Chapter 5:

McGonnagal raced into our dorm, hair unravelling from her bun and clothing flying everywhere around her body. "Whats the matter, boys?"

I looked up from Fred's shivering and shaking body and through my tears to look at McGonnagal. "Professor... He's been having these nightmares, these horrible nightmares, and been taking these pills and having all these mood swings and I think he's addicted and now he's had a nightmare while he's awake and its driving me insane and I need help." I felt even more tears run down my face as her face went from a set of deep worry to a look of alarm and horror.

"An addiction, you say? To a muggle drug?" She asked, her hair bobbing upon her head. I silently nodded as she walked over to us and helped me pick Fred up and get him to walk out of our dorm. "I trust you can keep this incident to yourself, Mr. Jordan?"

Lee quickly nodded furiously. "Is there anything I can do, Professor?" He sounded so worried and scared. I felt like hugging him too.

McGonnagal just gave him a look of concern as she quickly ushered Fred and I out of the tower. She then led us over to her office where she gave us a tray of cookies and a blanket after we had sat down. "Which drug, Fred?" She sounded motherly... I was quite surprised with the care and softness that her voice conveyed.

My beloved twin sniffled into my lap, where his head lay across, and wiped away some more tears. "A muggle drug." He took the box out of his pocket and handed it to her.

"And how long has he been taking these?" She directed this question at me.

I scratched my brain for an exact time. "Umm about five weeks ago, I think."

Her frown deepened as she quickly walked across the room and spoke to a portrait on her wall of a man shearing a sheep. "Would you please fetch Madame Pomfrey and Albus for me, please?" She smiled at the portrait as he nodded swiftly and climbed the paintings to make his way out of the room. McGonnagal proceeded to fret and worry about the room, constantly asking if we needed a drink or another blanket until madame Pomfrey and Professor Dumbledore entered her office.

Pomfrey immediately started to check Fred for any physical injuries or faults. Dumbledore, however, just stared at us. "What was the nightmare about?" He questioned.

McGonnagal's face went bright red instantly. "Albus! Really? This boy is in need of serious help! His nightmares are not of any pressing concern!" She fumed.

Dumbledore just ignored her, though. "How long have they be going for?"

I cleared my throat and tried to think. "Um from since we came to Hogwarts, sir."

He thought deeply for a moment. "And what of the nature of these dreams?"

"Freddie said something about a dark room with a mirror, a ring of fire and a man with a face on the back of his head. Crazy stuff really. Oh, and a bright, astounding green light." I said quickly. It felt bad telling someone a secret that Fred had tried so hard and so long to keep a secret. I knew that they wouldn't condemn him for it, though.

The headmaster, however, just smiled brightly and left the room. McGonnagal could have had steam coming out of her ears with the look on her face. She instantly chased after the weird, old wizard, leaving only Freddie, Pomfrey and me in her office.

Pomfrey had already started to get Fred to his feet and was guiding him to her infirmary so I quickly hurried after them.
