Into the Pokemon World!

A/N-Sorry for the wait! I got a cold from waiting to see some Holiday Fireworks a few days ago, and now I'm sitting here among the Kleenex boxes and Motrin bottles writing this. I think it might come out a bit rushed, so I hope it's OK...

Enjoy!

Alex stared at the shiny badge in her hand. It was hers. It was hers. She had won it by herself.

Michael sat down next to her. "I've just finished explaining to Jakob and the rest of 'em." He said. "They said that they thought I'd be a good coordinator, and Brock said the next contest in Kanto is in Vermillion City on March 15th." He said. Alex thought for a second.

"...Any idea what today's date is?" She asked. His brow furrowed.

"No. I don't... Should we ask Ash?" He asked. Alex nodded.

"If we were still in our world..." She felt a pain in her gut as she said that. She hadn't realized how much she had missed her world, with all the excitement of Team Rocket and getting a Pokemon and her Gym Battle. "Uh... The day we got kidnapped was... February 16th, and we've been here for about a week. So that means, assuming the date here is the same as the date on Earth, then today would be... February 23rd." She said. Michael nodded.

"I'll go ask Ash." He said, standing up. "Congratulations on winning, by the way." He said. Alex gave him a two fingered Drew salute.

"Thanks. But did you expect anything less?" She said in a Drew voice. Michael rolled his eyes.

"Of course not, Grasshead." He said. Alex laughed, and he walked away. Alex went back to examining the badge in her hands, still unable to believe it was hers.

"Hey." Someone said, and Alex looked up. Ash was standing over her, smiling. "That was a cool battle." He said. Alex grinned.

"Thanks. I just can't believe it's mine!" She said. Ash nodded.

"I was exactly the same way. I've matured, though." He said. Alex choked.

"Matured?" She asked, disbelieving. Ash crossed his arms.

"At least I don't attack grass types like I'm a Pokemon..." He grumbled. Alex stood up, about to retaliate, but Michael grabbed her.

"Alex! What are you doing?" He cried. Alex growled, but calmed down.

"Ash called me immature." She pouted. Michael rolled his eyes.

"And he had a point." He said, dodging around Alex's fist. "hey, Ash, I was wondering... What date is it here?" He asked. Ash thought for a second.

"February 25th, I think." He said. Michael nodded.

"Thanks." He said. Ash nodded.

"Why were you asking?"

"Me and Michael were wondering about the date difference between here and our world." Alex explained, as Michael walked off to pull Brock away from the Nurse Joy. Ash nodded.

"Alright, but now you owe me a favor... So, since, in your world, this whole place is a TV show... What Pokemon am I going to catch?" He asked. Alex grinned.

"What Pokemon do you have right now?" She asked. He smiled, unhooking his Pokeballs.

"Come on out, everyone!" He yelled. Out came Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander, and Pidgeot, and Pikachu jumped down from Ash's shoulder to join the group.

"Alright... Then, soon you'll catch a Primeape..." She said. She thought for a second. "And then... You'll go to the Orange Islands and catch a Snorlax... Do you have your Tauros yet?" She asked. He nodded. "Alright... The you'll catch a Muk... Then you'll go to Johto and catch a Chikorita, a Cyndaquill, a Totodile, a Heracross, a Noctowl, and you'll hatch a Phanpy." She said. His eyes widened.

"Seriously? Cool!" He cried. She nodded.

"I know, right? Anyway, then comes Hoenn, and with it comes your Tailow, your Treeko, your Torkoal, your Corphish, and your Snorunt, three of which evolve." She said. Ash grinned.

"Cool! Now... What's a Snorunt? And a Corphish? And a Cyndaquill?" He asked. Alex groaned.

"Just wait until you get there... There are more, but I can't remember them right now..." She said. Ash nodded, smiling.

"That's fine." He said. "When do I catch my Primeape?" He asked. Alex smiled.

"Soon."

"Welcome back! I see you're ready for your battle." Flint said, welcoming Jakob back into the gym. The rest of the group followed him quickly, and they were once again greeted with the sight of the battlefield.

Jakob ran to the challenger's box, and unhooked a Pokeball. "Let's do this!" He yelled. Flint chuckled.

"You're enthusiastic, aren't ya?" He said, chuckling. He stepped into the box opposite Jakob, and Brock once again took up the post of referee.

"This will be a two-on-two battle between the challenger, Jakob, and Flint, the gym leader! Only the challenger may switch Pokemon. Do you both agree to these rules?" He yelled.

Jakob and Flint both nodded. "Alright! Begin!" He yelled. Jakob threw a Pokeball, and his oddly large Sunkern came out, asleep.

Flint chose Rhydon, and the battle began. Jakob swung his arm around, pointing towards the Rhydon. "Alright! Let's give 'em a... What moves do you know?" He asked, confused. Sunkern did the equivalent of a sigh, and used a Solar Beam, blasting Rhydon head on.

Jakob stared at the Pokemon, who just smiled and went back to sleeping. Rhydon seemed shocked; it was standing there with burn marks all over its steel armor, staring at the seed Pokemon.

Flint broke out of his surprised stupor. "Rhydon! Fight back with Bulldoze!" He yelled. Rhydon ran forward, though it winced every time its left leg hit the floor.

Jakob seemed to have noticed this. "Sunkern! Use...Ah..." He mumbled. Sunkern rolled its eyes, and let loose a Mega Drain, draining Rhydom of its health. Rhydon fell over, clearly fainted.

"Well... That works too..." Jakob mumbled. Brock didn't even give the yell; he was too stunned.

"Well... Uh... Good job..." Flint said, returning Rhydon. "Alright! Golem!" He yelled. The rock golem emerged, roaring deafeningly.

"Golem?" Alex cried, standing up from where she was sitting in the stands. "That was a Gravler a few hours ago!" She yelled.

Flint smirked. "I traded with a friend to evolve it." He said matter-of-factly. Alex grabbed her Pokedex from inside her pocket. She opened it, and a picture of Golem appeared on the screen.

"Golem, the Megaton Pokemon. Even dynamite can't harm its hard, boulder-like body. It sheds its hide just once a year." The Pokedex said.

"Cool..." Alex muttered. She got struck with a sudden idea, and stood up again. "Jakob! Use your Pokedex! It's show what moves Sunkern knows!" She yelled.

Jakob gave her a thumbs up, and scanned his new Pokemon. "Sunkern, the seed Pokemon. Sunkern lives by eating only dewdrops from under the leaves of plants. It is said it eats nothing else." The Pokedex said, and then listed the moves Sunkern knew. Jakob smiled to himself.

"Alright... Sunkern, let's start off with a Solar Beam!" He yelled. Sunkern began charging the grass-type move, and Flint smirked.

"It'll take him a while to charge! Use Earthquake!" Flint yelled. Golem jumped up into the air, and came back down with a crashing roar. The ground around it began to crumble, and spikes of rock erupted out of the ground.

A spike went straight for Sunkern just as the Solar Beam finished charging. The two attacks met in the middle of the battlefield, causing a massive explosion. The smoke cleared...

Both Pokemon were down for the count.

"Both Sunkern and Golem are unable to battle! This round is a draw!" Brock yells, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. Flint chuckles, returning Golem as Jakob returns Sunkern.

"Nice job, Jakob. It seems you are just as good as your sister." He said. Jakob smirked.

"Thanks, but I'm better!" He said boastfully. Alex groaned.

"Does he have to frag sibling rivalry into everything?" She asked rhetorically. Misty sighs, nodding yes.

"My sisters were the same, except they always said that they were more beautiful than me..." She sighed. Alex smiled at her.

"That's just how siblings are, I guess. Annoying and boastful." She said. Michael glared at her, affronted.

"How dare you assume that?" He asked, looking hurt. Alex smiled.

"Not you, Mikey. Jakob." She said. Michael smiled, looking slightly less hurt.

"Alright, then." He said, just as Flint hands Jakob the Boulder Badge.

Jakob jumped up in the air happily. "Yes! I got the Boulder Badge!" He cried, holding out two hands in the very familiar V shape. Ash groaned.

"Does everyone do that?" He asked. As every nodded happily he sighed. "I thought I was original..."

"Don't worry Ash, you're still weirder than a Miltank using Fly." Misty said. Ash gave her a deadpan look.

"Thanks, Misty." He said sarcastically. So much for comforting thoughts...

After saying their farewells to Flint, the group of six set off again. Ash looked at Brock curiously.

"Where to next?" He asked. Brock looked in his trusty notebook.

"It seems we have to go to Cerulean for a certain badge for two of our friends." He said. "And of course we can't miss out on greeting the beautiful-EAR!" He got cut off as Misty dragged him away by his ear.

Alex laughed. "Alright, now I have to get a grass type!" Alex said. Jakob looked at her boastfully.

"I already have one!" He said, puffing up his chest proudly. Alex smirked.

"Yeah, one that conserves it's energy until it can evolve, which it can't until you pay a fortune for a stone." She said sarcastically. Jakob's face fell.

"You don't have to rub it in..." He muttered. Alex just laughed.

Michael ran ahead. "After Cerulean is Viridian, the site of my first ever Kanto Contest!" He cried. He ran away, towards the route going to Cerulean. The other five ran after him happily.

A/N- Yes, yes, I know, short chapter. I'm busy right now! I would have updated sooner but I'm sick.

I'll try to have the next chapter up before New Years Eve, but I can't make any promises... I have lots of Holiday stuff to do before then...

Until next time!
