Don't kill me. Just wait until the end of the chapter to hear my apology… then kill me.
Chapter 6: Free Shipping and Handling
Two weeks had past, and Kagami still couldn't get over the fact that Kuroko has not come to school.
After their special night together, Kuroko had been acting strange. He didn't say good morning to him, no kiss on the cheek, nothing whatsoever. He thought that the blunette didn't care about him anymore. It was either that or something out of the ordinary happened when they were sleeping.
"Kagami Taiga?"
"Present," he said dully.
"Aida Riko?"
"Here!"
"Hyuuga Junpei?"
"Present."
"Kuroko Tetsuya?"
The room was filled with an awkward silence. Their silent and practically, non-existent classmate had been absent for almost two weeks, and the teacher was growing impatient.
"It seems that I'll have to call his house this afternoon," he sighed. "This is getting out of hand. Anyways, everybody open your English textbooks and turn to page one hundred and thirty-five. Please start reading silently."
"Guys, quiet down! I have an announcement to make," Aida Riko shouted.
The Seirin basketball team had gathered outside the gym after school for practice, but unfortunately that didn't seem to be the case.
"I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, so practice is canceled. I haven't been eating my vegetables lately and my dad noticed… so, yeah," Riko muttered, her cheeks turning red at the thought of her hidden stash of candy under her bed.
"I have a joke for that," Izuki noted while putting his hand up.
"Nobody wants to hear it!" Hyuuga shouted, veins popping out of his forehead. "Let's head home, guys."
They collected their belongings and went their separate ways, saying their goodbyes.
Kagami was about to cross the street when he noticed that Riko tugged his sleeve. She eyed him carefully before saying, "You and I need to talk. Meet me at the cafe across Haru street at 6. Do not be late."
Kagami whimpered internally and bowed rapidly, watching his coach walk off. He could see her smiling, though he could sense the murderous aura that was surrounding her.
'What does she want to talk to me about?' he thought to himself. "It's not like I did anything wrong… right?'
"Tetsuya, oh Tetsuya, where art thou, my beloved Tetsuya," Akashi wondered evilly as he came home from Rakuzan. He dropped his bag on the floor and went straight to bathroom.
He closed the door furiously and looked at himself in the mirror with disgust. "I'm not one for self-admiration, but I do suppose that I could go for a haircut…"
"Honey, there's a package outside on the porch!" a voice said.
A young lady by the name of Kuroko Azumi threw her magazine to the ground and raced down the flight of stairs, rushing to where her husband, Kuroko Eiji, was calling from. She went outside and saw that a huge brown package had been placed at their doorstep.
"What do you think's inside? It has to be something pretty big," she laughed, walking to her husband's side.
Eiji picked up the box and carried it inside the house (like a man) while Azumi locked the door.
The male Kuroko took a letter opener from the living room drawer and pried the box open, his wife hopping in excitement. "I can't wait to see what's inside the box!" she squealed.
"Then close your eyes! It'll be more of a surprise that way," her husband advised.
She did as he said and ran around the house, trying to calm herself down. "Call me when you're done opening the package!" Azumi shouted from upstairs.
Eiji rolled his eyes. He continued at his task when he noticed that the box started to move. He stepped back cautiously and gasped when the inner packaging tore into scraps by itself.
"Dear, get over here right now because some weird crap is going on! Something's alive!"
The sound of footsteps thundering throughout the house met him at the dining table. Azumi could've sworn her heart skipped a beat when she recognized a face that she hadn't seen for two years. She smiled internally, though her face was filled with complete confusion.
"T-Tetsuya?"
"O'kasan…"
