spectator.

The eleven year old Clary was in Central Park, on her own sitting on a bench, when she caught sight of a young boy with jet black hair and striking blue eyes.

The boy was alone, and Clary felt sorry for him.

The eleven year old Clary walked straight up to him and sat down beside him.

"Where are your friends?"Clary asked curiously.

The boy jumped, startled. Then he turned to look at her, his blue eyes wide with surprise.

"You can see me?" The boy asked.

Clary giggled. "Of course I can, silly!" She said.

"But your a mundane!" The boy replied in disbelief.

"What's a-" Clary began to ask, but was interrupted.

"Clary!" A voice shouted.

Clary looked up to see her mother walking towards her, her eyes wide with panic as she looked at the other boy that Clary was talking to.

"What's wrong mom?" Clary asked.

"Come on!" Jocelyn's vioce was firm as she dragged a confused Clary away from the boy.

As Clary sent an apologetic look at the boy staring after her, she could of sworn she saw a mark of an eye on his right hand.

Suddenly the memory fadednto a new one. This time it was a six year old Clary, and she was in the apartment with her mom, who was holding a seraph blade, while Clary held a wooden sword.

"It's not to be used as a toy, Clary. It's a weapon," Jocelyn was explaining to her.

Jocelyn showed Clary different techniques with the seraph blade while Clary held the wooden sword in her hand, all the while Jocelyn was explaining to her about different weapons and how to use them, also reminding her that they were very dangerous.

"Anything can be a weapon, Clary, not just a sword or your body. A pencil can be a weapon, a shard of glass, et cetera. Anything, " Jocelyn told her.

The memory faded again, revealing Clary as an eight year old.

Clary was standing in front of a sparkly man. His hair was in spikes, and he was covered from head to toe in glitter.

Jocelyn was also there.

"This is Magnus Bane, Clary. He's a friend of mine," Jocelyn told Clary.

Clary shyly took Magnus' hand in hers and shook it.

Magnus grinned at her.

Then he turned towards Jocelyn.

"Jocelyn, what's the point of teaching her about the Shadow World and training her, when your ordering me to take her memories away every year?" Magnus asked, his yellow cat eyes glaring at Jocelyn.

"I told you, Valentine might find out that two mundanes know about the Shadow World, and I'll be found out. Also, if he does find out, she'll be able to fight him if she gets her memories back," Jocelyn said.

Magnus sighed. "That's a big if."

"Mommy, who's Valentine?" Clary asked.

"Nobody darling," Jocelyn answered.

This time Clary is fourteen, and her and her mother are sparring hand to hand combat.

Clary blocks every punch her mom throws at her, jumps away from every leg sweep her mom does to catch Clary off guard. And dodges every surprise attack. Clary is perfect at her fighting skills now.

Suddenly Clary grabs Jocelyn's arm and flips her over her shoulder, then she spins around and straddles her, pinning her arms above her head, and holding her legs down with her knees.

"I win!" Clary says smugly.

More memories come back to Clary, ones that seemed like normal mundane memories were actually not mundane, they had been part of the Shadow World, except Clary had forgotten she'd seen them after only a couple minutes.

For six hours, Clary lay on the couch, her memories that she had thought never even existed coming back to her.

Clary remembered everything.

JPOV:

Jace drew the Rune of Tracking on his hand, the thread from Clary's coat fisted in his hand.

He closed his eyes, searching for Sebastian.

He saw himself standing with his back facing Sebastian. Sebastian was standing behind him with an amused smirk on his face.

Jace opened his eyes and whirled around.

"Hello, little brother," Sebastian said, still with that sick smirk.

Jace wanted to wipe it off his face.

"I'm no brother of yours!" Jace snapped.

"Your right, your not my brother. But we were brought up by the same man," Sebastian said.

Jace lunged at him, but with lightening speed Sebastian kicked him in the stomach, sending him sprawling on the grass a few metres away.

Jace groaned, but managed to grab his seraph blade.

Sebastian walked up, kicked the blade out of reach and grsbbed Jace by the collar.

"You and I aren't related by blood, but Clarissa and I are," Sebastian said with a sick grin.

Jace felt rage surge through him, and without warning, Jace flung his fist at Sebastian's face, happy when he heard a satisfying crunch when his nose broke.

Sebastian howled in pain.

Jace took a couple steps back,.

"Only by blood. But not by friendship, or trust," Jace spat.

Sebastian swung a punch in Jace's face, but Jace ducked and kicked out at Sebastian's legs.

As Sebadtian fell to the ground, he grabbed the sleeve of Jace's jacket, and pulled him down too.

Sebastian flipped them over.

"Didn't know you went for that team, man. Pity I don't though," Jace said in mockery.

Sebastian rolled his eyesvand punched Jace in the face, knocking him out.

The last thing Jace heard was Sebastian's smug voice saying, "That will shut him up."
