Into the Pokemon World!

A/N- Wow, two updates in one week? You must all be shocked. I have some time on my hands...

This one'll be longer than the last one, but not too long. I'm sorry, I really am, but I barely have any time to write anymore, with the holidays coming. I'll make one that's at least 5000 words next time.

Enjoy!

"Pidgey!Use tackle!"

"Bulbasaur, use vine whip!"

Today, we find our heroes in the middle of a heated battle between Alex and Ash, to give Alex some practice for her gym battle.

"Pidgey, dodge and use Gust!" Alex cried. Pidgey dodged around the vines trying to hit him, and blew sharp winds towards Ash's Bulbasaur.

"Bulbasaur!" Ash cried as Bulbasaur was blown back by the wind. He recovered quickly, however, and shot razor leaves towards Pidgey.

"Pidgey!" Alex cried as Pidgey fell to the ground, clearly out of it. She scooped her Pokemon up in her arms, smiling softly at it. "You did great. Take a rest." She said, returning it.

"Gotta be better than that if you want to beat the Gym!" Ash said, returning Bulbasaur. "You could teach your Pidgey Hurricane, you know. That's a more powerful version of Gust. That should help." He said.

"Thanks. Let's go get healed. Brock, you wanna battle later? I need more practice." Alex asked, looking at Brock.

"Sure!" He said. Alex scoffed.

"And don't go easy on me because you think I look good." She said, crossing her arms. His face fell, but he nodded quickly, once he saw Misty behind Alex, pinching her forefinger and thumb together threateningly.

"I'm ready to battle! I'm totally pumped!" Jakob boasted, holding out his fingers in a V shape. Alex face-palmed.

"You need more than one Pokemon to battle the Gym, Jakob." She said. Jakob pranced off into the forest, holding out a Pokeball. He stopped in front of a tree.

"I'll catch one, then!" He yelled, puffing up his chest. Alex rolled her eyes.

"Boys." She scoffed. Misty nodded, but Brock looked affronted.

"Not all boys are like that!" He cried. Alex rolled her eyes, sighing.

"Oh, look, an Officer Jenny!" She said sarcastically, pointing off towards the police station. Brock ran off without another word. Alex looked at Misty. "Well, that's one way to get rid of him... Isn't that your cue?" She asked, pointing to the now terrified Jenny. Misty sighed.

"I'll be right back." She said, walking towards him. Jakob raced back towards Alex, a Pokeball in his hands.

"Told ya I could do it!" He yelled, waving the Pokeball. "I caught a Sunkern!" He cried. Alex stared at him, shocked.

"...aren't those usually from Johto?" She asked. Jakob looked down at the ball in his hand, thinking.

"Yeah, they are. Why was there one in Pewter City?" He asked. Alex shrugged, grinning.

"Nice job, though. Now we can battle!" She cried. Michael walked over, holding a snow cone.

"You caught something? I'm is it?" He asked. Jakob fumed over his brother's overly surprised words, and Alex answered for him.

"A Sunkern. They're rare here, I think." She said. Michael nodded.

"Yeah, they are. Can I see it?" He asked. Jakob nodded, throwing the Pokeball into the air.

Out popped the biggest Sunkern Alex had ever seen. It cried its name triumphantly, awaiting battle commands. When none came, he looked at Jakob, confused.

"Hi! I'm your new trainer now!" Jakob called, excited. Misty dragged Brock back by the ear, reprimanding him.

"And it is not nice to be... Is that a Sunkern?" She asked, staring at the kern Pokemon. Jakob nodded, smiling proudly.

"Yep! I caught it!" He said. Misty nodded.

"Cool. It's bigger than most I've seen, though..." She said. Alex nodded.

"I was just saying that!" She said. She turned to her brother. "Wanna go get it checked up? I think Ash is already at the Pokemon Center. Hey, Misty, he's escaping." She pointed out. Misty growled, pinching her finger threateningly towards Brock, who was trying to flirt, and failing miserably.

"...Well, that happened. Let's go." Jakob said, returning Sunkern. Alex led her brothers towards the Pokemon Center.

Ash was standing outside, shining his Pokeballs. "Hey, guys! Where'd you go?" He asked. Alex shrugged.

"We never went anywhere. You took off running before we could go." She said. Ash sweat-dropped, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"Heh... Sorry." He said. Alex nodded.

"It's fine. Jakob caught a Sunkern, by the way." She said. Ash's eyes widened.

"What's a Sunkern?" He asked. Jakob smiled.

"I'll show you as soon as I get it healed." He said. Ash looked downcast, but then perked up.

"Now we can battle two on two!" He cried happily. Jakob nodded.

"Yeah, I guess we can!"

"Those twerps are going to pay for what they did to me!" Jessie growled, a fire blazing in her eyes. James and Meowth grinned nervously.

"Heh, yes, well, calm down, please." James muttered nervously, scared. Meowth nodded.

Jessie whipped around and glared at them. "How dare you! Those stupid little brats locked us in jail! We're lucky the Boss came to bail us out!" She cried. James nodded.

"Yes, but still, people are staring." He said meekly. Jessie growled.

"Let them stare! We need revenge!" She cried, glaring at everyone in the vicinity. "Let's go find them! We'll get all their Pokemon!"

"You ready for this?"

"I was born ready!"

"Battle... Begin!"

Alex and Brock faced each other in their makeshift battlefield, their Pokemon battle-ready.

Brock nodded. "You make the first move." He said calmy. He seemed to have reverted back to his Gym Leader mindset, and was acting as if Alex was another challenger.

Alex grinned. "Alright then... Eevee! Shadow Ball!" She yelled. Eevee formed a ball of shadow in her mouth, and spit it out towards Brock's Zubat. Zubat dodged right around the ball of ectoplasm, and Alex gritted her teeth.

"Zubat! Supersonic!" Brock commanded, and Zubat began screeching. The rings hit Eevee spot on, and she was blown backwards.

"Come on, Eevee! Don't give in!" Alex yelled. Eevee pushed herself to her feet, and yipped. Alex grinned. "Alright! Agility into a Quick Attack!" She yelled. Eevee shot herself down the field, white light streaking from behind her. She jumped up, and quick attacked right into Zubat. The bat Pokemon screeched in pain, and Brock grimaced.

"You can take it, Zubat! Use screech!" He yelled. Zubat turned towards Eevee, and began to screech.

"Cover your ears, Eevee!" Alex yelled over the horrible noise, and Eevee complied, using her paws to fold her ears over her head.

The screeching stopped, and Eevee jumped up, ready to fight. "Alright! Tackle!" Alex yelled. Eevee rocketed into Zubat, knocking the Pokemon down onto the ground. "Scratch!" Alex yelled, and Eevee began raking her claws over Zubat. Zubat screeed, and promptly passed out.

Jakob stood up, being the referee. "Zubat is unable to battle! The winner of the first round is Alex!" He yelled. Alex grinned.

"Ready for another round, Brocko?" She asked. Brock grinned back at her, returning his Zubat.

"You may have won the round, but the war isn't over!" He yelled. "Alright, Onix!" He called, throwing his Pokeball. Alex grinned.

"Alright, let's do this! Eevee, think you can take him?" She asked. Eevee yipped happily, and got into a battle stance.

"Battle... Begin!" Jakob yelled, and Alex smirked.

"You can have the first move this time!" She told Brock. He smirked evilly, and Alex began to feel a bit of trepidation.

"Alright, Onix! Let's hit 'em with a Sandstorm!" He yelled. Alex smirked. This was almost too easy!

"Dig! Then plan 3!" She yelled over the roar of the oncoming sandstorm. Eevee dug down into the ground, escaping the flying sand.

Brock looked annoyed and confused. "Clever. Onix, use-" He was cut off by a roar of pain from Onix as Eevee shot a Shadow Ball from her hole. "You've thought out this whole battle, haven't you?" He asked. Alex grinned.

"Yep! Alright, Eevee, plan 6!" She yelled, and Eevee quick attacked out of the hole and right onto Onix's head. She began to shoot a barrage of Shadow Balls at him, while he angrily shook his head, wincing in pain.

"Hmm... Onix! Dig!" Brock yelled to his Pokemon. Alex gasped.

"Eevee! Bounce!" She yelled. Eevee bounced off of Onix's head and landed safely on the ground, and Onix dug into the Earth below him.

"You taught it Bounce?" Brock asked. Alex nodded.

"Yeah, yesterday. When I went to train Pidgey." She said, referring to when she had excused herself from everyone else to train her new Pokemon.

"Cool. Tackle!" He yelled. Taken off guard, Alex wasn't able to yell out a counter-attack in time, and Eevee was knocked down by Onix's tackle. She landed on the ground, clearly out of it.

Jakob stood up again. "Eevee is unable to battle!" He yelled. Alex growled, returning Eevee.

"You may have taken out Eevee, but I have a few more tricks up my sleeve!" She yelled, calling out Pidgey. "Oof!" She gasped as Pidgey tackled her. "I'm gonna have to name you Bayleef or something..." She muttered.

"Alright! Battle, Begin!" Jakob yelled. Alex wasted no time in calling out an attack.

"Pidgey! Use a 4!" She yelled. Brock looked at her curiously.

"4?" He asked. Alex just smiled. Her smile grew broader as Pidgey's brand new Air Cutter attack hit Onix in the face.

Brock growled. "She may have taken us off guard with that one, but we haven't lost yet! Onix, use Rock Polish!" He yelled. Alex groaned. Rock Polish gave them a lot of speed.

"They've got lots of speed now! We have to wait for it to wear off... Use a 9!" She called. Pidgey spawned a bunch of double teams, all of which began to throw more Air Cutters at Onix. "Rotate... Now!" Alex yelled, and the doubles began to spin around Onix, dizzying the Pokemon, and trapping it at the same time.

"Nice!" Brock complimented her. "Sandstorm." He calmly said, with an idle flick of his hand. Alex's eyes widened.

"Oh no... Pidgey, get out of there! Use 8!" She yelled. The multiple Pidgey's formed into one, and he flew up into the clouds, out of reach of the growing Sandstorm.

Alex shielded her eyes. Brock looked up, but the clouds were blocking all views of Pidgey. "Onix! Be careful! 8 could mean anything!" He yelled.

Alex smirked. He had no idea... "And... NOW!" She yelled. Air Cutters came from all over, as Pidgey agilitied while throwing the cutters. Onix bellowed in pain, but Brock just smirked.

"We've got a few different tricks up our sleeves as well..." He said. "Alright, Onix!" He yelled. Onix nodded, and began to bellow. Loudly.

Pidgey screeched from above them, and fell, confused by the roar. Alex grimaced, but Brock just kept on smirking.

"Body slam." He said. Onix slithered forward, and crashed right into the falling Pidgey, knocking her out.

"Pidgey is unable to battle, which means the winner of this round, and the battle, is Brock!" Jakob yelled. Alex returned Pidgey.

"You did good. Have a rest." She murmured. She heard a chuckle from in front of her, and lifted her head.

Her eyes met Brock's...slits... And she nodded. "Good job." She said. He laughed.

"Thanks, but you were pretty good too. Those combinations were really cool. Have you ever thought of being a coordinator?" He asked. Alex's cheeks reddened from the praise, and she nodded.

"Once, when I was little. I watched through the Hoenn episodes and wanted to be a coordinator so badly. Now I want to be a trainer." She said, chuckling at the memory of her 5 year old self.

Brock nodded. "Understandable. You might as well try it, though. You'd probably win." He said. Alex nodded, blushing.

"Thanks..." She mumbled. Brock nodded, about to say something more, but Misty and Ash ran up to her, enveloping her in conversation and leading her away from Brock. He frowned, but said nothing.

*******************************Line Break********************************

"You see them?" Jessie asked. James frowned, shaking his head.

"No. They've just disappeared!" He said. Jessie growled.

"How come when we don't want to find them they're there, and when we do want to find them they're no where in sight?" She cried. Meowth winced.

"I dunno, Jess, an' I dun tink da thousands of people you just woke up know either." He said. Jessie growled, but quieted down.

"Well, they've got to be somewhere." She said, the fire in her eyes reigniting. James and Meowth sighed. She wasn't going to give up until she either got revenge, or got blasted off...

*******************************Line Break********************************

"Your Pokemon are all fine, Alex." Nurse Joy said. Alex nodded, taking the tray her Pokeballs were in.

"Thanks, Nurse Joy." She said. She raised a hand, curling it into a fist, and shot it out to her right; Brock crumpled, moaning about how she was keeping him from true love. She scoffed.

"Alright, I think I'm ready for my gym battle now!" She cried. Brock smiled, climbing back to his feet.

"Follow me. I must warn you, my dad doesn't go easy on anyone." He warned. Alex smirked.

"I can handle him! Bring it on!" She cried, rushing out of the Pokemon Center. The group ran off after her, trying to get her to slow down.

Alex skidded to a halt in front of the giant building shaped like a rock, and began to try and catch her breath. She needed to be ready for her battle.

Jakob caught up to her first. Panting, he looked at her angrily. "How come you get to battle first? I haven't battled at all!" He yelled. Alex nodded.

"That's why. You haven't battled at all. I have, twice." She said. Jakob still looked angry, straightening up.

"And you've lost both times!" He yelled. Alex crossed her arms.

"That's because I was up against Mr. Soon-to-be Pokemon Master, and a former Gym Leader! I lost, but I still got experience. I'm ready for this, whereas you are not." She said. She began to pound on the large doors, not giving Jakob any time for argument. "Hey! I challenge you!" She yelled, still pounding.

The doors slowly opened, revealing a dark hallway. Brock, Misty, Ash, and Michael skidded to a halt behind the two, and Misty looked angry.

"Why did you just run off like that! You are so much like Ash..." She muttered, crossing her arms. Alex just smiled, and began walking into the dimly lit hallway.

Ash smiled wistfully. "I remember my battle. It was what made you come with me, Brock! I remember that day..." He trailed off. Alex scoffed.

"Yes, and I would love to hear about. In fact, it was one of my favorite episodes. But, trips down memory lane aren't relevant right now." She said, marching forwards. "I wanna battle!" She cried.

Ash nodded. "Misty's right... You do sound like me." He said, chuckling lightly. "I'll reminisce later, let's get to your battle. We have to get you into the Pokemon League, so that we can fight!" He said, pumping a fist into the air. Alex smiled.

"Yes, yes we do. Let's go!" She cried, rushing into the next room. The lights flickered on, revealing a large, rocky battlefield. Someone chuckled in the shadows, making Alex jump.

"Ah, Brock. Back so soon?" He said. Flint stepped out of the shadows, a welcoming smile on his face. "Welcome home, son." He said. His gaze swept over the rest of the group, and Alex stepped forwards.

"I'd like to challenge you to a gym battle, sir, if you don't mind." She said mildly, her previously fiery attitude doused by the bigger man in front of her. He chuckled.

"Sure! I always love the challengers!" He said. "You stand here." He said, gesturing to the challenger box drawn on the floor. She obeyed, stepping into the space. He walked across the field into the other box, and grabbed a Pokeball.

"Brock, would you mind refereeing?" He asked. Brock nodded, stepping into the referee box.

"This will be a two on two battle. Only the challenger may change Pokemon. Do you both agree to these rules?" Brock asked. Both Flint and Alex nodded, and Alex grabbed Eevee's Pokeball. "Release your Pokemon!"

"Go! Graveler!" He yelled. His rock Pokemon burst out of it's ball, growling. Alex shuddered; those things used to freak her out badly.

Shaking off her fear, she threw her Pokeball. "Eevee, time to shine!" She called. Eevee popped out, getting ready for the battle.

"Eevui!" She yelled. Alex smiled. She knew Eevee could do this. Flint smiled as well, gesturing towards the battlefield.

"You make the first move." He said. Alex smirked; acting like a gentleman was going to be his demise...

"Alright, Eevee! Let's use a 9!" She yelled, pointing forwards. Eevee immediately began spawning double teams, which all began running around in a circle. The double teams all began to throw a mixture of Shadow Balls and Swifts towards Graveler.

Flint seemed surprised, but shook it off quickly, regaining his composture. "Alright... Rock Polish!" He yelled. Alex smirked.

"Keep using 9!" She yelled. Flint blinked; he really had no idea what nine was going to do next. "Now!" She yelled. The dozens of Eevees solidified into one, and then began to use Baby-Doll Eyes.

Graveler stared deep into Eevee's large, adorable eyes, and froze in place. Alex grinned. "Growl!" She yelled. Eevee switched moves immediately, and began growling threateningly. Graveler began backing up, intimidated. Alex looked confused. She didn't know Growl could intimidate... It just lowered attack stats...

"Don't let it faze you, Graveler! Use Bulldoze!" Flint yelled. Graveler shook it's head, shaking off any confusing feelings, and charged at Eevee. Alex smirked. She was hoping for that.

"Don't worry, Eevee! It's attack was lowered by that Growl! Just dodge!"She yelled. Eevee yipped, jumping over the charging rock Pokemon. "Now, use a 5!" She yelled. Flint blinked.

"That could mean anything, Graveler!" He yelled. "Get ready!" He yelled. Alex smirked.

Eevee began kicking up sanding, sending it flying towards Graveler. Graveler was weak to Ground type moves. The rock Pokemon roared as the gritty sand got in his eyes, blinding him. Eevee then began to shoot Swift at Graveler, who flinched in pain, and the Swifts were followed up by Shadow Balls.

"Yes! Now, finish it off!" Alex yelled. Eevee rocketed into Graveler, tackling it, and shot a few well aimed Shadow Balls at its head, knocking it out.

Brock stepped forward, holding up a flag. "Graveler is unable to battle! Alex is the winner of the first round!" He yelled. Alex cheered, and Eevee jumped into her arms, happy.

Flint smiled, returning Graveler. "You're pretty good. You ready for another battle?" He asked. Alex nodded, determined. "Alright then... Rhydon!" He called, throwing another Pokeball.

Rhydon materialized in the middle of the battlefield, growling. Alex smiled. "Eevee, think you can handle this guy?" She asked. Eevee yipped, jumping out into the battlefield. "I'll take that as a yes." She laughed.

Flint smiled. "Would you like the first move?" He asked. Alex shook her head.

"No, thanks." She said. Flint nodded.

"Alright, then... Use Smack Down!" He yelled. Rhydon charged forward, holding out its giant arms.

"Eevee, use Sand Attack!" She yelled. Like Graveler, Rhydon had a weakness to Ground Type moves, despite it being part ground type.

The little pieces of sand hit Rhydon straight on, making it back off. Alex smirked. "Now, use Tackle!" She yelled. Flint blinked.

"What, no crazy combinations now?" He asked. Alex laughed.

"Later. For now, I'm sticking with this. Also, you're losing." She said. Flint looked back at the battlefield... To find Rhydon on the ground with Eevee on top of it. Flint blinked.

"You're smarter than you let on..." He muttered. "Rhydon, Fury Attack!" He yelled. Rhydon began raking its claws across Eevee's face, effectively knocking her off.

Eevee struggled back to her feet, groaning. "Eevee! You can do it! Quick attack!" She yelled. Eevee balanced itself, and then rocketed off to tackle the Drill Pokemon again. Flint smiled.

"Rhydon, dodge and then use Rock Blast!" He yelled. Rhydon jumped out of the way, cracking the floor as he landed, and began shooting off rocks out of its hands. Alex gasped.

"Eevee, jump on top of them to dodge!" She yelled. Eevee effectively jumped on each rock, avoiding the move completely.

"Horn Drill!" Flint yelled, and Eevee landed on top of Rhydon. She was hit by the rotating horn, and fell off, knocked out.

Brock stood up again. "Eevee is unable to battle!" He yelled. Alex sighed, returning Eevee.

"You did a great job, Eevee. Rest." She said, pocketing the Pokeball. She went for Pidgey's ball...

And the ceiling blasted open. Alex jumped out of the way of a falling tile, squinting in the sudden sunlight. Laughter rang through the noise.

"Well, it seems we've interrupted a battle..." James snickered. "Well, too bad! You can't battle without Pokemon!" He yelled.

The Meowth balloon popped up out of the cloud of dust, and the real Meowth pressed a button. "Heeheehahaha!" He laughed.

A net shot out of the bottom of the balloon, scooping up Rhydon. A hand shot out next, grabbing Pikachu off of Ash's shoulders.

"Pika Pi!" Pikachu yelled, struggling against the red hand. He tried to use Thundershock, but nothing happened.

"Ha! You think we haven't learned our lesson from all those other times we've been shocked?" Jessie laughed. She stuck her tongue out, and turned the balloon around, rocketing out of there.

Ash moved to release another Pokemon, but Alex got there first. She released Podgey, who tackled into her.

"Seriously, I should name you Cacnea..." She muttered, pulling Pidgey out of her stomach. "Chase after them! Pop their balloon!" She cried, pointing towards the retreating hot air balloon. Pidgey shot off like a rocket towards the balloon... And shot right through it.

Screams could be heard as the balloon fell from the sky, quickly trading hight for speed. It landed in a clearing, and smoke began to billow from where they had landed.

"Rhydon!" Flint cried, rushing through the door and towards the column of smoke. Ash rushed after him, yelling for Pikachu.

Alex chased after the two, skidding to a halt as they reached the small clearing. Team Rocket was laying on the ground, moaning, and Rhydon was trying to break through the net.

"It... Wont' work." Jessie moaned from the ground. "They're reinforced with steel. Nothing can break them"

Just then, the ropes tore. Rhydon rushed out, greeting his trainer. Ash pried Pikachu from the metal hand, and smiled once he had succeeded.

"What?" Jessie cried. She grabbed James, who sheepishly smiled.

"Heh... Yes, well, it was either reinforced with steel or those cheeseburgers you loved so much..." He said. Jessie began slapping him with vigor, screaming at him.

"CHEESEBURGERS! WE COULD HAVE GOTTEN A RHYDON! A PIKACHU! SERIOUSLY JAMES?" She shrieked. James fruitlessly tried to shield his face, crying something about cheesiness.

"Uh... Let's go." Ash suggested. Flint and Alex nodded, unable to formulate any words. "Oh, wait!" ASh said, walking back into the clearing. "Thundershock." He said simply. Pikachu jumped off his shoulder, preformed a backflip(showoff...), and shock the three Rockets into the sky.

"Alright... Now let's go." Alex said.

Once back at the gym, Alex gasped. The entire battlefield was covered in rocks and ceiling tiles.

"Oh no!" She gasped. "I'll help clean up, Flint." She offered. Flint shook his head.

"You've done enough for me today. Without your Pidgey's help, I never would have gotten Rhydon back." He said. Alex blushed, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Heh... Well, it was mostly..." She trailed off as Flint held out a Boulder badge. "But... I never won the battle." She said, staring at the shiny badge in awe. Flint chuckled.

"Gyms aren't all about winning battles. They're tests of character, and you've just aced the test." He said. Alex swallowed, her mouth dry.

"So... It's mine?" She asked. Flint nodded, and she gingerly took the badge in her hands.

"I... I got the Boulder Badge!" She cried. Pidgey landed on her shoulder, cooing happily.

Jakob walked up to her. "Nice job. Now it's my turn!" He said, jumping up and pumping a fist into the air. Alex chuckled.

"Yes, next it's your turn." She said. Flint walked up to them.

"You want a battle too?" He asked. Jakob nodded vigorously, smiling. "Well, then, I'd better get my Pokemon healed. Meet you back here in 10 minutes?" He asked. Jakob nodded.

"Alright!" He said. "I should get healed too." He muttered, running a hand over Diglett's Pokeball. Flint nodded.

"Let's go." He said, and the group walked off towards the Pokemon center.

"Uh... Alex?" Michael asked, shuffling up next to her. She looked at him.

"What's wrong, Michael?" She asked, concerned. He mumbled something incoherent, and Alex crossed her arms. "Gonna have to be louder than that." She said.

"I wanna be a coordinator."

A/N- Dun dun! Wow, guess I had more time than I thought...

Lot's of battling in this chapter. It was really fun to write! Next chapter will see Jakob's battle, plus Michael explaining why he wants to be a coordinator. Until then... See ya!
