Hey guys! School has been a total pain! We've been getting a ton of homework lately and we also have end of year exams coming up, which means I won't be able to update much.
So here is chapter 18.
Sebastian's POV
Sebastian smiled as he wrote the fire message to Clarissa:
You better find a way to save your precious Jace, because he's my sacrifice to raise the Angel Raziel. Also, dear sister, tell your friends to prepare for the demons I'm sending out to kill all the Shadowhunters in Idris.
Earlier, he'd sent a fire message to the Clave, telling them that they better be ready to for his swarm of demons.
He knew the Clave wouldn't agree to having Downworlders allying with them against him, not after what happened during the Uprising his father had caused.
She'll come, even though she knows she's going to die.
Sebastian heard a groan from behind him.
Ah, he's awake.
Sebastian had tied Jace up, so he wouldn't be able to move.
Sebastian turned to face Jace, who now had a black eye from the punch he'd given him earlier.
"Tied me up, huh? Afraid I'll beat the crap out of you if I'm let loose?" asked Jace, a smirk tugging his lips up.
"You think too much of yourself, Jace. You'll never be as good as me," Sebastian told him.
"Isabelle and Alec say I think of myself too much as well," Jace replied, his golden eyes staring at Sebastian with amusement and a hint of anger.
Sebastian rolled his eyes.
"Clarissa is coming soon, to save you. And to die. Amazing isn't it, that you'd give up your life to save hers, and she'd do the same too?" Sebastian taunted.
The other boy choked. "What do you mean "she's coming"?"
CLARY'S POV
When Clary arrived back in Idris, the first person that she talked to was Isabelle.
Isabelle had been frantically searching for her, along with Simon, to apologise to her.
"Isabelle! It's okay! Magnus cast a spell on me to bring my memories back. My mom taught me how to fight ever since I was 5 or 6. I'm a professional Shadowhunter now! Ha," Clary told her with a grin on her face.
They were back in Amatis' house, in the kitchen. Clary was eating waffles.
That's when the note came.
"Oh crap!" Clary breathed.
"What?" Izzy asked.
"Jace is in trouble!" Clary murmered.
Izzy's face went pale. "We have to help him!" she said.
"Sebastian is also sending demons into Idris. He must be breaking down the Wards again," Clary murmered half to herself.
"Let me get Jocelyn and Amatis. They'll probably tell the Clave,"Isabelle said.
They definitely need to ally with the Downworlders now.
Suddenly an image flashed behind Clary's eyelids, and she knew what to do.
Grabbing her stele, she left to go to the Accords Hall.
She ran and ran until she felt like her lungs were about to explode.
When she finally got to the Accords Hall, people were arguing about whether they should let the Downworlders join the Shadowhunters against the demons Sebastian was sending out.
There was a microphone at the stage, and nobody was standing there.
Clary felt her legs moving towards it involuntarily, her heart pounding in her chest.
She'd never been much of a public speaker, but now was her chance to convince the Clave to let the Downworlders ally with Shadowhunters.
She found herself staring at around two thousand Shadowhunters.
She scanned the crowd, searching for Luke, and when their eyes met, Luke's face was one of surprise.
People finally saw her, and when they did, they started speaking in hushed whispers.
She could nearly guess what they were all saying.
Something along the lines of; that's her, Valentine's daughter. The Morgenstern child. She's probably exactly like her father.
She rose her chin in the air, plastering on her face a confident smile. "Yes, its true. i am Valentine Morgenstern's daughter. But I am nothing like him. It was only a few weeks ago that I found out that he was my father. That I found out I was a Shadowhunter. I know some of you might not believe me, but it's true, and I know what Sebastian's plans are. Valentine's dead. But my brother isn't, and for all I know he could be even more ruthless than Valentine ever was. Valentine wanted to wipe out the Downworlder population, but Sebastian is planning on wiping the whole population out. Humans, vampire, werewolves, fairies, witches, warlocks and even Shadowhunters. So if you just ally with the Downworlders y-"
"Nonsense!" Malachi cried, his face going red as a tomato.
"Please just let me explain! I can create new Runes, because I have extra angel blood. If you don't believe me let me show you, " Clary protested.
She grabbed her stele, and closed her eyes. A Rune flashed behind her closed eyelids. She began to draw.
When she drew the rune, she heard many gasps. Names were being called out, and she new she had proven herself.
"So do you believe me?" she called out.
Murmers ran through the crowd. The rune had illusioned her into looking like the dead loved ones Shadowhunters had lost.
"I do!" a voice yelled from the back of the crowd.
It was Jocelyn.
People turned around.
"So do I," Luke said.
"And I," Izzy said, her face glaring at the crowd, challenging people to say no, that this was all a lie, that Clary couldn't make new runes.
But no one did. Instead, they all yelled "I believe you!" and "I do!" at Clary.
Clary, feeling nervous now that the adrenaline was fading, smiled at them all.
"Are you going to ally with Downworlders to defeat Sebastian's demons, or are you going to deny Downworlders joining you?" Clary spoke again.
Murmers of yeses ran through the crowd, and Clary spoke again, "I have an Alliance Rune for Shadowhunters and Downworlders to bind their strength and power together. Each one of you can pick a Downworlder to ally with in battle, and you could be as strong as a Downworlder is. If you will let me, I can draw the Rune on you all."
Later, the Downworlders were allowed in, and Clary drew the rune of Alliance on a couple Shadowhunters and Downworlders, after proving it with Simon and Isabelle and Luke and Jocelyn, they all agreed with putting on the Rune.
When they were done applying Runes to each other, it was dark.
Clary looked around for Isabelle or Simon, but instead found a dumbfounded Maryse and Robert staring at Alec and Magnus kissing.
Despite her worry about the battle with the demons, and finding Jace, Clary couldn't help but grin at Alec and Magnus.
Suddenly a loud bang was heard from outside, and Shadowhunters were piling outside the Accords Hall, trying to see what was going on.
Someone near Clary gasped and said the word Clary dreaded: demons.
The next chapter will be better, I think.
