Emmett's POV:

"I. Love. My. Life." I thought as I walked to my school with my friends. Everything has been going so good for me lately. I looked up at the sky, there was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was high in the sky and shining so brightly. I love days like this. They're my favorite type of day.

-Flashback-

I looked over as Jessica and Lauren walked by me in the 4th grade hall. "I can't believe we have new students today," Jessica said.

Lauren grinned. "Yeah the Cullens and Hales. Those boys are so cute. I can't wait to meet them," she agreed.

I continued to walk to class. I couldn't have cared less if we had new students. I walked in my class and saw four new students sitting at the back of the class, and decided to go and sit beside them. One of the new girls, dressed in a short denim skirt and a black shirt, got up from her seat to introduce herself. I couldn't help but look at her long, slender legs. She stuck her hand out and flashed me a dazzling smile. "Rosalie Hale. I'm new here."

I felt the corners of my mouth lift up as I shook her hand and said, "Emmett, nice to meet you."

She smiled back and went to sit back down in the seat next to mine. She had nice hair, Blonde ringlets that cascaded down her back. Her lips were coated in a sanguine shade of red.

Then the other new students stood. The boy with blonde hair that matched Rosalie's turned to her. "Who is he?"

"Emm—" She began, but I cut her off.

"Emmett, who're you?"

The blonde guy with little blue eyes said, "I'm Jasper. Rosalie's my sister."

"That's Edward Cullen," he added, pointing toward the guy with bronze hair. "And this is his sister, Alice," he told me, pointing toward the very thin, short girl with black hair and a graceful, dancer's body.

They all shook my hand, and in that second, I instantly knew I had just made four new friends.

Bella's POV:

"I. Hate. My. Life." I thought as I walked to school. Everything had been going so bad for me lately. I wanted to walk with Emmett, but he walked to school with his so-called 'friends'. If only he knew that his best friends and his girlfriend beat me up and called me names every day. I wanted to tell my brother so badly, but one time last week, when no one was in the hall, they told me that if I told Emmett, it would only get worse. I wanted it to stop, but what could I do?

I'm 13 years old, well tomorrow I will be 14. I weigh roughly around 160 pounds. If you didn't know, I'm a female by the way.

They're 16, and they seemed much bigger than I have made me their target since the day they got here. They have installed the fear in me, but I would have to endure it. I kept quiet as they called me fat and ugly.

One day, all this would blow up in their face, and I, Bella Swan, would be at the top.

Next day

I woke up with the bright morning sun shining through my window. Today is my 14th birthday. My dad had already left for work, but he left my gifts on my nightstand. They got me a camera and an iPod touch. Emmett's 16th birthday was last week, and he had been talking about this silver Jeep he really wanted for a long, long time. When he woke up, there was a set of silver keys lying on his nightstand. He began to jump up and down like a little kid in the candy store who could get all the candy they wanted. He then proceeded to ran back inside to call his friends after he saw the car.

I went upstairs to get dressed, and when I came downstairs, Emmett was already gone in his new car. I was upset and felt like he had forgotten all about me. I wanted to ride with him. I began to walk to school alone. I frown and thought about how I have no friends. I was walking into the school parking lot when I saw that it was empty except for my brother's friends. I didn't know where Emmett was, but I knew I really needed him that moment.

I kept walking, praying that they would not see me.

"Hey Bella!" someone called. I didn't even have to look back to know who it was.

That smooth, cold voice was easily distinguished. I felt a lump in my throat.

I started to walk a little faster. Then I felt a hand wrap around my arm and yanked me around. Instead of looking at the school I was anxious to go into, I had to look into the cold green eyes of Edward Cullen instead.
