Chapter 18 time fight
Chris wakes up in the hall of Heroes medical bay and climbs to his feet seeing everyone standing around him "what happend out there" he asks
"We just wernt strong enough to beat them" Danny says
"Yeah we got creamed " tommy says
"Damn it why is he doing this." Chris shouts angrily " all of this because I was chosen as the twin to stop the dark master"
"Well maybe there's a way to change that" selphitia says from the doorway
"And how exactly" tori asks
"The wormhole" Chris says " but zordon told me never to use it no matter what happens there's no way to control where you end up."
"If I am right it will send you through your own timeline Chris one year at a time meaning"
"Meaning I'm gonna encounter everyone here backwards" Chris says thoughtfully before nodding. "Ok let's do it if I can make it back to eltar before I was chosen maybe I can get the high council to change there minds"he says.
Selphitia nods "yes but you are going to have to find the wormholes in every time and don't forget Chris any action you do will change your memories there's a chance you won't survive."
"I know but hey if I don't the war will be over no me no dark master and we will all have never met of course if I do it you guys won't know me as a ranger just brets brother" he says. "Ok open the door selphitia"
Selphitia nods and presses a rock In the wall showing a purple vortex waiting for him
"So this is how your going back" tori says "I can't picture my life without you"
"If I do this there will be no me only bret and if you can fall in love with me you can fall in love with him right" he says his forehead resting against hers as the others busy themselves elsewhere
She nods. " if this works hell be you and you'll be him how do we know you won't have our powers" she asks
"We don't it's a risk we have to take but remember that I'm not him and I love you" he says
"I love you to" she says before his hands rest softly on the sides of her head his lips meeting hers before he pulls away stepping back through the vortex ."is there no way we can track him" she asks
"I'm afraid not as of now Chris is on his own" selphitia says.
Falling through the blackness is all Chris sees and feels before slamming onto his feet in the industrial plant in reef side. He looks around and sees tommy Trent conner Ethan himself and kira appear. " of course this is the last fight with mesagog" he says as a slight headache starts. "Something's wrong" he says looking around before seeing a man wrapped in black bandages wearing a gold ninja garb "ok he's differnt " he says as the newcomer beckons him over. Chris stays low so his past self and rangers don't see him and follows the man. "Ok as far as I remember you wernt here last time who are you"
"I am veramax the vortex guardian I know why you are here gold ranger" he says
"Then you know why I have to be here" he says
"Yes and to protect the timelines I am here to stop you if you stop yourself from be comeing who you are you may destroy everything." Veramax says
"And if I don't my brother will"
Veramax shakes his head " I see theis must be decided in battle defeat me and your next portal will be opend" he says
"If that's what it takes that's what I'll do" Chris says getting ready noticing his dino gem on his wrist but instead of free it's gold and smiles. "Dino thunder power up" he calls his dino ranger suit appearing over him but in gold not green and the headache getting slightly worse. "Damn someone saw me" he says.
The gold ranger charges at Veramax bringing a knee up into his face and spinning a back kick into his side jumping back a bit he smiles under his helmet beckoning the time warrior over for more. Veramax growls pulling out a staff and throwing it in Chris' direction the gold ranger catches the staff and throws it back the pointed tip piercing straight through him as veramax falls to his knees he laughs.
"You can't beat me gold ranger as you continue on this path I will get stronger as you weaken you will never reach your goal" he says before turning into the vortex
"That's a risk I have to take" Chris says stepping into the vortex continuing on his quest. With Each ranger team he encounters Veramax and with each fight his headache worsens and his strength weakens and veramax gets stronger untill he finally fall through the last vortex landing hard on his back in the hall of the high council of eltarians. The exhausted warrior struggles to his feet and sees them standing there "elders of eltar at last" he says his head feeling like it will explode. I've come from the future I need to ask you not to choose Chris as your chosen one to find the delta crystal. The future may depend on it"
"If what you say is true where is the time keeper" one asks
"I am here" a voice says as a portal opens and the warrior appears. "This warrior speaks the truth"
The elders nod "for your request to be accepted you must defeat yourself"
Chris nods "how can infighting myself"
"Time keeper remove your bandages"
Chris looks as veramax's bandages fall and reveals himself as Chris. "What the fuck" Chris says looking at him
"I am you gold ranger and now beat me and the timelines change there is a very good chance you will die from the transition"
"as long as this stops what's happening I don't care" chris says as the pair run at each other chris swings at veramax who ducks punching the exhausted ranger in the gut knocking the wind put of him as chris falls to his knees clutching his stomach veramax kicks him across the face causing him to slide across the floor. As the time keeper walks over to him chris rolls onto his back and flips to his feet his muscles screaming in pain as he brings his foot up kicking veramax in the face and charging after him bringing a quick succession of punches and kicks into the man finishing with an uppercut causing veramax to hit the ground and warp into the vortex
"We will do as you request this vortex will take you home if you survive the trip"
Chris nods "thank you" he says stepping into the vortex the pain in his head getting worse as he falls through the blackness before he loses consciousness
