Chapter 02

The Couple That Second the Motion

Aomine Daiki x Kise Ryouta

A/N: So, Chapter 2 of my series. You may notice some hints of the other pairs in Chapter 1 but it's up to you to be observant. Haha! Anyway, here we go!

There was one more day before the party should start. Aomine was busy napping at his apartment. He did not intend to join the vacation party set by the Seirin team. Of course, his former GoM manager (Momoi) needed to convince him to go to the vacation.

"I should be sleeping by now. Tch…" Aomine said bitterly and sat down on the bleachers next to the water supply for the team.

"Dai-chan, do you have a problem?" Momoi suddenly came to sit beside him and asked worriedly. The dark-blue haired boy sighed in annoyance.

"Nah. Just thinking about the upcoming winter party with the Seirin team." Aomine replied in a thinking expression as he sighed deeply. Momoi looked at him in wonder.

"By the way, have you approached Ki-chan already? He's really worried about you yesterday." Momoi asked, earning a light blush from the Touou ace.

"Uhmm….. Well….." Aomine scratched the back of his head and looked at the other side.

"Well, I'll excuse you from here. Go and approach him…. And make sure to tell him that I want a text message confirming that he's fine." Momoi commanded and Aomine gave her a frown.

"What? You want me to-" Aomine was stopped when Momoi kicked him out of the location and glared intently at him. That's when horror comes to mind, Aomine thought.

Aomine walked timidly at the streets onward to Kise's apartment. He brought his wallet just in case he needed extra money. He quickly got sight of some couples who kissed in the park. And the one that caught his attention was the couple of two boys who suddenly kissed and Aomine gave them a begrudging look.

'Why would they do that in public? I'm not against them either, but….' Aomine thought as he was walking then bumped on someone unknowingly.

"Oh, sorry…" the stranger said. Aomine was suddenly taken aback when he finally saw the person. "Kise?" he almost shouted. His heart skipping a beat and his body became tense at the sight of the blonde boy.

"Aominecchi! What are you doing here? How's everything?" Kise barraged him some questions and then flashed his bright million dollar smile.

"Um, w-well….. I'm really going to check you in your place…." Aomine said awkwardly by averting his gaze. The blonde squeaked lightly at the thought.

"Aww! So sweet, Aominecchi!" Kise cheered and blushed lightly. Aomine suddenly felt his heart flutter at seeing how cute Kise was. This sent him butterflies in the stomach.

"Yeah, yeah. Let's get something to eat. I'm hungry, y'know?" Aomine said to avoid the upcoming romantic chemistry and Kise nodded at that.

As they were in a family restaurant, Aomine and Kise ate their food in silence as they savored what they ordered. Aomine just got a burger and Coke while Kise had French Fries and some chicken bites with soda. Not noticing that Kise was staring at him, Aomine looked at the window.

"Neh, Aominecchi." Kise broke the pregnant silence between him and the navy blue-haired ace. Aomine looked at him with those boring eyes.

"Yeah?" Aomine managed to say while eating his burger.

"Y-you saw the boys k-kissing in the park, do you?" Kise turned away as he asked, his face flushed in bright red. Aomine was taken aback at that (for the second time this day).

"What are you talking about?" Aomine felt a blush creep on his cheeks. Thanks to his tanned skin it wasn't that obvious.

"Oh, nothing. I thought you saw them. By the way, I must go now. Thanks for the treat Aominecchi! Next time, I'll treat you too." and with that, Kise left, leaving a dumbfounded Aomine.

'Oh crap… I forgot about the text message.' Aomine thought and texted Kise right away.

That night, Aomine can't sleep nor Kise. They thought about the scene earlier. Could it be that Kise wanted Aomine to do the same to him? That was absurd, yes. But Aomine thought that with Kise, he couldn't be less interested in doing so. Aomine reached up to his phone and sent a text message to the blond.

10:00PM Tuesday

From: Aominecchi

Kise, are you okay?

Kise hurriedly reached up to see his phone ringing. To his surprise, Aomine sent him a message. He quickly replied to that.

10:01PM Tuesday

From: Kise

I'm fine. How about you?

Aomine smiled at the reply. Could it really be true? Maybe not.

They sent messages to each other talking about things until 12 midnight. There were portions where they laughed, bickered, became sad and such. Finally, Aomine called Kise.

"Kise…" Aomine said on the phone. He rubbed his sleepy eyes.

"Yes Aominecchi?" Kise answered rather plainly since they were acquainted to talking with each other.

"Do you like me?" Aomine finally had the courage to ask. Even though it would mean that he's a hopeless romantic, he still needed to try.

A long silence was brought up and no one dared to say something. Aomine thought the line was disconnected but then he heard some sniffling on the other line.

"Kise?! What happened? You okay there?" Aomine suddenly tensed and could feel his heart crippling gradually in pain. He knew it would be better not to ask it, but he wanted to know at least.

"So mean Aominecchi… You made me cry… Of course I like you!" Kise managed to say as he was sniffling lightly. Aomine felt lightened up at the response.

"As a friend? Of course you will." Aomine tried to be dumb this time, earning a light chuckle from the blonde.

"I like you more than that, Aominecchi. Or should I say, I fell for you ever since I saw you at Teikou." Kise said with dignity in his voice.

"Wow. Too long, I guess." Aomine said with a chuckle.

"Yes. You're just a basketball idiot like Kagamicchi!" Kise said mockingly but in a joking way. Aomine felt some nerves appeared on his head.

"Oi! At least I'm not a real-life idiot like that Bakagami!" Aomine barked at the blonde for being so comparative between him and that redhead Bakagami.

"Whatever… So rude, Aominecchi. Haha." Kise laughed haughtily but in a sense, he felt happy that he finally got to confess to Aomine about his feelings.

"You want me so bad, right?" Aomine smirked at his words and Kise could feel it as he flinched at the sudden question of the blue-haired ace.

"No." Kise said coldly, followed by a grin. Aomine suddenly froze at that. Now he was being an idiot.

"B-but…. W-why? You just told me you like me! How come you don't want me?" Aomine stuttered nervously at the blonde's reaction. Maybe it was all a mistake.

"Waaah! Stupid Aominecchi!… I NEED you… Got it?" Kise almost shouted and it made Aomine flabbergasted for the moment. But when he regained composure, Aomine just smiled at the thought.

The two of them slept happily after that. Little do they know, tomorrow will be such a big day for them, too.

"Dai-chan, how is Ki-chan?" Momoi asked. Her eyes stared intently at Aomine's.

"He's more than fine… I assure you." Aomine grinned lightly.

"Alright. Are the others ready? We'll be heading straight to the party." Momoi asked the other people with them.

"I can't wait to see Kouki." Akashi said, winding his pair of scissors round wise.

"And I can't wait to have a quality time with my Kise…" Aomine said while putting his arm around the shoulders of the blonde-haired boy. Everyone stared at them flabbergasted.

"Aominecchi! So publicly mean!" Kise blushed as he untangled the arm around his shoulders.

"What does that mean?" Akashi asked the couple.

"Um… We're on now Akashi…" Aomine managed to respond. Kise nudged his side for that.

"Why haven't you told us earlier? Geez, you took too long to realize your feelings for each other….." Momoi said in a sarcastic yet happy way.

"If that's the case, we'll leave them to have their 'quality time'… Alright guys, let's go!" Akashi said with might as the others packed their things after that.

However, they don't seem to mind the couple on the back seat making out with their lust-induced lips. Oh well, what a great day.
