Jacob's POV:
I was driving down Main St. in Forks and I heard screaming. Like a blood-curdling scream. I followed the screaming to a deserted alley. I parked beside the alley and walked into the alley. After I walked a little way into the alley, I saw a small, frail body lying in the center of a pool of blood. Jaw dropping in shock, I ran over to the body. Once I got a closer look, I saw that it was my little cousin, Bella! I picked her up and drove her to the hospital, not a single speed under 100 miles per hour.
She woke up after the doctor's had stitched her wounds and gave her some blood transfusions. I was lucky to find her when I did or else she would have died. She opened her mouth, and closed it again. Too exhausted to speak. I smoothed down her hair and shushed her when she whined in pain.
"Water," she croaked after a few moments. I got her a glass and helped her swallow it little by little. After drinking half the glass, she promptly fell asleep again.
Then I immediately called her father and brother. Though Charlie had freaked out on the phone and didn't want Emmett to see his sister in this condition, both father and son walked in, and that's when it began.
Emmett's POV:
I walk into the hospital room and I see a lot of blood.
"Bella! Oh my god!" I screamed. Though the blood was dry and crusted on her clothes, I knew it was her blood, and not anyone else's.
I turned and looked at Jake. "Did you do this?" I growled.
Jake looked shocked. "No way! Do you think I would come to a hospital and bring her here if I had?"
"Now, Emmett, don't go jumping to conclusions. Jake, what happened?" Charlie asked.
Jake told us what happened. I looked at Bella. "Who did this, Bella? Tell me who, and I will find them," I said.
She didn't answer. "Why isn't she answering me?" I asked Jacob.
Jacob snorted. "Well, if you looked at her eyes, you would have seen that her eyes are shut and she was sleeping but now she's awake due to your yelling." He said smartly. I looked down at her face and noticed that she was sleeping but her face was scrunched up cutely, just like it always was when she first woke up.
"Bella?" I asked softly. She 'hummed' in response.
"Who did this Bella? Who hurt you?" I questioned her, my voice hardening, demanding an answer.
But, she didn't answer. Then , randomly, she suddenly asked, "Dad, can I go live with mom in Jacksonville for a while?"
"No Bella, you don't have to move!" I pleaded. She ignored me again.
Dad said, "Of course you can, sweetheart." His breath hitched though.
We all were crying. I was crying softly yet hard at the same time. Charlie was silently crying and Jacob had a few tears down his face. Bella was just sobbing.
"I will call your mother and take you to the airport next week."
"Don't leave, Bella," Jake begged.
"I'm sorry, but I have to," she said, crying into her arms.
She stretched out her arms, after the crying had died down, so we could all hug her, " I'm going to miss you guys. I'll keep in touch."
Next week:
Bella's POV
"Goodbye Emmett. I'll miss you, big brother," I said. I couldn't help but feel my eyes well up. He had been with me my whole life and now I was leaving him for the first time.
He gave me his last big bear hug and said, "Don't forget me."
"I won't. How could I? Love you, Emmett," I said.
Charlie and I hopped in the cruiser and started driving to the airport. We arrived there within thirty minutes and bought my ticket shortly after.
"Bye Bells. Don't forget to keep in touch," he said. His voice shook.
"Aw, dad, don't worry. I love you. I'll keep in touch," I said.
We shared one last hug. Then I got on my flight, my new life just a few hours away.
