A/N: Ahh, this will sound totally evil, but killing Rahzel off in the last chapter was sure satisfying. Don't get me wrong, I love her character in my other fics, but I always kindof wanted to kill her. Yeah, I'm weird anyways thank you wiljeeenbroodje- Whew that's a long name- for following and favoriting not only this fic but myself as well. :)
Without further ado, here's the next chapter.
Midna looked at the letter that came in from Link. The bird that carried it looked exhausted as if it flew nonstop to her kingdom. The Twili wasn't concerned about that; she read the words on the parchment again and again not wanting to believe them.
"What is the matter, Midna?" her mother asked; the rest of the court was also looking for an answer.
"Mirunar has been attacked. Prince Ghirahim is missing. Euphonia's best warriors are inspecting the country now looking for any clues," Midna said thinking of her poor friend. She only heard stories of what Demise did to prisoners and none of them were humane.
"We will double the guard and graduate all the apprentices to knights. We will not be taken off guard," Midna's mother ordered and the rest of the court went into action leaving the two nobles. "I'm sorry I know that he was your friend."
Midna's hold on the paper tightened crumbling it. "Where are the fused shadows?" she asked angrily. "I'm going to look for him."
The older Twili put her arm around her daughter's shoulders, "I understand that you were friends, but you shouldn't risk your life like this.."
"That is exactly the reason I need to look for him. He was at my side all these years," Midna said fiercely. Her mother sighed and removed her arm.
"I understand. Follow me," the older woman said as she exited the hall and walked through the castle. The queen nodded to the guards on either side and they allowed the two in.
Instead of the gray mask artifact, all that was in the room was an empty pedestal. Panic flew through the two woman. The Fused Shadows granted the user great power and now it was missing. "Everyone on high alert. Search for the thief," the queen shouted to all those within hearing distance which was doubled in her panic.
Midna looked at the empty room and wondered what was happening to the peace that was held for seven years.

Ganondorf looked at the site of the attack. He looked over the massive amounts of corpses. The princeling and his guard were definitely a formidable pair. "The poor girl isn't going to make it," Simeon said also looking for any signs of the princeling.
"She should be proud. She kept her prince alive against such a daunting force," Ganondorf said. "We should head to the capital and inform Lord Merek of the attack."
"I agree. Perhaps with more manpower we can find Ghirahim quicker," Simeon agreed. The two spurred their horses faster through the woods. "I suppose this means we are in war again," Simeon said after several moments of silence.
"We can't allow Demise to continue what he is doing. He is power-hungry and sadistic," Ganondorf said roughly fantasying killing the demon king.
The scent of smoke filled his nostrils and Ganondorf and Simeon spurred their horses even faster. Ganondorf pulled back the reigns when the trees cleared.
Black smoke billowed from the stone walls of Mirunar's capital. "What happened?" Simeon asked as he galloped into the city. Ganondorf followed after. The two horsemen sat in silence. Bodies lined the streets. Most were burnt beyond recognition. "Let's look for survivors," Simeon said dismounting and walking to the nearest house.
Ganondorf remained on his horse but also begun searching houses. Not a soul was moving. The silence of the city was chilling even though the sun beat down on his back. The two knights met at the end of the street. "Everyone is dead," Simeon growled curling his hands into fists. "Women, Children. Even the infants."
Ganondorf looked down at the charred ground. While he didn't shed tears for the dead like his blonde comrade, he felt the sadness at the loss of life. "Let's look in the keep. Maybe Merek's guards were able to keep him alive." Simeon nodded his agreement and followed the red-head as he led the way through the littered street.
The red-head stopped at the imposing stone keep and opened it slowly as he unsheathed his sword. If he thought the streets were bad the interior of the keep were barbaric. All the decorative décor in the grand hall was on the ground shattered or torn. Amongst the portraits, vases, and chandeliers, trails of red blood and tissue ran throughout. Ganondorf could hear Simeon gagging behind him and the red-head had to hold back his own gag reflex.
Ganondorf stepped with purpose to the throne. Laying in multiple pieces was Lord Merek. He held a small blue diamond in his hand. It glowed with a dark aura. Simeon lowered himself to his knees beside the fallen king. "I'm sorry Lord Merek. Your son is missing. We will find him," Simeon said in a soft voice putting his hand on the disembodied arm.
Ganondorf also put his hand beside the other feeling the need to give the fallen king his word as well. "Let's report back to Hylia," Ganondorf said.

Ghirahim caught his breath as the whip fell again against his bare back. He swallowed the tears that threatened to fall. In frustration, he snapped his fingers and willed his torturer dead. There was a shriek that satisfied Ghirahim more than it should have followed by the clattering sound of the whip falling.
He gathered his magic again and teleported outside his cell. He ran through the dark halls trying to find his way out. Bokoblins begun to run after him, but Ghirahim stopped their advance with a diamond barrier and a couple of projectiles.
The young noble climbed a staircase. Seeing more Bokoblins, he created a tornado that sucked up his enemies and blew them away. He ran to the large wooden doors in one end of the room he was in hoping it was the way out. Before his hand touched the wood, a wall of fire pushed him back.
"I'm impressed," a deep gravelly voice said. Ghirahim turned to the newcomer and found himself face-to-face with Demise. "You definitely are talented in magic as well as a sword."
Ghirahim narrowed his eyes and threw three projectiles at him. The demon king disappeared and reappeared right in front of the young noble. The older man grabbed the younger's arms and held them above his head. Demise pushed Ghirahim against the now unblocked door. The white-hair teen growled in the back of his throat. "Shh, young princeling," Demise said tracing Ghirahim's jaw making the younger bare his fangs. The demon king seemed amused and his hand went down the young noble's throat to lay flat in the center of his chest, "I won't hurt you…much."

Pipit remained in the forest. Even after his bravado in front of Link, he had a feeling of a dark omen. He waited for his father and Ganondorf to return to this spot and would then follow them. He sat cross-legged as he polished his sword. The wind shifted direction carrying the sounds of swords clashing. Pipit forgoed his horse for a more stealthy approach. He stepped lightly through the forest and crouched when he neared the sounds of battle.
He pushed back some shrubbery to see his father and Ganondorf locking blades. Pipit smiled to himself; the two older men must be sparring again as they often did. The young knight watched at the passion behind each strike. The two seemed really into the spar and giving it all they had. The blonde Hylian backed off as Ganondorf's sword met his forearm. Red blood soaked the blue material of the Hylian's tunic. Pipit's eyes widen; they never drew blood before. The brunette shifted to stop the fight when he watched the sorcerer's blade went through his father's chest. Pipit held his hand to his mouth as he father fell lifeless. The young knight knew he had to get out of here before Ganondorf found him.
Pipit ran the way he came, tears streaming down his face. His heart was beating wildly in his heart. His sobs were muffled by his hand. The betrayal of Ganondorf was a red hot blade through his chest. Pipit looked up to him; he nearly worshiped the ground the sorcerer walked on. Pipit mounted his horse and galloped back home. He wiped his tears. He felt as though his world was crumbling. How could he be an orphan now? How could Ganondorf kill his father? Why would he? One thought came above all else: he had to tell Hylia.
