CHAPTER 19: BATTLES AND BARGAINS

Clary

spun around and kicked the spiderdemon in the face, grinning as she slid under its stomach, tearing it's skin open with her seraph blades.

She understood why Isabelle and Jace called demon hunting "fun". The adrenaline rush, the feeling of getting high, she loved it!

"Clary!" Magnus' voice rang across the battlefield.

Clary spun around and looked towards the direction of where Magnus was.

A blue, shimmering Portal, was open on a wall. Magnus was trying to keep it open while fighting two demons at the same time.

Clary ran at them. As soon as she was behind them, she kicked one of them in the back.

It snarled at her, while the other tried to punch her in the face.

"Hurry up, Clary!" Magnus yelled, getting frustrated.

Clary unwinded her silver and gold whip from her wrist, and lashed it against one of the demons' skin.

Almost as soon as the whip touched it, it burst into flames.

The other demon, which was a cross of a frog and a snake, hissed at her.

Clary lashed the whip across his face, and it also burst into flames.

What about the others?

Magnus seemed to notice her hesitation, because he quickly grabbed her shoulders, and turned her towards the Portal.

"They'll be fine. Your mother was a very skilled fighter, and so was Luke," Magnus reassured her.

"But-"

"Go!" Magnus yelled, pushing her through the Portal just as a demon leapt at him.

Clary had had hardly any time to visualise the cottage when she fell through the Portal.

JPOV

Jace had been brought onto Lake Lynn by Sebastian, who had tied him up with a Rune, then beat him to a pulp.

Now, Sebastian was waiting for Clary to arrive.

After about an hour, Sebastian smiled a mean, cold smile.

"She's here," he said.

Jace's heart sank.

He didn't want her here. Didn't want her to get hurt.

He wanted Sebastian to fight him like a proper man, not have him tied up and vulnerable.

He tasted something metallic in his mouth, and spat it out.

It was his own blood.

"So what's your plan? Huh? You gonna leave me all defenceless until she arrives, and then bait me?" Jace taunted

him.

"Actually, that's exactly what I was going to do," Sebastian told him.

All of a sudden, another explosion was heard in the sky, and more demons came.

Jace stared at the chaos in disgust.

How could someone want to lay destruction all over the world? How can someone want to rule it?

Jace could hear the faint sound of battle far off in the distance. He wondered is Isabelle and Alec would make it out alive.

He hoped they would.

CPOV

Clary's body hit the wooden floor with a thud.

She grunted in pain.

She began to get up, when two demons grabbed her arms.

"Massster wantss to sssee you," one of them hissed.

She went limp, knowing that if she killed them, she'd probably never find Jace and Sebastian.

The two on demons handed her off to a winged demon. She didn't get a proper look at it, since it spun her around and flew her towards Lake Lynn.

Once it set her on the ground, she spun around and drove her seraph blade into its heart.

When it disappeared, she heard the sound of clapping.

Slowly, she turned around.

"Hello, little sister," Sebastian said.

"Where's Jace?" Clary demanded.

Sebastian pointed towards the ground near the edge of the lake.

She could see golden hair, but that was it.

"Jace!" Clary cried, running towards him.

She felt a pair of strong arms wrap around her waist, and she elbowed Sebastian in the stomach.

He grunted, and let go of her.

She gave him a round house kick, and punched him in the nose.

As she swung her fist at him again, Sebastian grabbed it in his own fist, then he twisted her arm behind her back.

She cried out as pain shot through her arm.

"If you ever want Jace to stay alive, or anyone you love for that matter, you better listen!" He hissed into her ear.

Alright. How did that go? If anyone has any ideas, please send them to me. I might be able to put them in here.

I meant to write last week, but it was sunny here in Ireland (which is quite unusual out here) and we had sports day and I had to get my uniform for secondary school.

And then I meant to write two days ago, but I hurt my back.

I got Divergent btw! Its great! And I got CoHF as well. It has over 700 pages. Wow!
