Trembling hands gripped onto the shiny doorknob of an empty room in the arena. Opening the door, eyes scanned over the room looking for something to collapse on. A place to sit and just think about what had just happened out there because it was so unreal. It felt like a dream…a horrible dream. A nightmare.

Spotting a leather couch with a camera facing it, quick feet made its way over to it. A soft bump of the camera made it topple over but there was no care for it; WWE had millions of dollars. They could easily purchase a new one if damage was done. A groan, a soft tired groan, escaped the plump lips of the stressed individual. Why did I do that? Why did I agree to do this?

A loud bang caught the attention of the saddened. Two long tanned legs were the first thing in sight before the rest of the body, fiery red hair being last. A wide smirk grew on Eva as she made her way to the couch; her strides were slow but they held pride…a gain of power. Her head was held up high as she placed hand on the person's shoulder and bared her teeth with a growing smile.

"Good job, JoJo." She finally spoke. "I knew you'd do it."

JoJo looked over at her with a forlorn look. "I didn't have a choice…" JoJo muttered, suddenly becoming aware of the black hoodie she still had on. She desperately tried to shrug it off her body; it was tainted with her recent act.

"No, you had a choice. You just knew what the consequences were." Eva spoke matter-of-fact. As if she didn't make JoJo do something unmoral. JoJo looked over at Eva, not quite sure what to think of her friend, or used to be friend.

"Why are you like this?" JoJo asked in a whisper.

Eva could only chuckle as she patted JoJo's shoulder. "It's just the politics of this industry. I want to be big, JoJo, and to be big you have to do big things. Sometimes they aren't good but they have to be done. You've seen how everything works, lies, deception…these are things that need to be done." Eva stood, turning to face JoJo before folding her arms. "One day you'll probably have to do something like this too. Don't sweat it, Jo. Alright?"

JoJo opened her mouth to object but nothing could come out. She wanted to believe this isn't something people had to do but what did she know? And, as much as she didn't want to admit it, this was something done a lot in the past. Maybe this was something that needed to be done? But to my friends?

"I'll see you later, Jo. I'd go out to celebrate this with you but I've got a date with Dean tonight." Eva rolled her eyes. "But we'll hang out tomorrow, okay?" And with that Eva strutted out of the room; stride still with purpose of some kind of growth in power.

JoJo looked down at the hoodie on the ground before letting out a sigh and putting her face in her hands. She still couldn't believe she did this.

"Roman. Really, I'm fine." Kaitlyn tried to reassure her beau. Tried because Roman was currently fluffing up the pillow in their hotel room so Kaitlyn could sit back comfortably; he had been doing this for a few minutes now. Roman grunted a response at her that didn't sound like much of anything.

"Roman." She placed a hand on his head, slowly sliding down to his cheek as he looked up at her. "I'm fine."

"No." Roman shook his head, setting himself down next to her. "You say you're fine but I'm not fine. I'm not fine with any of this."

Kaitlyn pressed her lips together as she moved her hand from his cheek. "You don't have to worry about this." She motioned towards herself. "I'll figure this out; you don't need to worry about me."

"I don't care." Roman now grew a face of anger. "You're my girl, Kaitlyn and someone out there just hurt you for no reason! I'm going to find this person and I'm going to beat their bitch ass up."

Kaitlyn's eyebrows arched up at his words. She knew Roman had an anger in him, especially when other's messed with what he loved, but his voice held a growl Kaitlyn hadn't heard before. "I don't want you worrying about this, Ro. I can find this person, and trust me I will, and I'll beat their bitch ass up just fine. I don't want you having to worry for me now too…" Kaitlyn cleared her throat, adjusting herself on the bed. "I know you have other things to worry about…"

Roman looked at her with a look she couldn't quite describe. Then again, Roman was always such a closed book she was just starting to figure him out. "I could have a million of worries, and I do, but you'll always be worth worrying about-"

"I don't need that validation." Kaitlyn interrupted.

"I know." Roman commented before she could continue. "But, I'm saying that I'm not just worried for you as a significant other. I'm worried for you as a teammate as well. Anything's that a threat to you is a threat to The Shield as a unit."

Kaitlyn opened her mouth to object when loud bangs were heard from the door. Kaitlyn went to get it but Roman was quicker than her, making it to the front door and opening it. She heard footsteps enter and immediately caught sight of Seth, Dean and…Eva.

Seth was the first to speak, quickly making his way to Kaitlyn and sitting next to her. "Are you okay?" He asked, worried written all over his face.

"I'm okay." Kaitlyn answered, though she was distracted by the red elephant in the room. "Just a few bruises but I'm fine."

"Do you know who did this to you?" Seth asked, gaining Kaitlyn's attention again.

"No, I don't." She shook her head. "They just attacked me out of the blue."

"Out of the blue?" Dean was the one to ask this from his spot near the door. He had Eva next to him, his arm loosely around her waist. The girl tried her best to look worried, Kaitlyn could see it, but it didn't feel genuine. Or maybe she was just assuming. Either way, she didn't have time for Eva's fake friendship or whatever she was doing here.

Kaitlyn nodded. "Yeah. I was going to gorilla for my match. I was getting close when someone got me from behind and started to beat on me."

"Does anyone have it out for you or something?" Dean asked, now letting go of Eva and crossing his arms. "No enemies resurfacing? Maybe a pigtailed enemy?"

"AJ?" Kaitlyn scrunched her nose. "No. She wouldn't hide her face if she was attacking me. She'd definitely want me to know it was her." Kaitlyn shook her head. This didn't feel like an AJ plan anyways. AJ was more mental than this, as well as more childish when it came to plans to ruin Kaitlyn. And she had heard that AJ was taking a vacation from wrestling anyways so she wasn't even in the back.

"People don't attack people for no reason. Even I have a reason for going off on someone." Dean spoke.

"Maybe…" Eva spoke, gaining the attention of everyone in the room. "It has to do with that." Eva pointed towards the butterfly belt currently folded on the table. "Aren't Divas like, constantly doing stuff like that to bring down the champion?" Eva asked.

"She's got a point." Seth said, slowly taking his eyes off Eva to look at Kaitlyn.

"She does." Kaitlyn agreed before sighing. "But I don't know any Diva that would do it. Aksana did it to me once but she was working with Teddy Long and that was a messy plan to take the belt from Eve. And I don't think Aksana would do this again."

"Maybe it's a friend that's not really a friend." Dean shrugged. "When you're champion people who are usually your buds don't stay pretty buddy buddy with you for long."

Kaitlyn shrugged, not wanting to believe that another one of her "friends" was willing to stab her in the back again. Though, trying to block the thought wasn't something that always worked for Kaitlyn and she felt a sudden rush of anxiety over the possibility. Trying desperately to get it away from her thought she looked over at Seth, the closest to her since Roman moved over to a chair, and smiled slightly.

"We'll figure out who did it." Seth said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "When you hit one of us, you hit all of us."

"He's right." Dean nodded. "We're a team for a reason."

"I really don't want you guys worrying for me…"

"You shouldn't have joined a faction then." Dean shrugged.

"Uh, I distinctively remember being forced into joining." Kaitlyn retaliated, a playful grin on her face.

Dean smirked. "There's no need to mention details, sweetheart." Kaitlyn watched Eva suck in a breath, jealous type this one.

Roman stood up from the chair, running a hand through his hair. Kaitlyn noticed he hadn't put it in a ponytail in days, which really was a minuscule thing to notice but she had. Now he kept his hair out, always covering his face as if he was purposely hiding from something. Maybe he was hiding from something. His problems.

"How are we going to find this person?" Roman asked. "Because I need to find them and I need to make sure I beat their ass so hard they can't fucking walk anymore."

"Roman, please." Kaitlyn got up now, making her way over to him and placing a hand on his arm. "I'm not even this mad about it."

"You're not?"

"No…well maybe later I will be but for right now I'm…confused." She nodded. "I'm really confused. I just want to know who did this, and yeah most likely kick their ass, but I just want to know who and why."

"Maybe this is a onetime thing?" Eva shrugged. "Or they'll make themselves known soon."

"Nah, we gotta go find them!" Roman declared.

"Let's just…wait this okay for a while." Kaitlyn agreed with Eva, much to everyone in the room's surprise. "You're upset and I, I don't know what the hell to think right now, let's just wait this out and we'll try to find them on Smackdown."

Roman gave her a look before letting out a frustrated groan and finally nodding. "Fine…fine. But you're not going anywhere without me when we get to the arena tomorrow!"

"Or any of us." Seth piped in, standing up from the bed. "We'll all be around for you. We don't want this happening again."

Kaitlyn smiled. "Thank you." Her eyes gazed over to the clock, it read 1 am. She gazed back at the group. "Alright, thank you for stopping by to check on me but I'm really tired and I know Roman is too."

"Damn, She-Hulk, kicking us out already?" Dean spoke with jest in his voice.

"Yeah. Now go before I Hulk Smash you guys out of here." She said, watching as they slowly started to pile out.

"We'll see you tomorrow, Kait!" Seth called out, waving goodbye before closing the door behind them.

Kaitlyn turned to Roman, who was staring at her. She placed her hands on his chest, lightly patting it with one hand. "Let's go to sleep, Muscles. We'll talk about this tomorrow."

"Kai-"

"Roman. Please."

Roman paused. "Fine."

A/N: Woo finally updated! Lol. So it was, in fact, JoJo who attacked! You know, she was scared because of how Eva treated her and stuff so she just had to do it. For her own safety, but does she like doing it? You can decide that amongst yourself! Hopefully I'll update faster, yeah? Anyways, hope you enjoyed this! Please review? ^.^
