AUTHOR: Sorry for the hiatus on this story. . .
The Charmander and Clefairy babbled like parrots about things that made no sense to the rest of the team (and Green, but she was human. . .). Green heaved up a ladder, only to fall right off when a guy in black fell down from the top floor.
"It softens mine thanks," he mumbled.
Green got up in a daze and rubbed her head where she hit it on the ladder. She whimpered, "Uh, you're welcome?" Then she noticed his black clothes and the red "R" on his shirt. "Hey, you're one of those suspicious folks from earlier!"
The suspicious boy shook his head violently, "The suspects?! I have not been distrusted of! They are suspects!" He pointed at Green and high-tailed it back up the ladder, screeching, "Leader! Leader! I should guarantee!"
"What does that mean?" Green questioned. "Did he just call me a suspect?"
She climbed up the ladder, much more careful than earlier. When she got up, she yanked up her Pokémon, one by one. As she pulled up Wander, she noticed the gang of boys in black standing around her like soldiers. They were unsettling. Each one was exactly like the other, down to the smallest detail.
"Oh," she answered.
"The team strives to be safe! Waiting further instructions!" they chanted. Their voices were alike, too. When they spoke, it sounded like a single person talking very, very loudly.
A boy only slightly different stepped out. He taunted, "Wow, wow, wow. You are a girl?"
"Yes, my name is Green."
"Green? Funny name. You want Pet war?" he asked. It sounded like a challenge. He wanted a Pokémon battle?
"Yes, I'll battle you!"
He scoffed, "Winner keep loss's Pet."
Green's eyes widened. "Are we betting on our Pokemon? Can we have it so that the other can just leave without a scratch?"
The leader of the gang shook his head. "Why not: If you win, you can go, it's not causing any harm. If I win, I'll get all Pet, I'm sure it will be very, very expensive shop. . ." he threatened.
The team of Pokemon looked at each other with worry and chirped protests to their trainer.
"You're on!" Green confirmed.
Wander fell over. His new Clefairy friend fanned him with her hands.
The leader clapped his hands twice. In unison, each of the members of the gang took out a Pokeball and wordlessly sent out a Pokémon. In total, there were two Rattata, an Ekans, three Zubat and a Sandshrew. The leader sent out a Raticate. It hissed loudly.
Now Mabel fell over.
"This is nice," Pearl huffed.
The leader clapped again. Each of the Pokemon flew towards the Pokemon and the girl.
Green ordered, "Hater, Thunder Wave!"
Within seconds, most of the Pokemon were on the ground, sparking and twitching. The Raticate was unaffected and hissed before launching at Pearl. Hater picked up the Metapod and flung her at Raticate. It bonked the rat creature right on the head. Pearl landed neatly on the ground, watching as the rodent Pokemon slid on the floor.
The twin Rattata shook to their feet. They launched at a high speed at Wander. Wander ignored the attack and held up some marshmallows for them. The Rattata stopped in their tracks and sniffed the confections suspiciously. He smiled and used Ember on the puffy candy for them. The Charmander looked confused as the twins collapsed to the ground with charred faces.
Ekans slid over to Pearl and coiled around her. Mabel noticed this and pounded the snake in the head. It fell over and loosened it's grip on the cocoon Pokemon.
The Zubat trio flew around, biting Pokemon in the arms at inappropriate times. It slowed them down, letting the Raticate take them down. The rodent picked up Pearl and held her in it's large teeth.
"Any closer and the bug gets it!" it warned. The fighting ceased, but Pearl stared into space with worry.
Hater got a brilliant idea and gestured to Mabel with his tail. She stared in confusion. He sighed and waved his arms around as if dancing. Mabel understood.
The Clefairy wobbled about as if drunk and blew a raspberry.
Raticate observed, baffled. It let it's jaw droop, loosening the Metapod just enough.
Lord Hater struck the rodent in the back of the head. It fell over, twitching from the electric shock.
"Let's go!" Green shouted, scooping up Pearl and dashing away from the scene of the crime.
"Priceless fossils is ours!" the leader shouted.
"Fossils?" Green questioned.
Suddenly, her arms felt heavy. She glanced down. Was Pearl was evolving again?
The green mass went white a moment before sprouting wings and antennae. When the glowing ceased, she was holding a Butterfree.
"Someone's patience has been rewarded," Green smiled. "Now, who's ready to get those fossils they mentioned?"
"Yes, but why wanna do that?"
