Hermione woke up very early the next morning. She usually did not wake up so soon, but she was really very excited to meet her friends and professors. She couldn't wait to get to Platform 9 and 3 quarters. She couldn't go to sleep once again because of the excitement that was building up inside her. She went down to the kitchen to make herself a cup of hot chocolate.
Her question kept bothering her since yesterday. 'WHO WAS THE HEAD BOY?' She shrugged and thought, "I'll find out today, anyhow."
And of course she completely astonished at Malfoy's behavior. She honestly thought that both Harry and Ron had been dreaming.
Suddenly, the kitchen door was opening. Hermione's mother stood in front of the door. She came over to Hermione and asked, "Is there a problem dear? You're not usually up so early." She looked very worried. "It's nothing mum." Hermione waved it off. Her mother loved too much. "Then why are you up so early?" "It's nothing mum." She replied. "I just couldn't sleep as I was so excited to get back to Hogwarts." Her mother just smiled and shook her head at her.
After a while, Hermione was ready to leave. She hugged and kissed both of her parents. "I'll miss both of you so much." She said. "Don't worry about it sweetie. Just concentrate hard on your studies. I'm sure you'll do great as always." Her father said. Her mom nodded. "Yes Hermione. You just concentrate on your studies as well as your Head duties. Write to us regularly." "Sure mum!" she replied and kissed both of them once again.
Sometime later, Hermione was standing at Kings Cross looking for the Weasleys and Harry Potter. They had agreed to meet in front of the station. As she thought of the Weasleys, her thoughts drifted to Ron. She actually had a bit of a crush on him during their second and third years. From Ron, her thoughts took her to the Head Boy, whose name still remained a mystery. She just hoped it would be someone who understood her well and someone got along really well with her. Altogether, she did not want someone like Malfoy to be the Head Boy. He was unbearable. He was perfectly irritating especially because of his trademark Malfoy smirk, the one that always appeared on his face when he had made some kind of achievement or insulted someone. She was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts by the arrival of the Weasleys and Harry.
Her face, that currently looked daggers at Malfoy's thought, immediately lit up and became merry and cheerful upon seeing her best friends. "Harry! Ron! How are you? It's been so long since I saw you. I missed you both so much!" "Hey Mione!" Ron said. She was then bombarded by questions from both of them.
"Is your health alright now?" Ron asked.
"Hey! Did you read my letter?" Harry asked.
"Yeah. Malfoy was really acting off the hook." Ron said.
"Yeah. I was completely in shock when Harry and Ron told me and I have still not recovered." Ginny Weasley said. Hermione had not even noticed she was present.
"I'm sure some insect laid eggs in his brain and now he's mad." Harry said.
"Herms? Did you read my letter?" Ron asked, turning to her from his conversation with Harry,
Hermione laughed at her friends' conversation. "Let me answer your questions. First, Yes I am in perfectly good health now. Second, Yes, I read both your letters. They were pretty interesting."
"Hermione don't you think Malfoy was acting really odd?" Harry asked.
She was about to reply, but she was cut short by . "Now, now, dears. We simply must get to the platform or we'll miss the train. Come on, you can discuss all about the Malfoy boy once you're on the train."
They all silently obeyed her and began to move. They did not want her to flare up. Molly Weasley was really frightening when she was angry. Hermione, realizing that she had still not greeted Molly, said, "Hello . How are you?" "I'm very well dear." Was the response.
She walked with Harry and Ron. She wondered what the day had in store for her. She desperately wanted to find out about the Head Boy, but she had to wait. There was no way she could find out now.
